Ember smiled a bit sheepishly, and ducked his head. Was he that transparent? And so, he thought for a moment, then slowly nodded. " I suppose...we should 'aparate', then. But...e-excuse me for my ignorence..what exactly is it? " He felt like an utter fool asking about something that obviously was an everyday part of Liliana and Remus's life. But, if he was going to try something...he wanted to know what it was, first. "D-...Does it hurt..?" he further asked, meekly flicking his ears back a bit and lowering his eyes to the floor.

Liliana giggled quietly, her green eyes glinting with amusement but her father only smiled softly. "It is a wizard way of transportation to get from one place to another in only a few seconds. Trelweny calls it magical teleportation. It does not hurt, but for one unexperienced with such a way of travel it can be a bit disorienting." He looked at his daughter thoughtfully. "Liliana dear, if you would disapparate now, to apparate in one of the wingbacks in the library please. I shall bring Ember with me to the larger sofa" Then back to Ember. "On your go, Soul-Brother."

Ahhh, teleportation. Now there was a term he knew...but he had had no idea that Remus was capable of such a thing. "That must be convenient.." he murmured, smiling a bit. "You won't...lose me along the way, will you? I mean..I t-trust you, of course, but... What was he going on about? He had already said yes..and he was interested, even with his anxiety. "What should I do?

With a nod & a "Yes, Daddy." the little crimson female disapparated.
His grin curled lopsidedly in affectionate amusement. "I have never left behind so much as half an eyebrow when apparating, my friend. All that is needed is to hold tight."

Hold tight...well, that was no problem, Ember thought wryly, moving obediantly closer to hold onto him, unable to keep himself from snuggling just a bit against his Soul-Brother. His tails flicking a bit with nervousness, he closed his eyes. A deep breath, and then.. "Go ahead, Remus," he heard himself say, his voice shaking just a bit.

With a happy smile on his maw Remus snuggled his soul brother in return, tucking his head over Ember's neck and holding him close. His friend really was like family to him, the way he felt for Ember. The love he had never dimiminished, but seemed to age like fine wine even when they could not be together. Remus missed their sleeping arrangements at the headquarters more than he would say. "Don't fear." He murmured softly in Ember's ear as they disapparated.
They apparated together onto sofa with plenty of room for both kitsus covered in a soft leather in front of a fireplace where a small blaze gently flickers behind a sturdy grate. They were in a huge classic library that could not possibly fit into what could be seen from the front of the house. Or the house itself, from what Ember can most likely recall from what he might have seen of it when delivering that letter to Remus all that time ago. The walls were floor to ceiling with books of every sort lining them except for long, thin floor to raised ceiling windows evenly spaced throughout. The windows looked thin more from their height then their width, which is enough for an average human to sit in the window seat below each with their legs pulled up to rest a book on their knees while they took on a view of the ever-blooming gardens outside. On either side of the sofa the two males now occupy were matching leather wingback chairs. Each chair was just large enough for a full grown kitsu to curl into, and Liliana was poised in such a position in all her teen elegance green eyes focused on the spot they were to arrive. She said nothing, leaving the honors to her father. "Welcome to our home, Soul Brother." The wizard softly spoke.

Ember closed his eyes, basking in the feeling of safety that went along with being held like that..especially by one so dear to him as Remus. It seemed like only yesterday that he and Nari and Remus had slept all together, curled around and against each other. That was back when he was so desperately lonely, not yet having found the love of his mate...not yet having any of his children. Back when he'd been confused by his feelings for his best friend- his only friend. He certainly didn't miss the jealousy...or the sorrow...but he did miss things being so simple, just him and Remus..and Nari too, he supposed. He longed terribly to nap once more with them...and perhaps bring Rhian too, if he could. Just the thought brought a soft smile to Ember's face, and just as he'd almost forgotten about what they were doing, Remus whispered into his ear, and then...they were gone.
And, just as quickly, they were there. Ember's eyes went wide, and he leaned a bit closer to Remus, overwhelmed by both the suddeness of their arrival and by the magnificent library itself. He thought that he had never seen so many books, all in the same place...it was astoundingly beautiful. For several long moments, he gaped about, trying to take in everything, and looking somewhat like a fish out of water in the proccess. Eventually, however, he reeled his mind back in (hah! another fish-joke) and smiled warmly, both at the wizard beside him and the teen before him. "Thank you." he murmured, "This library...is just...it's amazing."

Somehow, the young female managed to keep her face schooled at Ember's reactions. Remus simply smiled and nuzzled his friend. "I am glad you like it, Ember." Curling up on the sofa around his friend's legs the wizard watched with light in his dark eyes. "You're more than welcome to bring your family here as well, Soul Brother. But for now, why not tell me the name of a book you would like to read and if we have it, I will fetch it for you."

A book? How could he choose just one in a place like this? But if it would please Remus..then he would try. But as he thought and thought..he couldn't think of any titles, let alone one that he desired to read. Sheepishly, he ducked his head, laughing softly. "Anything.." He murmured, his voice hushed almost reverentially as he continued to gawk at everything he could, just drinking in the sights that surrounded him. There was just so much to look at...it was almost dizzying.

Now Liliana giggled. Her father's friend did not seem much older than she was, the way he acted! But she knew from the way her daddy spoke of him that he had kits of his own. "How about "Hogwarts: a History"?" She offered helpfully, with a quiet "Wingardium Leviosa" to float the book to the reading table conveniently near the sofa where the two males were.
Remus smiled with a pleased nod at the daughter who lived with him. "Thank you, Liliana." His eyes sparkled, glad to see his friend's reaction though not sure how to progress now. "I am only sad that it took so long to get you here, Ember."

"A-ah...yes..." Ember mumbled absently, still gaping at everything around him, although he did blink in surprise as a very thick book floated itself down upon Liliana's command. He seemed to forget, time and time again, that these kitsu could preform magic...although a part of him nagged that he should be used to such things. At Remus's comment, however, such musings over magic and such were dissapated, and he looked down in embaressment, shifting uncomfortably. "I didn't know if the invitation was still open..", he murmured, feeling his cheeks heat. More softly, to the point that his words were barely audible, he squeaked, "I didn' know if you still w-wanted me here, now that you had Nari and the k-kits to occupy yourself with.."

Dark eyes saddened, and Remus curled his neck around Ember's as his friend shifted. "Always open, Ember." His voice too was soft, but in a comforting fashion showing that his love fore his friend & Soul Brother never waned. "Perhaps now more than ever, we both have kits, my friend. I would like them to know each other. I would like my kits to know you, SoulBrother. More than my speaking of you."
Liliana smiled, tucking into her father's side until she seemed no more than an extention of him and sighed in contentment. Green eyes softly watched the adults with intelligent interest mixed with modest decorum.

Ember sighed softly as Remus soothed him, melting slightly against his Soul's Brother. "You speak of me?" he asked curiously, blinking and peering curiously at his friend's daughter. What had she been told about him? A pang of irrational fear went through him- irrational, because he honestly did know that Remus would never speak ill of him. He attempted a smile at the girl, although he was certain that it didn't fool her...that she knew, somehow, how anxious he was to get her to like him. "I would also like my kits to meet you and your family.. he added hopefully, the very thought of having so many that he cared for in one spot bringing a shine to his eyes, along with a true smile.

There was a twinkle in the teen's green eyes as she answered before her father could think of how he wanted to answer. "Only like all the time." Lily said with a grin, immitating the beach audio that had joined the family some weeks ago slightly. Enought that Remus shot her a look for that, as well as for her interjection in general when the question had been posed to him. But he was not relly upset and his daughter knew that, though she still dipped her head in deference to her father's mild rebuke. White and gold tails swept behind her. She liked her Daddy's friend. He was quiet, he liked books... and he was not Mother. Or MauCho. nd he made Daddy happy. That was enough for her.
"Why would I not speak of you, Ember? You are like family to me. When we are apart, it is as if talking about you brings you near me in some small way." His face grew thoughtful, wondering that & also how to get their families together.

Ember blinked at Remus's daughter, and then smiled nervously at her. Was she annoyed that her father spoke of him..? He very much hoped not. He didn't want to cause conflict between Remus and her..not in any way, shape, or form.
"I would prefer to be near to you in a more physical form than as words.." he admitted to Remus, curling his tails about himself. "I do miss spending time with you...and Nari as well. An age seems to have passed since it was just the three of us...d'you remember how we used to fall asleep together, all curled up in the HQ?" And how much of a fool I was, thinking myself in love with you, he thought but did not say, his eyes flicking to Lily once more as an old flicker of jealousy flared weakly in his chest. An irrational response, he decided, frowning a bit and wondering why on earth he should feel that now. He himself had a mate that he loved dearly, more than he could express...and several kits. It didn't make sense to feel jealous of Remus and Nari now. Ember shook his head slightly, as though hoping to clear it of such thoughts.
