" yet again i must agree with what you say." he allowed the eye contact and contiuned on responding. " i only was explorign while taking a run and since i have explored this area before i happened to know there was the spring here, then by chance i came across you here swimming." seeing a smirk come to her face at her last statement, brought more interest. " and what kind of reputation whould you have if you where to have one as you smirk tells me theres more than what you telling." Atremis Entreri us to have a reputalion for being a ferice killer that would do anythign for the right price. but here, he had yet to get himself a reputation like he use to have.

"Well, your explorations have benefited you greatly, then; I have to admit that the spring was a driving factor behind my selection of this meadow as my home." Indeed, the icy cold purity of the constantly refreshing spring had been a major boon to the tired mare when she had first wandered upon it; discovering the relatively level meadowlands around it were basically unoccupied only added to the magnificence of the location. Throw in the surrounding woodlands, and you had the makings of a wonderful (and private) retreat. Granted, there were other Soquili who wandered through...but she was good at avoiding notice when she wanted. Or meritting it, as the case might be.
The stallion's comment on her smirk made the smirk widen a bit, though; she wasn't really one to blow her own horn, but this story was too amusing to not share. And a fellow fighter would likely appreciate the humor, though a fellow FEMALE fighter would likely appreciate it more.
"Well, 'reputation' is a bit of a strong word, and I wouldn't use it were it not for the fact that numbers tend to merit some sort of specifics. But basically..." Here the mare's jaw set slightly, and an icy glint appeared in her eyes. "From time to time, I've been encoutnered by stallions of the most testosteronal sort; males who seem to think that by grace of their sex they are the superior beings on this planet and that mares exist either to screw or to protect, or occassionally both. And these selfsame stallions seem to get the idea that they can call me 'Little Lady' or 'Sweety', or think it's clever to ask who's looking out for me, or how I can handle myself out here... Well, that train of thought and conversation usually doesn't last long, if you get my drift."
The smirk was now malicious beyond all belief, and from both the expression and tone of her voice it was obvious that 'teaching lessons' was always an entertaining experience. But that coldness quickly gave way to simple amusement, and she smiled cherubically at Entreri. "But I'm sure you could understand that most of these stallions never reveal the source of their mysterious injuries, leaving me totally incognito."

" i think any exploration is of benefit when wanting to learn about an area wether it be by sky or land. and i must agree having a nice privite area is always nice." Artemis Entreri liked his solitude most of the time and only came out ifhe got bored enough. and when he listened to her story, he let a dark sly smirk come to his face. " ah seems by what you say, that you put them in their places rather quickly adn of course a stallion would never admit to geting beaten by mare fairly because of their pride. but i for one have yet to met anyone excet one to have every best me in fighting." yes he had never been beaten til he had met Drizzt which caused him to train more and more. of course he never would fight a fight that held no meanign for it though known to have killed justfor being crossed.

Flicking at a fly that had landed on her flank, Ladius was smiling nonetheless as she thought about the stallions from her past. Snarky bastards, as though SHE needed protection! They'd been the ones who'd needed protection, but it was their own damn fault for antagonizing her.
As the stallion spoke, though, she found himself studying the stallion with a bit more interest. He was well-muscled and light on his feet, as she'd noted earlier; but now that he was close, she was noting other details, like the sharp point of his horn and hooves. Those had to be advantages, as did his wings. But that strange garment on his back...
"I don't doubt you're a good fighter, Artemis Entreri. Anyone who knows anything about a fighter's body language can tell you are experienced, and I'm no fool. That aside, you've given me no reason to get annoyed with you; all that I ask for in life is to be treated with the respect I deserve." While she spoke, the mare had walked around to the stallion's side, eyeing the cape curiously. "A question, though; do you wear that thing even when fighting? It seems as though it would hinder your movements, particularly in regards to your wings."

Entreri eyed her cooly and watched as she circled him. his dark sly smirk never left his face. " well so far you given me no reason to show any disrespect to you." he lightly leaped back and flaped his wings back which caused him to go a great deal backwards from her and the cape flowed with him. after which he then walked forward back over to her as it was only to dmistracte that his cape was of little hiserance to him. " to answer, yes i do and it hardly hinders my movement and at times it can come of use." specialy for one such as Entreri who would ether out witt or out fight his enemys.

Though the force of the breeze created by Entreri's wings was strong, Ladius didn't so much as bat an eyelash even as her braids were whipped about. A little wind was nothing, after all, not compared to what she'd been through in her life. So the mare simply stood there and watched as the stallion did his little performance, her keen eyes noting the complete grace of his landing even as he jumped backwards. Very sure of his feet, this stallion, a definite boon in combat. She didn't doubt that he utilized his wings, not after that little show.
As he walked back towards her, she nodded her head in approval. "I see that you certainly know how to make use of your assets, Artemis Entreri. You were blessed to receive so many, but even those naturally gifted can be bested by those that actually work to overcome physical deficiencies. That said, it's been a pleasure to meet you."
But she was noting the sun's position, even while they were talking; she was hungry, after all, and it was time to track down her apple stash. Lunch was just as much a part of her routine as anything else, and she needed to eat.
But that didn't mean she would drive anyone off. Glancing over in the direction of the spring again, she turned to give Entreri a querying glance. "Have you lunched yet today, Artemis Entreri, or do you have other plans for the early afternoon? Because if not, you're welcome to join me for an apple."

Entreri made no hint of his distaste of the truth of her words, when infact he had been beatn once. " you speak nothign but the truth adn i have worked hard with training to be the fighter i am today." he then gave a slight bow and lifted from it. " indeed i have other plans before i choose to eat. and so it was indeed a pleasure." turning and walkign off a few steps, he then took to the skys to take his routine flight before eating.

"Until later, then." Quirking a brow, Ladius watched as the stallion took off, then smiled and walked back towards the spring and her apples with a light smile on her lips. Amazing, a stallion who wasn't a total a**! Obviously there was hope for the species yet...
