Suddenly hitting another quiet spell, all Ceridwen did was nod in response. Twisting her hoof awkwardly into the dirt below, she listened shyly. Luckily, an escape was given in the form of a quest for more ferns. Without so much as an acknowledgment that she would perform the task, she took off at an easy jog back for the fern batch. This time, she plucked several stalks from the bush, taking care to count just how many she had. After pulling ten free from the roots, she jogged back with renewed confidence, a soft smile on her face.

"I've always lived here, I think." She responded to the conversation as she neared the satyr once more. "This time I got ten!" In that sort of adorabley proud way a child shows their prize, Ceridwen thrusted out her fist with the ferns for Dev to work building magic with.

"Ten is perfect! Thank you." Using two of the new ferns he secured the long branches that were leaning against the tree, tightening the strands as much as he could without stretching them too far. "Now, let's see." He crouched at the foot of the shelter and arranged the lower ends of the branches evenly on the ground, since he had messed them up a bit when he was tying the upper ends. A thought occurred to him as he was busy with this. "Hey Ceridwen, what were you writing when I came over?"

The young faun couldn't help but smile as he worked, watching with great interest. He had taken the sad exscuse for a lean-to she had made, and had created something that would easily withstand a rainstorm. Excitedly, she clapped, jumping up and down a little. "Yay! It looks so good!" A wide grin spread across her face, crinkling up her freckles.

A slight wave of shy passed over her, after all that excitement. She wasn't one to show others her creations, especially those which she had written. Her eyes searched around for the cloth bound journal, which she had somehow discarded in the events that had just past. Ah, there it was, meshed with the twigs and leaves near the satyr. "Oh... uh... a poem." She twisted her right hoof into the dirt, staring hard at his back. "I write them a lot, actually." She was a little embarassed by it.

Hearing her eagerness he glanced at her over his shoulder and laughed happily, becoming very proud of his own handiwork. He saw, however, that she was not as proud of hers -- or at least that she was very shy about it, which did not surprise him at all. He followed her line of sight to the journal on the ground. Carefully he disentangled it from the leaves and picked it up. He picked a twig out from where it had gotten stuck between the pages. Then he stood and held it out to her, tugging on his ear in his own small bout of shyness as he wondered, "Can I hear it?" He couldn't actually read, never having had an opportunity or a reason to learn. "Don't have to, if you don't want to," he assured her pleasantly, proceeding to busy himself with lining the remaining fern strands up parallel on the ground, hoping that he might put her at ease by not staring at her expectantly.
