There might be other factions developing in this civil war: forces of evil that realize Victor's plan and oppose both main sides, groups that wish to remain neutral and merely defend their own interests, idealistic divisions within the two main sides, etc. Keeping track of that might require its own thread, so you don't end up attacking an ally or aiding an enemy on accident...or it could be left ambiguous, like a real war, so friendly fire isn't just a possibility, but a real threat.

Count me in... You know Kana will side with Vahn and Alex too if I get her involved.
Serenity will go... well, I'm not sure exactly... She's kind of pissed at her parents... Could have Uncle Victor get his hands on her and see what happens. 3nodding

That just how they are. They don't run around seeking random acts of "Do-gooding."
If they're in an area and something happens, they'll get involved. If not, then it'll be like it never existed.

If I don't hear the news via TV or radio, or a casual conversation, I won't know its there.
If I somehow come into contact with that info, then I'd have to act accordingly.

SM will probably be torn between the right of choice and sacrifice for the greater good.
He'd probably help Victor out, but he probably wouldn't go collect the innocents.
It all depends what happens ICly.
