Xantir froze at the sudden forcefulness then pulled away almost immediately after. His eyes had hardened once again. What didn't this stallion understand? He didn't need help! He just needed to know where he was going. "I can make it on my own...I just need the direction..." He said voice suddenly dark. He took a step further away from the other then turned his back.
"If you aren't going to help me I'll find it on my own!" with on flick of his stub of a tail he staggered off angrily. He only needed the direction. He wasn't helpless even with his sickness! It would only take him a little longer to get places, that was it.

Well, so much for being friendly. Still, it wasn't like Safi hadn't dealt with obnoxiousness before. Indawo was a prime case study in that, after all!
But that didn't mean that he was going to back off, just because the other stallion got huffy. Shrugging his shoulders, Safi brushed himself off with a wing, then grinned. "Well, as luck would have it, I'm heading that way myself. You can walk on your own, of course, but since we're both going the same way we might as well walk together. And by the way...that's the wrong way." Chuckling, he promptly started off in a direction perpendicular to that the other stallion had gone off in. Whatever worked, eh?

Xantir stopped mid-step and turned his head to look at the other stallion. This made him mad. All he had wanted was a direction and now he was being shown up by another. Not only that but now he had to walk with the showy stallion with his flashy wings. While he was complaining about the other, however, he had began to follow him.
Each step into the snow was painful and each pain made his head spin. "Damn it..." He muttered under his breath shaking his head violently, the walking was doing him no good. He didn't know what to do anymore, what to think. He had been strong enough not to break with the wait of the spikes in his bones. He had lived through brutal heat and not enough food to serve a mouse. Was he going to let some cold turn him to seek help. "No..."
He stopped abruptly swaying a bit from side to side. "I'm not going there...I'm strong. I'll stay where I am..."What he said was more to him self then to Safi but his eyes made it seem as though he was angry with the stallion.

At the sudden declaration from the other stallion, Safi turned his head back to look at him mildly. So, the other stallion was going the proud and noble route, eh? Well, whatever. Safi had dealt with enough difficult stallions (ie Indawo) to know that there came a point when the best way to deal with them was to not deal with them.
Consequently, he simply shrugged at the other stallion, barely breaking his stride. "Well, stay here if you want. I'll just let Luna know you got stalled out when I get there." Tossing his head, Safi prompty started off yet again. If he was any judge of character...

Xantir quirked an eyebrow and chuckled a bit coughing halfway through it. "What are you going to tell her?" He asked taking a seat to keep from wobbling any further. "That a strange stallion is coming to see her but decided against it?" He laughed imagining Luna's confused and shocked expression. She'd probably think he had been leading a threat to her.
As he continued his hoarse laughter he cracked an eye open to see again and seeing how far away he was Xan jumped to his feet. "Are you serious...? What do you think she'll do?" He took a step forward furrowing his brow. Grumbling he shuffled to catch up. It wasn't for his benefit, it was for Luna's. If she did figure out what had happened she'd run out to get him, and if she got hurt? He shuddered to think what Amoena would do to him.

This was what he had been expcting to happen, alright. Grinning, Safi whirled around so that he was walking backwards, the better to talk to the other stallion and keep him alert. "Of course I'm serious; and I would describe you to her and tell her that you had been stalled by sickness and whatnot over by the river."
As for what she would do...well, she might get annoyed with Safi for abandoning the other stallion, but would probably do something to help him out, thus easing Safi's conscience. But if Xantir kept following, then there'd be no problem!

"You do realize that if Lunathiel had gotten hurt her daughter would be after both our heads right?" He asked narrowing his eyes. Then deciding that he could see much better like this he relaxed his eye lids and left them where they were. His look was no longer angry but more along the lines of sleepy or possibly drunk.
He watched as the scenery passed the sharp pain in his legs now numbed into a dull throb. "How far is it exactly?" He asked hiding a yawn in a coughing fit. He didn't want to admit it but holding his eyes like this was making him tired. He opened his eyes fully but after getting used to the smaller bit of light it gave him a headache.

Safi couldn't help but grin, now that he'd gotten the other stallion to cooperate without so much as lifting a hoof. Besides that, the fact that Xantir was anxious about Luna and Amey was hilarious. Obviously he didn't know who Safi was...but then, Safi had never seen him before, either, so perhaps that made sense.
Still, he couldn't resist teasing a little more. Without turning around (the better to hide his grin), he carelessly shrugged his shoulders. "Hardly likely, friend; Amey-dear would NEVER be after my head unless I flat-out murdered someone. She loves me, you see." Casually mentioned information, that, and without any more elaboration...but why elaborate when you could have fun with half-truths? "And not too much farther; up a hill, down a hill, and along a slope past a forest and we're there!"

Xantir's eye twitched as he stumbled the next few steps. He couldn't have possably heard the winged one, right? But, there it was ringing loud and clear in his ears. Amoena loved someone, and that someone was this stallion. "I find it hard to believe that that mare could love anyone..." He mumbled stepping quickly to get a better look at the stallion.
He seemed fairly normal for a stallion build wise not counting for the wings. His coat was white and blue like snow but he had always pinned Ame for one to like darker ones. Perhaps there was something about him Xantir didn't know. He gulped at the thought and slowed down. "You haven't killed anyone have you?" He questioned taking a few steps back suspiciously. He had missed how far it was in the stun but he'd rather be lost with a possable killer.

"No, actually I'd say that she loves me more than just about anyone else. Discounting her father and brother for obvious reasons, of course, I'd say that Amey loves me more than any other stallion. That's only to be expected, when-"
Safi cur off rather abruptly at the other stallion's sudden and seemingly erratic comment, turning around to stare incredulously back at the pale stallion. "I'm sorry, what was that last bit?" He'd always prided himself on the strength of his hearing, but he was POSITIVE that the other stallion had just asked if he'd killed anybody! Which could certainly not be what he'd asked, of course!

The creamy stallion took another step backwards keeping his eyes narrowed. A sneeze broke the sort of tension but only for a moment. Xantir could finish that sentence for him. 'That's only to be expected when you're in love.' So he was right and how he seemed to ignore the question only confirmed it.
"You heard me..." He said pulling into a stance for a quick attack. He was sick, yes, but he wasn't going to let him self be in the clutches of a lunatic. "...Have you ever killed anyone?" To anyone passing he was sure he sounded, and looked, ridiculous. Of course they hadn't just been listening to what was said and they didn't know Amoena. If they did they would definitely back him up on this. "If you don't answer I'll take that as a 'yes'..."

This was too funny. What had brought that question on? If Safi didn't know better, he'd think that he was being teased; but he only had to look at the other stallion's expression to know that he was being totally serious. Well then..
"No, I've never killed anybody; nor have I tried to kill anybody. I won't admit I haven't thought about it before, when I've been exceptionally annoyed, but it's never gone any further than that. So now..." Here he paused, tilting his head at the other stallion in blatant query. "What brought THAT question on?"

If Xantir were to say that he wasn't relieved he would be lying. His change didn't show past his eyes, however, as he was still in a sort of fighting stance. He wouldn't attack though, no, that would be going to far. His trust was a bit shaken and he was still nervous but that was no reason to kill. It was only logical to kill when ones life was at stake.
"It was just..." He coughed a few times the first only to hide his shame the rest a result of the first. "...You and Ame...she doesn't seem like the type to...you know..." He turned his head away keeping eye contact still. He felt utterly foolish for even thinking something like that. Amoena was a demon dressed as an angel. The thought of her falling for anything was rather disturbing. "Just forget I said anything...how far to her home?"

Too funny. Safi was a little amused not only at Xantir's behavior, but also at his unspoken critique on Amey. Ah, the girl was a little spitfire alright, but Safi doubted she'd go so far as to fall for a killer! Or at least, that was what he hoped.
Still, he couldn't resist funning the other for a little longer. "Understandable, given Amey's temperament, but sometimes things happen that can't be explained. But if you ask Amey herself, maybe you'll understand." Winking, Safi turned and started off through the grass yet again, calling back over his shoulder as he did so. "Just along this hillside, and we'll be there."

Bright eyes grew brighter as they widened in shock. Xantir was completely dumbfounded. How had that girl found someone to love already? And with so much older then her. She was barely just a child and yet, he sighed. There was nothing to be done. If the two were in love who was he to stop them, after all he had been in a similar state once.
Giving up on the matter he followed the wind a bit reluctantly. They were close but after hearing that he wasn't so sure he wanted to go to Luna's anymore. He was scared of the greeting that the other stallion would get. He wasn't exactly fond of warm and fuzzy stuff. It was nice on occasion but in such a dose it was disgusting. "Could you try to...tone it down a bit?" He asked keeping his head low trying not to imagine anything.
