"You do have a family there," he beamed, nodding matter-of-factly, "I'm not sure how big the family is there, but I know you have a grandmother and uncle there!" He tried to make it sound exciting, he'd never really had a family to go visit and the girls were his family now. Not to mention he had to try to hide his own anxiety about facing the family he lead Siku away from. But the girls need not know that! Not now anyway.
"I'm sure they won't be," he chuckled and nuzzled against her as best he could as she leaned into him, "I promise."

"Good...a family..." she pulled her face away from his chest and leaned back to look at him, "Daddy...where is your family?" An uncle..and a grandma..? Mommy had a brother? I wonder if he is like her? what does he look like? Jedi's general curiousity was peaked, she thought of daddy but yellow, but that just did not seem right, well one day they'll find out!

Kiji mimiced Jedi and leaned back as well to get a better look at her, smiling until she asked the unexpected question about his family. He should have expected it, but it just never entered his mind.
"I haven't seen my family since I was a little cub," he answered honestly, and bit his lip a bit as he tried to think of what to say. He thought of Amoret, the closest thing he'd ever had to a mother, though he knew she wasn't. "You, and Janja and Ekevu and mommy are my family," he said decisively, "That's what matters."

Jedi could almost sense her father's apprehension about the question and wrinkled her nose. She hadn't meant to ask a question that may make her daddy feel bad.
"And you're the best daddy, and we're the best family, that's what counts...right?" Again the thought of him no longer being there crept up and she squinted her eyes trying not to think of it. What little girl wants her hero to disappear...daddy didn't have a family..what if her's went away too?

Kiji beamed at Jedi when she declared him the best daddy, and them the best family, "That's right, Jedi. That's all the counts." He and Jedi shared similar fears, realizing that his cubs were the same age Siku was when she left her family made him anxious but he hoped that they wouldn't disappear on him.
"So, you really want to go?" he asked, beaming.

"Sure I'll go, if everyone wants to go, why not? Plus getting to see something new!" she giggled and did her little squirm/shift from foot to foot thinking about what her mind could imagine, maybe Janja and Ekevu will learn and grow with her as they travel!
"This will be fun, as long as everyone is together!"

"All right then!" he grinned and got up to his feet, circling around Jedi contently, "We wouldn't have it any other way, no one is going anywhere without the rest of us." Kiji chuckled and gave Jedi a lick on the forehead.
"Wanna go back to the waterfall, or are you not done out here?" he asked, taking a seat beside her.

She suddenly became aware of what she had been doing before her father had come along, to talk about the all important things. She had been trying to think, and being alone was the best way to do it. The sun was still warm on her black coat and she was sure that there was enough daylight to think..or sleep... a little longer before heading back. The mid-day sun had shifted west, but she was sure that it wouldn't go down for quite sometime.
"Can I stay here for a little bit longer, I'll be back with the family long before dark," she nodded and a small peeping giggle escaped her, what had she wanted to think of..? What was improtant?

"Of course you can," he agreed quite readily, he was always encouraging being somewhat independant- as long as that didn't take them away from the family. He got back to his feet, nudging her playfully as he stepped away, "I'll let you be then."
Kiji was careful to hop over the tree root he'd tripped over and smiled back at Jedi. Now he would go tell Siku that Jedi agreed to go, and all on her own without any influence from her sisters. He had no doubts their plans would go ahead with little trouble! In a good mood, he hopped back off towards the waterfall.
