"So you have most definately see him." Grencia seemed both troubled and relieved at this news. Apparently, he viewed the individual in a very poor light and it could almost be assumed that he was 'dangerous' in more than one way - perhaps the Phoenix was simply glad that Nalani was still safe...despite the distance she had been from him.
However, there was one thing troubling him. His target wasn't one to drift two and fro alone, instead, the beast was inclined to socialise and to network in the hopes of manipulating unfortunate souls to his cause. This entire thing was making the stallion feel mildly ill, it simply smelt too suspicious to be good news.
Surely he couldn't be expected?
"Where did you sight him last?" He enquired softly, grimacing as he flicked his gaze about the meadow.

"I really don't quite remember, it was so long ago, but I think it was to the west past the forest and river. I believe it was his first time in these lands." She somehow remembered about some news she heard a while back. "It might just be a rumor, but I heard that he had a mate in mind. If he's as dangerous as you say, I pray that the mare he's after gets warned soon enough." Nalani slowly lowered herself to the ground, tired of the days adventure. "I hope I'm not being rude, but I am a bit exhausted after traveling across the mountains."

"O-of course not." Grencia's face clouded with worry as Nalani lay down near him. She had every right to if she was tired and he wouldn't deem her rude but he now had more pressing things to worry about. Shaking his head to rid the whiskers from his vision, the stallion unfurled his wings and stretched - after so long a flight, they were rather stiff to say the least...
"Interesting that he should desire a mate." He mused coolly, shifting his gaze towards the flutter soquili once more. "He had no wish before, he rather enjoyed his harem." He added, his grimace deepening considerably while his ears pressed against the top of his head.
"I do not suppose that I could ask for your aid?" He continued tentatively, his expression lightening somewhat as if to rid himself of the foul mood he felt approaching, "I do not suppose you could find out if his search was a success?"

Ears swiftly perked forward with interest. "You ask for my aid and I will gladly give it." She gave him a friendly smile. "I am more than willing to help a friend in need. Especially if it's to find a dangerous foe. There are many foals who run around here and I wouldn't want anything to happen to them if he were near." Nalani looked out through the darkness, but her gaze return to the somewhat worried stallion as he asked of the other's success in a search. "I don't recall anything about him searching for something. May I ask what it is that he was looking for?" She hoped that she wasn't being too nosy, getting into things that have nothing to do with her.

Grencia couldn't help but smile in a way to express his gratitude. The willingness of the mare probably wasn't a good thing on a general score but the fact that she was prepared to aid him was much to his benefit. Not only that, but with his lack of familiarity with the land, she could perhaps prove to be a good guide - and she wouldn't glare at him in disgust.
"You said that there was rumour that he was seeking a mate." Grencia offered slowly, canting his head to the side. "I was hoping that you would be able to find out if he aws successful in finding one." He finished, well aware that if he had, this could prove to be much more difficult than he or his tribe had first anticipated.

She raised a brow in curiousity, "So you want me to get close to him enough to find out if he has ound a mate?" Nalani thought about this for a while. Remembering that Grencia had said that this rare sighted stallion was dangerous. "I wouldn't mind at all if that's what you need, but I would have to ask for protection in case something went terribly wrong with the plan. Sure I can handle a lot of things myself, but if he is as bad as you say he is, then I will need someone to watch out for me."

"Protection is something that I can provide without a problem." Grencia smiled reassuringly and gave a flex of his wings as he glanced the female up and down. Admittedly, she was suitably smaller than him but that horn was sharp enough to remove any immediate threat, he was certain of it, especially if she put her mind to protecting herself.
"I will make sure to be there, hidden from sight of course." He explained and shook his head slightly, "Whether it be in the forest or in the skies, all you need to is shout and I will descend to help you - I would never forgive myself if I were so dishonourable as to allow you to fend for yourself against such a beast."

She nodded and smiled, "I'm just wondering...how do you plan on hiding?" The stallion's coat was so bright and it glowed in the darkness. To her, the best plan would be for him to stay high above the clouds where no one would see him. "Not trying to sound negative or anything, but if you were to try and hide in the woods or something, they would find you. Your colors shine like the sun. Anyone will be able to spot you for miles." A silly thought came to her mind about covering him in mud, but she shook her head to rid herself of such a ridiculus plan.

It was the first time anyone had expressed their appreciation for his physique in a long while and it made his stomach churn slightly. Biting his lip thoughtfully, he couldn't quite meet her gaze as he lifted his eyes to gaze up at the night sky. How little she knew, to assume that everyone could see him when it was perfectly clear that they simply could not.
"Not everyone is so observant, and not everyone believes their eyes." He replied softly, flicking his gaze back towards the female with a sheepish smile. "There are ways to mask an appearance - for example, I could have the raccoons cover me in leaves and branches, or I could simply...roll in a great deal of mud." He pointed out delicately.
"Regardless of the decision I make though, I assure you I will not be seen."

The surprised mare chuckled, "You know...I was JUST thinking about the mud idea, but I thought it was silly. I guess it was good after all."
((I'll finish this tomorrow, I have to go.))
