Yes. I understand completely. I just want to smash my head into a wall. Yes, it's 'backwards', idiot. Isn't that kinda obvious?! sweatdrop And then they won't listen. They just keep bugging you. Then they steal it. And flip through it. stressed Half the time the manga isn't even mine. It is annoying. I feel your pain. xp

yeah. it's not that big of a deal. and it's easy to catch on to, too. i mean, when i first read manga, i got a little confused at how some of the layouts were, but the more i read, the better i got at reading it!! XD

I hate that! It's so annoying! I got used to it after a few minutes of reading. It would be funny if someone came from Japan and saw them reading and asked why they are reading backwards.

SilentPuppet Yeah That does get annoying. Most of the time when I'm reading manga at school it's borrowed from a friend. Then some one curious will grab it out of my hand and open it as far as it will go bending the spine (my friend doesn't like the spines bent and niether do I). Being a nice person I don't like to just tell them to give the damn thing back and I sit there cringing as I watch them rough with it. >.< I usually end up grabbing it from them. A lot of the time they end up opening to the most reveiling page in the book and freak out. "EEEWWWW, You Perve." Not fun at all. The same thing happens with me. I brought Chobits to school once (baaad idea >.<) and I was reading during class and the first thing I hear is "Why are you reading that backwards?" I just sighed not bothering to explain. Then some jock grabbed it out of my hands and started fliping through it (almost destroying it and bending int emo ) and was like "Your such a pervert, those two girls were sleeping with each other!" and if anyone has read Chobits, in the second book, it is after Hideki's teacher gets drunk and stays at his house and it was Chii and her just after they woke up >.<

A kid in my science class asked me that every day for three weeks. I finally hauled off and smacked him with the book and he left me alone after that. mrgreen

I guess it's annoying, but you really can't expect anyone to know that it's Japanese manga. I agree that the people who won't shut up or grab the manga out of your hands and damage it should be beaten repeatidly with said manga. However, if someone asks "Why is that backwards?" once, with a true sense of curiousity, than you should just kindly explain that that's the way it is in Japanese.

The Worst is when you draw it for art and EVERYONE decides it looks easy and does the same.
They then get shocked when they search anime pics in google.
Then u get blamed for being sick - WTF?!

Well, that doesn't happen to me, since a lot of people around my school understand these things.
And many "anime freaks" there. But I'm more of a manga freak than an anime freak.
I used to get asked why is it backwards, but now a days, everybody understands. : D
And my picutres that I draw, that somewhat suprised, amazed. I don't really find it annoying, but if that person already heard it once, just say it's an asain book, and none of your freakin' business.
Since all asain books, I would say, would read from left to right, never really right to left. Or explain it really long, until they get bored, and never will really ask you again. XD

If you ask my opinon, manga is easier to read then regular books. First off, when anyone first picks up a book, they FLIP IT from back to front. So the Japanses have the right idea... print the books backwards xd I know that they read right to left when it is written in kanji... and down

It is annoying when the same person asks more than 2 times. But the first time I read manga, I was confused. There is nothing wrong with people asking you about, "Why is it back to front".. they are just curious thats all. I don't mind 1-2 people asking me, but most people already know. Once it gets over 3, I would probably lose it, especially if I am trying to read the book =(
