The pat on the equine shoulder wasn't nearly as bothersome, she thought as she nodded in greeting. Kitsu's eyes seemed to be the most used to the place, and she realized that now by the fact that she could actually see the two doors now, whereas they hadn't mentioned them yet. It might have had something to do with the bit of kitsune she had in her, she decided as she looked from one door to the other curiously.
Would the key she had just given Levi work on only one of the doors? Or both? They might try it on one first, and then the other before deciding? Or should they just pick which way to go first?
With that thought she reached for Levi's hand again, tugging him to the east door first so that he could test the lock there. Of course, she could have done that on her own, but he would tell the other girl what was happening while he was doing it. At least, she hoped so. The other girl sounded moody and impatient. If she knew they were about to get out she might be happier!

The pat on the equine shoulder wasn't nearly as fun, either, and Levi absently slipped his arm part way around Kitsumai's waist as she led him...hand resting for a moment on her warm lower back. She really was like Devi!!
His eyes hadn't really adjusted, everything was still a dark play of shadows and tiny highlights. The key was held carefully in his other hand, extended as he followed Kitsu's lead. Fingers sliding over the surface of the eastern door, Levi reflexively grappled for a knob.
"Ey! Iffin yer done sulkin', luv, we found somethin'!" He moved both hands to the door, and rattled at something that might have been a lock. Perhaps there was an easy way out, after all!

Oh joy, the twit had found something! What now? Were they to be joined by wizards from the land of nod? Perhaps the floor would fall out from under them! In any case, Breena glared at the darker blobs in the room, yet scrambled to her feet. "Fine," she growled, hands in front of her, feeling blindly through the room, attempting to restrain the urge to feel out her way with fists clenched.
The idea of doors and keys seemed too easy, and though a smart girl, she had not even toyed with the possibility that their means of escape may have been left for them.

Seems Levi's right! The key's right for the lock, and there's that ever-so-satisfying 'click' as it turns. Question is, did they choose the right door?

Kitsumai looked out the door, then back at the other door, wondering if she should mention it to the others. They were at an unlocked door. Which was a good thing, but still...
She looked at Levi, then back at Breena, wondering why they still couldn't see that well. And would it be worth the time to show them the other door? But still she tugged on Levi's hand, pulling him back to the room. If he argued she would just let them go through the door she had picked first.

At the tug, Levi didn't argue. He stepped toward Kitsu willingly, and settled one hand again alongside her slim waist. It seemed his attention was dangerously easy to divert. "Cat got yer tongue, lass?" Her silence didn't bother him much...he was used to Mik, after all, and the lad barely spoke a word till he was a child.
Perhaps his silent friend wanted to wait for the other! Nice of her. Extending his free hand, Levi felt blindly for Breenah. The door had clicked open, and once he had a hand on both girls, he'd lead them through.
Or, perhaps, he'd let the mouthy one go first. She seemed like the fearless type! ""After ye, Breenah!" His hand still groped in the dark, barely reflected by the tiny red LED bulb in the corner.

Her face turned bright red again at the touch on her back. He was very hands-on with someone he had just met, she thought, prancing in nervousness slightly. Maybe he was just that type of person, though. She had met a few people that needed to touch on a regular basis. Walter seemed to be that type, actually. Although she hadn't really thought of that, since he was just a toddler, and supposed to be her baby brother...
But she decided then and there that they wouldn't bother with the other door unless one of the others brought it up. Hopefully there would be light outside of this door and she could introduce herself properly!

Chivalry truly was dead, it would seem. With lips twitching, Breena squared her shoulders, aimed a glare at the shape she judged to be the boy, and reached out a hand for the door, feeling here and there in an attempt to get a grip on the handle. Once she had a light source, she would commit that boy's face to memory, and oh, she would enjoy playing with him!
Groping blindly, it was a while before anything solid met the child's grip, but at length, the cold handle was within her grasp, turning for what seemed an eternity before she inched the door forward bit by bit, heart pounding with the exhiliration and- dare she admit it- fear of the moment.

The door leads out, unsurprisingly, into a corridor. It's lit all along with fluorescent tube lighting, and the walls are a dingy hospital style green-grey-white. There are more cameras all along the ceiling of the corridor, twisted this way and that, some with the red LEDs blinking, some shining, and some off entirely.
It seems another decision is before the trio, as a door is at each end of the corridor. At least they can decide with the luxury of lighting this time!

Squinting in the sudden light, Levi waited until Breena was clear of the doorway before shoving through. "Nice place, eh?" He was only being a touch sarcastic. Seemed like the kind of place that was just full of secrets!!
Glancing first one way, then the next, Levi turned around with a shrug. "Well, yer guess is-...WHOA."
They were gorgeous. Both of them! He'd been right all along, it seemed, about Kitsu, though he didn't know her name. Definately a centaur, and blushing beautiful to boot! Breena, though, was just soaked in all kinds of lovely, and Levi favored them both with his fox eyed grin.
It occured to the pirate slowly that he wasn't in full regalia. Just a loose dress shirt, half unbuttoned and cinched at the waist with a leather wrap, brown pants, and scuffed oiled boots. His headwrap was tied around his neck for the moment, one dread twisted around to keep the rest out of his face.
Pulling himself straight, brushing a bit at his shirt, Levi offered a hand first to Kitsumai in the eerie light of the hall. "Ne'er got yer name, lass!"
Considering her attitude, he rather doubted Breena would accept his hand, but he'd give it a try soon, regardless.

Kitsumai shook the hand then started slowly spelling out her name with sign language before she realized that he might not know how to understand it. With that thought she reached down, tugging at the tiny little notebook necklace she had and opening it up to write quickly.
My name is Kitsumai. She wrote, holding up the note to him with a shy smile. She suddenly realized that she hadn't remembered putting the notebook necklace on. It had been on the table next to her bed. So someone must have grabbed it when they grabbed her.

Tiring of the introductions, and too much aggrivated to put up a sugary front for later purposes, Breena instead drummed her fingers against the wall, craning her neck to take in both doors. The fact she had not yet been taught to read irked her yet further, for they could have been saying anything, and she despised being in the dark. Figuratively, and literally.
"Now we're done with the pleasantries, think we could, oh, I don't know, get out of here?" Her voice was flecked with sarcasm, an amusing sound in a young child.

"Wha's the rush?" Levi responded absently, watching Kitsumai's fingers flex. When she switched to writing, though, she lost him. He could write his own name decently enough, and a few other things, but reading wasn't his strong point. Unfortunately, being older than Breena, he really had no excuse!
"Kitsu!" He repeated happily. That was as far as he'd seen her sign her name before giving up. Signing back in response, messy and slanted almost with the same tone as his accent, Levi grinned at being able to show off his skill. -Hay!- Right word, wrong meaning, but close enough. -Let's go play!- "Mik taught me. Pretty nice, hmm?" The young muse had been a part of his life for so long, he didn't think to tell her who Mik was!
Finally turning back to Breena, he dropped his hands to his hips and sharpened his smile. "Dunno! Pick a door, an' we'll see!" She was a bossy little thing, but most women were. One thing he'd learned was that girls loved getting their own way, almost as much as pirates did...so maybe giving her a task would chill her out some. No need to be nervous. Levi was here!

Kitsu was good enough for her! She nodded and looked at Breena expectantly, not wanting to make another decision. She still felt guilty about them not finding out about the other door in the first room.

A suspicion that the boy simply wanted to be able to blame her if the choice were wrong prickled in Breena's mind, and with an unexpected surge, she turned a sweet smile on him. "Oh, but why don't we let our companion choose?"
She eyed Kitsumai with that same sugary grin, though the aggrivation of the happenings had not passed enough for the sentiment to arrange itself in her dark eyes. She wasn't going to take the blame for a horse and an idiot.
