Jareth's eyes turned to the small sphere in the woman's hand. It was dark with a glittering golden fog that began to swirl into msterious patterns becoming the coiling form of a dragon. He recognised that symbol, it was truly an orb of some considerable power, because it came from a clan all of it's own. No wonder the anomaly had appear among his papers a few days earlier. The truth was that this was not one of Jareth's subjects that the Goblin king had chosen for this girl. There was no other conclusion than that the orb had chosen her itself.

The orb's fog swirled heavily as though it seemingly stated its claim. Sky took notice and frowned, sticking him in her pocket again. "Alexander...behave. He's a guest." She scolded gently. For whatever reason the creature inside had chosen her and she hadn't complained.

Jareth noticed that the little orb had recognised him but once it had hidden itself he turned his eyes back to the young woman.
"Quite an interesting little trinket you have there, my dear." he said with a knowing smile. "Wherever did you get something like that?"

She shrugged. "It just appeared while I was working. It's been here ever since, providing wonderful company, if not advice."

"Just appeared you say?" said the Goblin King curiously. "No letters, no notes, no explanations?" he suddenly looked rather thoughtful, "Now that is strange."

"If there was any note or letter, then I haven't found it yet." For once she actually studied him, taking in his appearance. he definitely was someone who stuck out from amongst the crowd.
"Where are you from?"

Jareth smiled to himself, he'd been doing that a lot lately and really should stop before he started to look disturbing. Actually forget started, he already was disturbing.
"Oh, I'm not from around here." he replied ambiguously, he quite liked plaing this game when he was visiting other worlds.

She raised a brow. "Not from around here..." That struck something in her. Either he was from another world, which her corp dealt with or he was just not from this area.
"So where are you from if not this area?"

"Not in the slightest, in fact I come from another world entirely. Although that probably wouldn't shock you, it being your job and all." Jareth replied. "It's a shame, I quite like the dramatic effect it creates."

She grinned. "I'm not easy to shock. I get everything comming into my office with problems of all kinds."
She shrugged. "Though....You have been amongst the better looking to set foot inside."

Jareth gave her a strange look but let the comment pass without a comment.
"My name is Jareth the 31st, King of the Labyrinth and the Goblin City." he began, dramitically pacing around the office for good effect. "It is I who is responsible for sending out those little orbs that have been cropping up occationally."

She blinked, her face suddenly paleing when he told her who he was.
"So you're the legendary Jareth..." She murmured, understanding a little about Alex's strange behavior towards him.
Alex wiggled and made a small growling sound at Skyling, as though saying he tried to tell her. She picked him from her pocket and scowled. "Well it's not my fault you're an orb right now."
Sky actually felt like she should be hiding under a blanket from the boogie man...

Jareth smiled at her, pleased that his fame had preceeded him, deep down at heart he was rather vein, well, not that deep down.
"I'm afraid there's been a bit of a problem concerning our little friend here." he said nodding towards the golden orb. "He seems to have gone off on his own and chosen you as his guardian without my consent."

"Has he now?" She looked at the orb before glancing back. Work was definitely not an option for her now.
"I'm sorry he's done that. He's been rather wonderful in this place."

"It's not really that much of a problem." the goblin king carried on. "The goblin magistrates just got a little tetchy when one of them escaped. But now that the two of your are bonded there's nothing I can do about it. I think the two of you are going to be together for a long time."
