"Scamp. I should have known that you would have to get me back!" Sticking his tongue out at Kimi, Safi grinned nonetheless and stepped back, giving her a bit more room. He hadn't intended on talking about Sai anymore, though; Kimi obviously didnt' know the danger in asking him about the most important mare in his life!
So it was with a teasing grin that he queried her intent. "I don't know if you realize the ramifications of that question, Kimi, but I'm a disgustingly happy parent. You start me talking about Sai, who knows when I'll stop! And THAT is a serious warning for you. Are you sure you wouldn't rather discuss the weather, the season, or the importance of good grooming?"

"Safi, Sai seems to very important to you, and if she is important to you, then she is important to me. I'd love to hear about her," said Kimi with a warm smile. "Besides! You have heard me ramble on and on about myself too many times! Time for me to hand the spotlight over to you."
Kimi stretched out her body, getting comfortable to hear Safi talk about his daughter. It was rather exciting to Kimi. Safi seemed very happy about this, which made Kimi very happy too.

Logic could be such an insidious thing. But in this case, Safi was more than willing to let himself be swayed by Kimi's arguements; he did so adore his daughter, even if she still WAS a basket. And Kimi was a new audience, all the better!
So it was with a big grin that he settled down into the sand as well. "Suit yourself. So, Sai."
Tapping the tips of his wings together, he launched right into his story after a mere moment of thought. "I literally found her. Tripped over the basket one day in the woods, as a matter of fact. Naturally I was surprised to find a lone basket without parent, but figured that the parents might just have left it alone for a little bit. But after five days..." Trailing off, he shrugged his shoulders helplessly at her. "Suddenly, I had a kid!"

"That sounds very interesting! You sound very proud, you'd make a great fatehr, Safi. I could only imagine what your children would be like, so very interesting in so many ways," said Kimi with a smile. "I wonder if your child would have the same charm as you do. Who knows what the world would be like with a foal just the same as you running around! It would be a much happier and comedic place, no doubt!"
Kimi laughed at herself and smiled at Safi. The laughter hurt her lungs from the injuries and she made a small face about it, but the quickly shook off the pain and smiled naturally.

"Or a terrfying and confusing place, at least according to my herdmates." But Safi's smile belied any serious belief in that statement. Besides, he knew full well that Ladius only liked to mess with him, which was why she said things like that. And she wasn't the type to be terrifed by a kid, regardless!
However, enough about him. Glancing sideways at Kimi, Safi very deliberately arched a brow. "So, now that we've talked about me, why don't we talk about you, Kimi? Specifically, what's going on with that stallion friend of yours? Last time we talked you never mentioned even having a potential, so spill!" Maybe it was nosy of him, but he did so love to hear about romance. Old softy that he was

"Well, I still am not sure, I want to venture off and meet new stallions, I just would feel so terrible if he ever found out. I know there are great guys out there, such as yourself, but I just donot know where I exactly am in my relationship with him. I'm not sure if we are even really in a relationship or just acquantinces with a romantic history," said Kimi. "And if any of that made sense to you, I'm impressed. It certainly doesn't make much sense too me."

"Hrm." That had been quite a mouthful, and a confusing mouthful at that. Luckily he had a great deal of experience translating emotional commentary from mares, so he could at least take a shot here. He'd been invited to, after all!
Closing his eyes for a moment, he went over what she had just said, internalizing it for a short while before his eyes snapped open. "So basically, what you're saying is that you definitely like him, but haven't spent enough time with him to actually commit to him or consider yourself in a relationship and are therefore open to the possibility of finding someone else. That makes sense."

"Yeah, that's it," said Kimi. "It's hard to talk about it, I do think that I love him. In fact, the night that I met him I told him that I love him. However, we realized we may have been going too fast, so we tried slowing it down. I'm unsure about love, one could love more than one Soquili, correct? I could love two, three or even more! But in the end, there is only one true love, one true love that I would want to spend an eternity with."

Safi nodded his head. On this topic, he felt that he could talk for hours; after all, love was far more complicated than a simple, rational decision. Lord, if ANYONE knew that these days, it was him.
But the last thing that he needed (or Kimi needed, for that matter!) was to go into that sort of complicated theorizing. Instead, he merely nodded his head. "True enough; from what I've been able to determine, love is a complicated and by no means specific phenomenon. Now, finding THE one..."
He trailed off there, his tone teasing. "Then we get into complications." Boy, did you.

"Complications? How so?" asked Kimi, curiously. "Well, aside from the complications involved in my personal search for 'the one', what other complications are there? You don't seem to be the type that would find any complications in woo'ing a mare. You unintentionally, I believe, made me practically fall in love with you! You have that likeability to you, I'm sure you've probably been with quite a few mares on your search for 'the one' mare, am I wrong?"

Laughing, Safi managed to sidestep the question with a simple answer. "Wooing is one thing, wooing the right person is another, Kimi. The complications are in finding the right person and managing to win them over can be quite formidable. And I'd say you're overestimating my abilities, Kimi." The look he gave her was teasing, the wing he ruffled her mane with moreso. "Though I have attracted the interest of one or two mares unintentially, yes. Can't help the good genes!"
