Wahabu listened carefully to every word his mother said, making a funny face as she explained what a soul was and how she knew he was kind and friendly. Did that mean she knew Kilango would be mean and nasty like she was? Why didn't she do something about that?

"D-did you know what Kilango would be like?" he asked hesitantly, not wanting to find out his mother knew that his sister would be murderous and try to kill him. He heard her explanation of why she didn't tell him, and could follow her reasoning. It hurt that she didn't seem to think he'd be able to keep a secret, but thinking about his conversation with Kubwa when they met, he probably wouldn't have. He didn't like the idea of Kilango being half-god, or her knowing it, either.

As much as the other questions could have hurt Wahabu, Mtima knew this one was the one she had to handle with the most care. She cleared her throat and sat down once again, folding her wings neatly on her back.

"I knew Kilango was not like you," she said carefully, "I knew she was not friendly, but I had hope that she could be convinced to behave nicely, or as nicely as she could allow herself. I did not expect her to go as far as she did, but I was blindly giving her the benefit of the doubt constantly. I'm sorry for that, Wahabu. We're very lucky your father found you both.."

Wahabu was not surprised to her she knew what Kilango was like, but was rather surprised to hear that she could behave otherwise. He whimpered, thinking of the last time that he gave her a chance when she seemed to be acting nice. They were both guilty of the same thing, except he was a cub and she was an adult, and a goddess.

"Oh," he sighed, finding no point arguing about it, "Ok then."

He got to his feet and skipped the few steps to his mother's side. He rested his two front paws on one of her front paws, and looking up at her with a small smile, "I guess I can't tell anyone, right?"

Mtima could tell that it was not easy for her son to hear all of this, and his silence at her explanation was somewhat unsettling. He was doing well talking to her about it all now, hopefully if he was keeping something back now he'd tell her sometime.

"If you ever need to talk to me, you know you can," she told him, smiling at him hopefully, "You always can." When he came over and put his paws on hers, she looked down and realized just how much he'd grown. She looked sadly up from their paws, smiling at her son.

"You don't have to lie," she answered, "I'd rather you be a bit careful with the information, though."

Wahabu nodded to everything his mother said, content with their conversation for now. His grandmother had helped him calm down initially, and that was helping keep him calmer now. He'd had a couple hours to get used to the idea, and he was rational enough to believe everything his mother said.

"Ok," he nodded, leaning against his mother's leg.
