How did he...? "W-What?" Catacus stuttered, eyes drawing together. It looked rather comical, and made him like rather stupid. Which he probably was, given his confusion at such a simple question. "Well, if you kill something that's pretty much in it's own category... Squealing doesn't hurt anybody."

"Are you certain that it does not hurt anyone?" Venom was rather enjoying himself and the drawl became more emphasised as he drew nearer the poor stallion. Flexing his wings, he canted his head the side and released a delicate laugh, bemused by the stallion's rather lateral way of thinking.
"Come now, have you never considered that a 'squeal' of horror could damage a soquili's feelings permanently?" He enquired softly, raising a brow as though mildly surprised at his own observation. "How it could ultimately destroy them in the same way as a predator might maul its prey to death? Only...take a moment to consider this -" He drew so near that he could blow hot breath on the stallion's nose.
"A squeal can be a slow, painful and torturous death - whereas mauling only lasts but a few moments."

I'mgonnadieI'mgonnadieI'mgonnadie.
How could he think about anything other than that at the moment? He'd been so busy attempting to the reality of just how close this stranger took multiple seconds to sink in. When it did, the stallion wanted so badly to stumble back, or even just flat out run.
"I..." he began. At first, his voice was shaky, but it recovered with a surprising amount of force. "I don't think hurt feelings are a good reason at all to do something like that. If you don't like others being afraid of you, shedding blood isn't the way to go about preventing it! You..." Don't say it. Dooon't say it. "I think you deserve any frightened sounds that are made at you."
Well, damn.

He would have fallen in that instant if he hadn't placed the Kalona in shock. Venom, to say the least, was at a loss for words and simply gazed at the stallion in complete astonishment. He had never been one who confessed eternal knowledge of other species of Soquili but he was fairly certain he understood this kind reasonably well - apparently, he had been proved wrong.
He really...he really wasn't sure what to say. He was fairly certain that he was going to defeat this creature in a battle of intellect but evidently he had been wrong -
"Go." He snapped hoarsely, his eyes clouding somewhat as he gave a flick of his wings and began to drift away from the stallion. "Go now." He ordered in a still darker tone as he gazed over his shoulder.
"Or I promise you, you will not out run me."

Catacus didn't doubt that. He couldn't out-run other normal horses usually. The stallion had his own shock to deal with. Not because he'd been out-witted, but because he was still breathing, then because he'd been given the okay to just leave. It had to be a trick, right?
Another brick of shock piled onto his mental wall as he turned and trotted (not ran) away, and wasn't killed. When he was positive he was out of sight, that was when he ran. Faster than he had ever run. Back to Her.
"Catacus!" the human called in relief, red hair blowing in the wind. "What's wrong with you?" A loud neigh came from her horse and he nudged her with his nose affectionately.
He never, ever wanted to run away again.

And so it came to pass that the kalona was once again in solitude. It had come as no surprise but he hadn't expected to feel quite so irritated by it - was it that he had rather appreciated the company? He shook his head and shot a disgusted look in the direction that the stallion had disappeared in. No, he had enjoyed the entertainment provided but he sincerely doubted he could deal with it continuously.
Mmph
Tossing his mane, he flicked his tongue out to lick at his equine lips before at last moving in the opposite direction. He had grown bored of the scent of the fallen female, he desired and change and perhaps a place that was less accessible to more of her kind...
