Laughing, Chuiwa just kept on running with his head firmly facing forewards. If he just kept on running straight in the direction of their family's den, there was no way Noyana could overtake him. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, his sister landed right in front of him!
"That's cheating!" He called after her, desperatly trying to catch up to her as he did so. If she beat him, he would never hear the end of it!

Noyana smirked. It had actually worked! Unbelievable! She didn't dare turn her head, for fear of tripping or losing speed. She said, loud enough to be heard by someone behind her, "That wasn't cheating, it was being clever!" She continued to run towards their den. It was a growing spot on the horizon... If Noyana could keep ahead of her brother a little longer, she'd definitely win!

"No fair Noyana! You're a big fat cheater!" The pale green cub had no hope of winning now, so the best he could do was call his sister names to take away from the fact that he was about to become a rotton bird's egg. "Dad's always said that cheating isn't good! Only losers cheat! You're a loser Noyana!" By now, Chuiwa'karatasi was out of breath from all the shouting while running. As the den got closer, he slowed down to a steady jog. If he was going to get beaten anyway, there was no point in him running anymore.
Yup, there was no way this cub was a sore loser.

Noyana proudly put her paw on the den's entrance, an ear to ear grin on her face. She'd beaten him, fair and square in her mind. They'd never established that you couldn't jump over the competitor... She turned to see Chuiwa come loping in, then turned back to the den's entrance. Not everyone was here...
"Looks to me like Njiti is the rotten bird's egg, even you beat her home!" Noyana said, snuggling with her brother before going in to take a nap.

At his sister's revelation that he infact wasn't the last one home (even though he knew full well that Njiti wasn't a part of the race), Chuiwa'karatasi smiled happily and nuzzled Noyana back, albeit roughly in a playful attempt to mess up her fur. "We'll tell her together when she gets home." He replied with a cheeky grin, before following his sister into the den.
(( surprised Le finished! ))
