"You juggle?" He sounded a bit incredulious at the statement. "Everyone has a surprise or two." He hmpfed. "Anything to keep you occuiped I guess." He nod sympathiticly. "I catalogued all the international laws they are breaking here. A good activitied for triggering rightous anger... Not terribly productive however. I'm going to need to order a new desk at some point."

"Billy and I don't see eye to eye lately, you'll have to find victems else where. " He smirked before continuing. "Used to know a couple card tricks, but I'm all thumbs these days." He displayed his hands again, his third tarsal had been transmuted into claws. "Retaught myself how to shuffle and deal cards again but haven't had alot of luck beyond that."

She laughed. "I do, a far cry from some of my less then tactful talents." At the word 'law' she instinctively stiffened. Of course when she'd first learned the truth about this godforsaken place she'd threatened to call her lawyer. The act in itself would have worked, however she didn't know how much wieght it'd actually hold considering she'd been on the run from the FBI herself. All the same, this was most undoubtedly illegal.

"Yes, we haven't really seen eye to eye before. I'm surprised we've been getting along so well now. Our previous meeting, before this one, he bit the hell out of my shoulder." She blanched at the thought and focused on what Richard had said next. "Card tricks? I can't imagine how that wouldn't be interesting. And this whole thing theatre is better then sitting around staring at the same wall over....and over...and over again. But if you're really not interested," She smirked, "I get it."

"Less then tactful talents, eh?" Richard simply couldn't help but ask the question. He had caught her stiffen at the word "law" which only heightened his curiousity.

"Eh most card tricks that I do require slight of hand which is surprisingly difficult with out that thrid joint. Claws although like to peirce the cards. I'll stick to my newsletter for now. That keeps me more than busy." He chuckled, "or at least something to procrastinate."

"As for Billy," Richard shrugged, "The man's like an onion, a very slimey onion."

"Mmmyes," she murmured, shifting in her seat. A madam, yes that had been her. VERY good at what she did. So much so that she had built a fortune, even an empire if you will, on the degration and dehumanizing of other women. The money was good, the powerful was wonderful, and for all her desires what she got was a one way ticket to hellisland. Not that he needed to know all that. "Back home I was..." she tried to fish for something, anything that would explain away what she did. "In the entertainment business. I was like a recruiting woman of sorts.....anyway"

She only nodded, taking it that she wasn't going to be getting this guy for their little freakshow afterall. That was fine by her, she'd just move on to someone else.

"Oh Billy...he's alright," she said with a light shrug, ironically the attribute that showed he really WASN'T such a great guy, at least when angered. "Everyone has their faults, some people just wear 'em like a ******** badge of honor."

"A talent scout hmm?" Richard eyed her with a suspicious glance. He'd pry deeper later, he was in no hurry at the moment. He and Maryke weren't going anywhere for a while. There would be time some other day.

He searched for another conversation topic. He didn't feel like phychoanalyzing Billy, that was probably a pathway to maddness all by itself.

"Have you seen the all the Dogs about?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 05, 2007 5:57 pm

"Dogs.........?" She asked raising an eyebrow in slight confusion. "If you mean the ones that used to be human then yes....but if you're talking about the ones that bark, lick your face, and hump your leg then....no."

A the spreading of gossip. One of Richard's favorite activities. "Well it was christmas not too long ago and some of the villagers appearently got some special presents. Dogs, some type of shepard. Gaius has one, named Vixen, and I've seen others around the village." Richard shrugged. "No idea why, but I'm guessing the Labs have some reason besides improving moral."

She leaned in. Gossip happened to be one of Maryke's favorite pastimes as well. "Really," she said frowning, " Hmmm yes, I'd have to agree. I doubt moral would be the biggest concern of yours." She couldn't help but let out a bitter dry laugh at the very thought of her next phrase, "Maybe they're curious to see if we copulate."

Richard man a face twisted with both disgust and amusement. "With the dogs?!" Hmpf. "Somehow I doubt Ambrose would take kindly to that comment."

He shooked is head and picked up his roll. He absently took a bite out of it. As he chewed his face slowly changed to one of disgust. He forced himself to swallow the bite. "Blech." He hurriedly glup down some water.

She laughed, loudly. "Relax, I'm kidding." As her hazel eyes ticked back to his eating she felt that familar...fear, enter her chest. It was strange and irrational, and she had no idea where it come from.

"Doesn't taste good?" she asked cocking her to the side. She wasn't sure why she was feeling this way. Maybe it was the heat....

"No." The word came at the end of a brief growl. "It tastes like buttered sawdust."

He grimaced. "Don't get me wrong, I've never had nothing againist meat but I liked all the fixings too." He stabbed a piece of meat and shoved it into his mouth. It tasted, almost sweet, like the most delicious thing on earth. "And this..." He pointed at his steak in front of him. "Tastes far better than possible for this grade of meat. I don't even miss potatos anymore. Because they taste foul!" He sputtered as a sawing growl rose from his throat. "Its insidious!"

Maryke......panicked. It wasn't something she'd did before, well actually the last time she felt the same gripping emotion, this intense feeling of fear and dread was when her sister was murdered practially right in front of her several years ago. It was the growl...maybe. Just something about the way Richard was eating and the growls and...

just something unnerved her.

Or perhaps it unnerved something inside of her.

At the very last grow without realizing it, or without knowing Maryke let out a high pitched shriek that sounded almost like a bark, or mix of the two.

Richard growled right back at Maryke before he realised it. Then he clapped his hands over his mouth. "Sorry." He turned red, clearly embrassed.

She did not hear his apology. Because before the former madam realized it she found herself hanging on one of the rafters aligning the roof, looking down at him and wondering how the hell she got up there in the first place. Maybe there had been another cry from her at the next growl...perhaps some jumping, latching onto the rafter with her tail to further hoist herself up, whatever the case.....the point was that she didn't know how to get back down.

Richard looked up at the woman hanging from the rafters with a dumbfounded expression at first. Then as his brain slowly processed exactly what had happened the corners of his mouth began to turn upwards, then a huge grin split his face in half, showing his teeth.

"Good god woman! That was perfect scooby do immpression!" He burst out laughing.
