FIN! Um, Lano? I have news ;>>/Rahu? You're a Father!

Delano watched as Aruna seemed to be speaking to herself, almost as if in a trance and now unaware of him or anything around her. He sighed and tears ran down his velvet red cheeks as he watched her. What was he to do now? He was upset, heart broken, feeling more then just a little betrayed. Whether it was true or not he believed she would leave him for Rahu eventually. How could he compare to this dark stallion who was now the father of soon to be born foals? He knew she was lonely and he felt he was to blame for that. He did not want to go but she had told him it was ok...he never should have gone. He listened silently as she still spoke...normally he would comfort her when she cried or was upset, but how could he comfort her now when he was in the same situation himself?... upset by her actions while he was away....and then she fell over with a thud. He walked over to her ...she was breathing and seemed ok..just unconscious. Up close now the horrible truth in her belly stared him in the face. He wanted to run and hide and think..take a bit of time to himself..just a day to sort himself out...but it would have to wait until she was conscious. He would not leave her alone to be easy prey for predators

Slowly, Aruna recovered from her unconscious state, her mind going in circles as she listened to the repetitive words of Delano echoing continuously within. Why? Why did he act like that? Was it really all her fault? Truly? She scrunched her dull gold eyes together as she tried to figure out just what the problem was; well, her stomach obviously was proof enough. So... so, it was definitely her fault. She turned, thinking that Delano probably left her; she was infinitely ashamed for her actions. She could only hope he would forgive her... and possibly help her to... well, take care of the children, too. Help her to raise them to be better than what she or her brother could do... though Bairn was probably okay now; he as true and sure in his love, he had to be. Much better than her... she had thought she had been stable, firm, in that emotion... but it seemed she hadn't been. "...I..." she began, and then fell silent.

Delano had stood there for a while, waiting for Aruna to become conscious. His thoughts were a swirling mess and confusion had set in along with blame for what had happened. Finally she began to stir and he turned to face her, his cheeks now dry but still stained and glistening from the tears his eyes had spilt. He waited for her to speak first, but it seemed she could only falter in her speech and jsut simply look at him with those sad golden eyes. He spoke softly now, but pain was still evident in his voice, "Does he know yet?" A simple question. Perhaps there was some hope if Rahu was not aware he was to be a father....perhaps he could believe it was a one time thing? An accident in being so lonely?

At first, she didn't hear what he had asked; she was too worked up and worried about how she would... or might... end up living and caring for the foals by herself, and then his words registered in her numbed mind. "...No," she whispered, eyes somewhat downcast. "I... when I figured out what happened... I slipped away... he doesn't know... at all..." she finished, feeling extremely guilty. "I came to you first... you're the first one to know, Delano." She managed to hide a wince of a pain as she looked away, only hoping he would accept her answer, which was completely honest and true.

Delano sighed to himself....so....maybe it was just an accident..an awful betrayl but still..at least she wasn't leaving him. Delano was still very confused..and hurt by it all, but his nobler upbringing told him he must honor his vows and God knows he loved her more then anything. "Well..then perhaps we should go tell him. He deserves to know...and I'd like to be there jsut in case he...isn;t stable or doesn't react well. I'd like to make sure he doesn't try to harm you or the unborn lives you carry." His voice was calmer now, gentler, like before. He moved forward and stood beside her, deciding to stay with her instead of leaving to think. If he left he might make a terrible mistake or decision. It was best, in his mind, to remain at her side. She needed him now more then ever, and it was partially his fault for leaving her alone for so long. His eyes still showed the pain he felt, but they also shone with his love for her, and that would always be his driving force in any decision he made.

She looked up at him, eyes looking slightly hopeful while at the same time as pained as his were. She didn't want to say sorry; it would only make things worse. She looked away. "...Okay," she whispered. She wondered if she'd be able to be strong enough to go out and look for Rahu; he knew how to hide, and it was difficult finding him; most of the time, whenever she encountered him, it was when she wasn't really looking for him and they basically just found each other that way. She sighed. Looking for him, huh? Well, she knew that he frequented the same places she did; after all, they were best friends--at least, she hoped they still were--and well, they always did find each other somehow... some way. She sighed to herself as she slowly stood, trying to hide her shaking legs. "Let's... go," she breathed, eyes on her mate as she held her breath, waiting for him.

Delano watched her, concerned about her condition. "Perhaps once we find him and tell him, it would be best to find a safe place to have those foals and raise them. " He wondered how Rahu would react...if Rahu was still the same, it would not be a good reaction, but then he had done this so perhaps he might be happy to be a father? Delanoo still secretly worried she would leave him for Rahu, but all he could do now was hope she would be true to her word and that she did indeed love him. They could get past this, and perhaps one day raise their own foals, but it would take time...time to trust again, time to build the strong relationship they once had. Time to heal the pain of all this. He was sure in time they could and would be happy again...maybe? He followed her obediantly, his head lowered now but still alert to their surroundings, silently trying to sort out all his emotions and thoughts.

She put a slight struggling hoof forward, and then turned to look at her mate. "You'll... still be with me, right?" she whispered, eyes downcast. There had to be a way to prove to him she still loved him more than Rahu, even though her proof didn't seem very... convincing... at the moment. "...Let's go find him. He... needs to know." She had wanted to let her own mate know first; she felt terrible; after all, it wasn't her mate's foals, it was her best friend's... and that was horrible on her part. She never should have wandered away from their home... but she had felt so lonely... by herself... it was always cold and quiet. Growing up, she had preferred to be alone, but she never really had been alone until that point in time. Her guilt showed through her slouched, tired body as she trudged slowly onward.

Delano stopped suddenly when she stopped and turned facing him. He was slightly startled having not expected it. But she moved forward again before he could answer. He slowly took one step forward before stopping to look at her walking in front of him. "Yes aruna, I will still be with you, and help you raise these......" He paused a moment before finishing his sentence. "his foals." The mere thought of it was a stabbing aching pain, but somehow he had to believe they would get through it. He continued to move forward, following her, his body appearing as if he was rather tired and ragged.

She paused at his words, and turned to look at him. "...I love you dearly, Delano; so much my heart aches with how it is overflowed with the emotion. But these foals, even if they belong to someone else, I will love them as a mother will." She turned to continued onward. They were almost at the boundaries that marked the enter and exit part of their established home. "I do not know what the future will hold," she continued, a slight pant in her tone as she walked, "but I know that things will work out to our favor, Lano. Something to your favor, your happiness... and this I will ensure with a vow." She burst past the boundaries of their home with renewed energy. It was time for her and her mate to find the true father of the foals wriggling inside her stomach. She hoped he would take it well; if he didn't, she wasn't sure if she was going to survive her emotional roller coaster adventure.

Delano silently and swiftly followed after the mare in front of him, hoping her words were true and holding them close to his heart. Right now that was all he had to hang on to. But with those thoughts aside he needed to be alert. It was time to find and tell Rahu of this news. How would the dak stallion react? Delano was truly confused about Rahu's role in all this and somehow he wondered if this would be unwelcomed news for Rahu

Rahu was by himself and was staring into the water at his own reflection. it had been a while since he woke up and had just stood there tryingto figure out what is was that his mind was blocking out after he had smacked his head and woke up somewhere else. shaking his head, he had a feeling there was somethign there he should remeber, but couldn't and it aggrevated him that he had a nagging feeling. snorting and pawing at the edge of the water, he stayed right where he was, contiuning his thoughts on what might have happened.

She found him exactly where she'd found him before: not too far away from her home but at the stream where she'd found him knocked out. For a moment, she hesitated, wondering just what it was exactly that she wanted to do first; call out to him, or just watch him? She turned to look at her mate, wondering if he would know what to do. Then again, he was more confused than she was, and well, it seemed as if she was the only one reliable (or maybe not exactly that word) to start the cycle. "Rahu!" she called, and then leaned against a tree truck to stabilize herself.

Delano stopped just beside Aruna but back a touch from where she stood leaning on the tree. He silently watched the dark stallion who seemed to be staring at his own reflection in the water. He would not interfere unless it became violent or risked causing Aruna harm. This was something she needed to do and he was just here with her to make sure she was safe. Heis red body tensed up as she called to Rahu, a dull almost lifeless look in his eyes as he stood there with an emotionless mask. For now he would hide the pain he felt, hide his fears and emotions. They would only get in the way at this particular moment....in this situation.

Rahu so intent on thinking had almost not realized his name was called, but his sharp ears just barely noticed. he then lifted his head, that he had been leting hang while he was staring into the water, and turned his head to whom had called his name. to his shock there stood not only Aruna, but Delano there too, which made him wonder why both where here. leting his eyes narrow a bit, he didnt notice anything different other than Delano there with her. " What is it the both of you want?" he didn't say it in a aggresive tone, more so rudely then anything and didn't move from his spot that he seemed rooted in.
