. I'm planning on using online stores to stretch down to 1/2", since they don't even sell sizes like that there.

They sell 1/2" plugs there. I almost bought a pair that had Jesus on them. heh.

Seriously? Haha, that's awesome. :]

@ Warninglv100;; I've only bought things from TOTM so far, except for one set of CBRs from Morbid Metals. & are those "super light aluminum plugs" even legal really?

I've only bought rings at the piercing and tattoo shop I get pierced, so I really wouldn't know. x_x

I don't buy Hot Topic.

My piercings mean to much to me. I don't like putting plastic in them...

I've bought a couple of rings from Hot Topic for my n****e just because I wasn't able to be at home for a couple of days(long story :/) & only had 1 ring with me that I didn't particularly like.

I found their horse-shoe shaped rings to be very uncomfortable..but their steel barbels were just fine..and even nifty looking. I think shopping there is like anywhere else..look at what you're buying closely before you jam it in your body.

I love all the horn I've bought there. I love horn in general.

The bottom line is......watch what you buy.
I've bought some halfway decent stuff from Hot Topic...but I also know what I'm looking for and at when I walk in there.

The best companies to get your jewelry from are the following
Industial Strength
Kaos Softwear
Esoteric Body
Gorilla Glass

Most of these companies you have to get through a shop...so check with your local one.

You have any sites that have piercings for other parts of the body?
From what I've seen, those are just for the ears...

I've never had problems with their sizes or the quality of the metal their jewelry is made with (I stretched my septum with jewelry from there, and I've had no problems with it). But let me tell you, the overall quality of the jewelry is awful. Their threading tends to be rather uneven, and their CBRs are just plain awful. I had to stretch a CBR with a pair of pliers to get the ball to fit correctly, ugh.

I have noticed that their acrylics are slightly larger than the gauge the packaging says. But it's not too big of a difference.
Overall, I like their jewelry.
Sometimes they get nice stuff in :]

I've gotten my gauges from them and most of my belly button rings and I've never had a problem. *shrugs*

I ACTUALLY work at Hot Topic (Store #169 =D). But yeah, we DO indeed have some callbacks due to some sizes being usually too small. Most callbacks are on tapers, not plugs. I've been stretching with Hot Topic jewelry since I started, never had a problem. Now, in comparison to some plugs I got at a tattoo convention was dramatic. They were a lot lighter and comfortable. I also bought from Spencer's, and there's a huge difference from Spencer's and Hot Topic. Hot Topic > Spencer's for sure.

I work at Spencer Gifts and I've had people say that the brands were "off" in gauge.
Hot Topic uses a brand called Morbid Metal. Spencer's uses Body Rage.
So I suppose it's possible, but I've never compared.

But no, don't listen to the guy that posted above me.
Spencer's has waaaay cooler pieces of jewelry.
