Laeri and Ankaa RP: Pull Yourself Together, Woman!
The cries of a young prostar could be heard even in the lobby. Twenty floors up, an overworked guardian and her temporary baby sat on the wooden floor of their apartment. A variety of foods continued to be splattered on the floor as Ankaa's cries grew louder and louder. Couldn't Laeri see that she wanted to get out of the house? She tried to make it plain as day.
A frusterated guardian sat curled up into a little ball in the corner of the room. She couldn't take the crying and the pressure, she was just a girl who wanted to live her life and offered to take care of the girl in hopes of making a little money and getting a free place to live. She wailed with the prostar and began to cry as well. Laeri realized after a few tears and looking around the apartment that Ankaa probably wasn't hungry.
I just wanna quit...
Ankaa began to sense a very bad taste in her mouth that only added to her vexation. She screamed harder in hopes of getting Laeri's attention and when she did so, exhaled black smoke. She coughed some and began to move her hands blindly around in hopes of finding a lock of Laeri's hair and pulling it to get her guardian's attention.
Laeri sighed and began to pull herself together. Crying, she thought. Won't solve anything. I need to get this baby some food, seeing as she ruined a month's supply in two minutes. Feeling a migrane coming on, the guardian wearily scooped the prostar into her arms and left the apartment. She would go and buy food, then come back and call maid service.
Ankaa felt the wind press against her face as she was picked up and felt better already. This was a sign that she would be feeling the outside-air soon. Releasing a sigh and trying to calm herself down, the prostar pulled her thin junafor-blanket close and tried to think happy thoughts. Soon she would be out of the apartment and hear and smell many different things. The prostar couldn't wait.

Laeri Ankaa and I went to the marketplace and nearly lost Ankaa. I was supposed to be buying some more food, but I saw the most gorgeous dress in one of the shop windows and nearly dropped Ankaa as I went to see it. I entered the store (which looked very chic, even by my standards) and placed Ankaa on the floor as I examined the snow-colored gown. It looked as though it was made for a princess, and I knew this dress was made for me.
Until I saw the price.
I can't believe it, the dress cost the price of the apartment and a week's supply of food. Feeling a little, depressed, I hesitantly turned around to pick up my kid and leave. Like any person would, I thought my child was stationed on the floor, waiting patiently to leave. So when I turned to look at Ankaa, I found that she wasn't there.
Crap, I was scared.
I ran around the store in search of the prostar and called her name over and over again. A few Class O's and A's looked at me while I was screaming like a nutcase, and I probably appeared as such. But they couldn't know how scared I was that some creep could have kidnapped my kid. Not only would I have the babe on my conscience for the rest of my life if something happened to her, but I would have it stuck with me for the rest of my career. The guardians would also demote me and all my friends would think I'm an irresponsible jerk and stop hanging out with me.
After a few minutes of panic, I found one of the employees and asked them if they had seen a small, dark-haired baby who would probably be exhaling smoke. The lady gave me a look that seemed to say I-can't-believe-you-lost-a-prostar-do-you-even-care? She sighed and was about to say something, but was interrupted by a much-too-familiar-cry.
Standing behind me was Ankaa screaming her lungs out and rolling on the floor by the maternity-wear (which didn't look too bad, but wouldn't fit me considering I'm not pregnant). Feeling quite embarrased and probably turning a bright, red color, I walked towards Ankaa and scooped her into my arms. Saying not a word, I left the store and headed towards the farmer's market.

Laeri and Ankaa RP: The Doctor Part I
The caretaker sat with large, dark bags under her eyes as she cradled Ankaa in her arms. The baby had been exhaling smoke for three hours straight and Laeri felt like a worn down, rubber eraser that had seen better days. The sky was dark and clear, unlike the guardian's eyes which were murky and tired. She felt as though she were a drug addict because she had been inhaling the baby's smoke for quite a while.
Please, she thought. Stop killing my lungs...
But the baby, not being able to read minds, did not. She continued to exhale large, billowing clouds of ebony and tears ran down her cheeks. She felt horrible because there was a large and painful cramp in her stomach. Feeling like she was going to die, Ankaa wailed and curled into a tighter ball.
Laeri sighed and decided that clearly something was wrong with her baby. She would make an appointment for the next day with the most affordable and professional doctor she knew. He was a great man with a large heart and admirable nobility. He had helped her and all her family when a terrible ailment was going around. He was the bravest and strongest man she had ever met.
He was Doctor Tinkle.

Laeri My poor babe...
Something's wrong with Ankaa... I don't know what, so I'm making an appointment with Doctor Tinkle for tomorrow. Honestly, he's a great guy. I actually hired him to be my personal doctor when I could afford to. Everyone seems to be his friend, and they usually are. He's so nice, sometimes I can't believe it. I also studied potion-making from him and managed to get a certificate from one of the best potion-makers in Pleione stating that I had acceled at my studies.
When I was little, my sisters and I had this terrible disease. I don't know what the name for it was, but our tongues were swollen and we were coughing up white, chalky clouds all the time. Luckily, Doctor Tinkle made a potion of somesort that eliminated the disease after a few days. I have always stayed close to him, and treated him like a dad, since I did not have one anyway.
That changed when Ankaa came into my life, though.
I had to move here, a sort of Oriental part of the capital. I had requested to be assigned to a prostar in my sector of the city so I could stay close to Dr. Tinkle, but I guess they didn't care. I still don't understand why I was given this babe, and why I had to leave everything near and dear to me. Unfortunately, I don't have a say in this affair, because the guardian's word is usually law.
I feel bad for Ankaa. I really do. It's just that I didn't choose her and I feel like I was given a kid without my stamp of approval.
I put her in the crib, but she's crying now, and I have to see if something's wrong because I know that it's the right thing to do.

Finn and Ankaa RP: The Doctor Part IISai and Finn It's far to say that one of worst moments in any child's is going to the Doctor's office only to be man-handled like a piece of meat by a disgruntle nurse and having a needle jammed into your arm without any warning.
Today was Finn's day to experience this and boy, did he put up a fuss when it was his turn to happen to him.
Not matter how much Sai cuddled or spoke to him sweetly in motherly tone of voice there was no way to calm him down. Shooting a glare of death at the nurse she placed the never ending wailing blondie in to the stroller and stormed out of the examination room.
Aw geeze, everyone is going to look at me now like I'm some sort of abusive drunken mother.
Letting out an angry huff she stood in front of receptionist's desk (who had mysteriously disappeared at the moment) in the waiting room she tapped her foot while pushing the stroller back and forth. Laeri strolled towards the receptionists desk as Ankaa exhaled clouds of black smoke into her caretaker's face. Ankaa wailed inside the stroller as the black clouds rose from her mouth. By now, the guardian's once healthy lungs were as rotted up as a secondhand-smoker's. She blew away some of the smoke when she came to the receptionist's desk and sighed when she saw the employee was not there.
You have to be kidding me...
Ankaa was in great pain. A burning ache travelled from her stomach to her head in only a matter of hours. She released a harsh wail and clung on to her blanket. She couldn't smell anything but smoke and couldn't hear over her screams.
A look of utter fear crossed over Laeri's face as she looked behind her at the other people in the waiting room. They were staring at her and a lady with a baby standing beside her. Attempting to be polite, Laeri gave the woman a small, inconfident smile through the thickness of the smoke.Sai and Finn Finally, another living soul came into the office! The sound of now two very upset infants didn't do wonders for her hearing.
However, since the other care taker was kind enough to smile at her she would only do the polite and smile back. Once again, awaked silence remained in the room. It wasn't until she saw the puff of smoke rising from other stroller that some what give her a good spook.
"Um, Miss." Using a tone of voice that sounded as polite as possible so she could gently break the ice between the two women.
"Your Starlet is on fire."Finn, the unhappy camper could hear the other starlet crying and in sheer curiously shifted his body toward it.
Laeri's heart skipped a beat and she looked wide-eyed at her babe only to find Ankaa continue to whine and breathe out smoke. She felt a surge of relief pass over her and gave a sheepish smile.
"She's not on fire, thank goodness, but it would appear so, wouldn't it? She's actually been exhaling smoke lately, it can't be good for her lungs."
The caretaker glanced over at the woman's babe. He was so cute, but the sound of his screams were intolerable. Perhaps she was a new caretaker as well. Still smiling, Laeri asked, "is this your first time as a caretaker?"
Ankaa a faint noise over her cries. It sounded like a rustling sound, similar to the one Laeri made after yawning and falling onto the couch with a few blankets. Anki gasped. Were there two Laeris? Two people taking care of her would be so much better than one. That would mean more hair pulling and adventures. Ankaa eagerly stretched her hands outward towards Finn and tried to see if she could grab something of Laeri's in order to prove to herself that there were really two.Sai and Finn Now there's something you don't see daily, a little baby breathing out smoke as if it's some kind of dragon. Smiling and nodding at her she moved her head to the side and chuckled to herself and the odd situation.
"Yeah, I'm new to whole Mothering type of thing. I can't say it's been heaven on earth ever since I got the little guy, it's more like hell." Sai would break out laughing at her own twisted joke. Was there another person closer to him? Hearing a new voice did spark his curious side of as well as the light thump when the other Starlet was on the couch. Should he stay put? After all he didn't want to give his care taker another heart attack after the parakeet snuggling incident.
So, he decided to play it safe for now and shifted himself closer to the opening of the stroller and stick out an arm as well as clump of hair that followed. If something was really out there then he would have feel it.
"I know, stars have been really collicky lately," Laeri said with a slight chuckle at the woman's remark and watched the woman's baby head towards Ankaa. She shifted onto her other foot feeling a bit nervous. She knew how much Anki loved to play with hair, and hoped that her babe wouldn't notice the hair dangling right above the stroller. If Ankaa found the kid's hair, then life really would be hell. "So... How has your kid been?"
By some great power, Laeri silently prayed. Please, don't let Ankaa touch the kid's hair...
Ankaa smelled it. She smelled it through the stench of the smoke and through all the scents of the waiting room. That fresh scent of well-shampooed hair could never escape her nostrils, and forgetting the uncontrollable pain in her head and stomach, she followed the scent and reached up as far as she could to grasp the hair. When her fingers, lightly brushed it, a smile crept on two her face. She reached a little farther with both hands now and gave the innocent, unexpecting starlet's hair a good, strong yank.
Although she was in great and terrible pain, Ankaa gave a whole-hearted laugh and released more trails of smoke into the air. She was so incredibly happy there was proof of two Laeri's, that she yanked the hair a second time and even harder than she did the first. She could tell it was going to be a very good day.Sai and Finn "Well, the first few days with him were very trying. All he did was cry even if I looked at him funny! I finally broke down and took the little guy out to the park, ever since then he's almost been a little angel." Pausing for second she thought about her own statement while rapping her fingers on the stroller's handle.
"It makes you wonder if crying is some sort of secret language of babies." The first yank caught him off guard cause him to go silent. It did hurt a little bit but not as bad as the needle that was jab in to his arm. On the other hand when he felt the second yank on his blonde locks hurt even more than the needle.
Why wasn't anyone stopping this? If no one would then he would have to do something! Take a deep breath he would cry even louder and sound more aggravated. Finn would even flail around wildly in the stroller to try to break the grasp of the hand. During his flailing he even found a way to knock out a stuff animal and bottle in his panic!
If this didn't grab anyone attention then none thing will. "Who knows? There might be." Laeri watched the innocent little boy get attacked by her baby and stiffled a shriek of terror. First the unexpected kid, then losing her at the clothing store, now this? How could it get any worse?
"Omigosh, I am so sorry."
Ankaa heard Finn's screaming and remembered that she had never heard Laeri scream. This hair couldn't belong to Laeri, and the only time she had heard shrieks was when she was at the marketplace and other babies were near. So the lock of hair must have belonged to a baby.
Oops.
Slowly, Ankaa drew hand away from the hair and felt quite embarrassed. A few seconds after she released Finn's hair from her death-grip, she felt that burning pain increase in intensity. Screaming from pain, Ankaa released huge clouds of smoke that traveled all around the room. The fire alarms began to go off and the ear-piercing beeping drove her to scream even louder. This was the worst day of her life, and it could not get any worse.
Then, the sprinklers went off. Sai and Finn Ah~
Relief washed over Finn as the crocodile hold un-grasp his hair allowing him to finally calm down for once. Yanking his arms out of the little opening before anything else could try to tear it off; he let out sniffle as he rolled to his side near the stuff animal that was put back in to the stroller. "It's okay; you just have an inquisitive little child. No harm done beside a few hair los--" Feeling the tap of the rain drops a confused expression played on her face as she looked over at the girl. Finn, on the other hand enjoying the mini down pour let out a happy giggle as he failed his tiny hands as if trying to catch droplets until his "mother" pick him up and drew him closer to her chest to prevent him from getting soaked. "Come on; let's get ourselves some place drier before everything gets drenched." Motioning for Care Taker and her child to follow she started to walk right toward the door.
"By the way, I didn't pick up your name."
What had been an excellent day for Ankaa had turned very rotten.
She was wet. WET!!! Ankaa hated being wet. She hated being bathed, spilling drinks, anything that involved a liquid touching her anywhere but her mouth. Now she had water falling from the sky onto her skin and she was not enjoying it. The sensation sent shivers up her spine as she felt the stroller being pushed in the direction of the voices she had heard all day.
Laeri pushed the stroller towards her new acquaintences as Ankaa began to flail her arms wildly. Personally, the guardian liked the water, it made her feel nice and clean. Unfortunately, the little prostar didn't feel the same way. Sighing, Laeri caught up with the other baby and caretaker and shot a grin in their direction.
"My name is Laeri," she said and made a gesture towards the babe. "And this is Ankaa."Sai and Finn Once out of the indoor down pour she stood in the halls waiting for the other care taker to follow her. Once getting a hold of her name she freed up an arm so she could hold out her hand to shake Laeri's.
"Saidi, but everyone calls me Sai and this little guy here is Finn. It's nice to meet the both of you." Realizing the two where wet she kneeled down close to the stroller.
While most of the items where soaking went she was able to savage a dry blanket from the bottom of the basket. Holding the pale yellow blanket out to Laeri she smiled gently at them while Finn in her arm.
"You want to borrow this? Both of you are soaking wet!" She said letting out a chuckle.
The caretaker lifted her hand from the stroller and shook Sai's.
"Yes, thank you so much," Laeri said with a smile as she took the blanket. Ankaa would definately need it more. Suddenly, she remembered something. Reaching into the pouch on the back of the stroller, she brought out a soft plushie about the size of an arm. She had bought it at the marketplace the other day, and thought giving it to this caretaker was probably the best thing to do with it.
"Here," she said as she handed the fluffy plushie to the guardian. "A present for Finn. A welcome to this world."
Saiko_Usagi "Oh my god!" Saidi said in an appreciative tone of voice. "Thank you! Thank you so much." Taking the cute stuff animal she would danged the toy in front of the Finn. Reaching out for it with his tiny baby arms, grabbed it, and stuffed it into his mouth. It tasted fuzzy to him but that didn't stop him from chewing away at it in sheer enjoyment.
"It looks like it got the stamp of approval from Finny boy." She was half laughing at Finn's reaction to his newest toy. In the background the ringing of a clock's bell could be heard. She looked over quickly to check the time only to have a look of horror come to her face.
"I knew I was running late for something! I would love to stay and chat some more but and I have to get going." Yet, she didn't leave right away. With that arm still free she pulled out a card with the words " Livre & Boek" on it as well as an address.
"There's a book store down town called " Livre & Boek" close by the market. If your in the area then drop in and just ask the old lady at the counter, Jenka, for me. Things tend to run slow at that shop so don't be shy to drop by! Plus, there's an array of interesting books for sale to."
"Alright," Laeri said as she took the card and put it in the pocket of her jacket. "Thanks. I'll be sure to check it out.
As she headed back to the waiting room (the sprinklers had been shut off by now), she thought about the two people she had just met. They were awfully kind and she would check out the bookstore later. She hoped Finn would forgive Ankaa for giving him a horrible experience that could last a lifetime. Sighing, she looked at Ankaa's tightly squeezed eyes.
She hoped she could see them again soon.
Ankaa wanted some flower petals to munch on right now. They always made her feel better. How could a day that started out so wonderful end so horribly? She didn't know. Whoever that starlet was, she would never forgive them. Ever. They disproved her theory about there being two caretakers and that truely upset her. Fortunately, she didn't know who this starlet was, so they lucked out... this time.

Ankaa and Laeri RP: The Doctor Part III
A few minutes after the calamity with the sprinklers, Laeri was called to Dr. Tinkle's office. She walked through the white and sky-blue hallways following the young, gorgeous woman in the nurse's uniform. Her blond, straight hair was tied in a bun that bopped up and down with each step she took. They finally came to a room that had yellow wallpaper with all sorts of girly creatures painted on it. The doctor stood in the doorframe with a genuine smile on his face.
Dr. Tinkle was an elderly man in both appearance and age. He had a long and large nose resembling that of a crow and had a series of wrinkles packed tightly around his eyes. A pair of small, circular glasses sat on the bridge of his nose as his mouth twisted into a grin. He hunched over a little more, showing that he was more relaxed and allowed Ankaa and her caretaker to enter the room.
"Hello, dears," he said as he lifted Ankaa up from the stroller. "Let's have a look, shall we?"
Ankaa liked this man. He had a sort of aroma that was a mix of tabacco and cherry blossoms. She could tell he was a jolly sort of guy by the sound of his voice and showed no restraint in being lifted. In fact, she rather enjoyed being held so high up, so long as he didn't drop her. The pain of her ailment seemed to lessen.
After looking down the babe's throat and checking her pulse the doctor handed the babe back to Laeri. The caretaker looked down at the smiling baby and sighed. She hoped that the protostar would be all right.
"This is quite serious," Dr. Tinkle said in a soft voice. "I'm afraid I have no choice but to persribe a harsh medicine. It's a nasty old thing by the name of Bugger's Wheat. It's sticky like syrup and tastes as unpleasant as week-old sunny-side-up eggs. It should do the trick though. For you see, Ankaa's stomach is developing a second organ that allows her to breathe fire. This organ, however, is growing too much and can kill her if ignored. Fortunately, it isn't as serious as it could be. If you came to me a couple weeks later, I would have to tell you that I would have to amputate the organ, thus disabling Ankaa's fire-breathing abilities forever."
Laeri felt like she was going to throw-up.
She didn't want this. She wanted to be an arena-fighter, not a foster-mom. Who ever the real parents were, they knew they couldn't handle this kid, so they went and dumped it on her. Hate them, Laeri thought.
She placed Anki back in her stroller and prepared to go.

Laeri Omigosh...
The apartment smells so horrible because of this medicine I picked up for Ankaa. It's a sickly green color and is in a large, twisted, glass, wine-bottle-shaped container. I had to force the syrup down the babe's throat, which was not an easy task. Poor babe is probably furious.
I suppose it's better than having her stomach-organ amputated, though.
It's going to be a hard time giving her the medicine, I can tell. She's already put up a fight for the first dose, and I have two more to go before the day ends. I've given her a few cups of apple-juice to wash away the taste of the potion, but it's not working.
Crap, it's time for the second helping.

Laeri and Ankaa RP: Thinking
Laeri sat at the table with the notorius, green syrup at hand. She stared at Ankaa as she laid on the floor, rolling about in her soft blanket. Laeri sighed and relaxed slightly. Then a something crossed her mind.
What if Ankaa never got better?
What if she never completely healed and would be a social outcast for the rest of her life? Laeri would never find out because she would have to leave when the babe became a toddler. It would be horrible if the babe never healed, because then she would be handicapped and would be a social outcast. Laeri shook her head, no it couldn't happen...
Looking back at Ankaa, she began to think about how it could have been. Had Ankaa been given to a different caretaker, she may have not been so curious and spoiled. If Ankaa were raised differently, she may not have had this horrible ailment and would be forced to take the omnious potion known as Bugger's Wheat.
So did this mean it was Laeri's fault?

Laeri Phew~
Ankaa is finally off that digusting Bugger's Wheat. Thank goodness... It stunk up the whole apartment. I swear I had to open all the windows for two days just to have the aparment smelling halfway decent. I think I'll drop by the bookstore Sai told me about soon. I'm in need of a good book.
My psychiatrist told me that Ankaa is growing unusuallly slow, but the stomach organ that produces her firebreath is developing rather quickly. The Bugger's Wheat was supposed to slow down the growth of the organ, but according to her, it's still growing at a fast pace.
I just hope Ankaa's body can keep up.

I wonder why Ankaa's parents (whoever they were) chose not to keep her. Was she too much responsibility? Were they not prepared? Why couldn't they handle the pressure? I just hope she doesn't grow up angry because she feels like she's abandoned or something.
