Your know your a Band Nerd when you start marching at the same time with your friend at the mall, with out realizing it!
Or better yet, when your entire group of friends (who are all in marching band of course) walk down the hallways at school together, in step and rolling your feet.
I've got a few more:
You know you're a band geek when:
- you try to come up with a pre-competition sectional cheer to rival that of the other sections
- You and your friends break into a vocal rendition of the "Sleigh Ride" band arrangement, with all of you singing your instrument's part
- you think the opening bars of Destiny's Child's new song (Lose My Breath) sounds like a drum cadence
- you can play your band's drum cadence on your body (someone in my band actually demonstrated this during a band banquet)
- all of your really good stories from high school start with "this one time, at band camp...."
- instead of movies or video games for Christmas, you want a reed knife and a reed trimmer
- you remember your drill from six years ago
- you celebrate when the much vilified rival band that has won your state's field band conference championship for the past 16 years in a row finally comes in second (*cough*WestGenessee*cough*)
- you know where every piece of music in your band's library is located, because you and your friends organized and cataloged it
- you signed the band room wall when you graduated high school, and when you go back for your ten year anniversary you look to see if it's still there
- you understand the profound importance of not using the bathroom on the tour bus... EVER
