That is just a general response.
This is fore those who are in the middle of writing something and need advice then.. Not later. For those who have stories they dont want online.

People who want a point of veiw on something, since Zahmen has many different things he has studied.

Heh, I don't think this is even the point of this thread, but hey, might as well ask.

I want to finish this goshdarnned novel.

-laughs- Aww, Capitana. I think you should just take a break, put your characters in a "cracK" [AKA a w-t-f] situation, and let them play. It gets all the crazy out of your head. Onto a paper too.. but that's a different matter.

oh ok..ermm im sorry i might just be misinterpreting this, but is't that just asking for zahmen's judgment?

Perhaps you can give me an instance where some one might find this type of thred useful. Sorry im just having trouble picturing this.

Ergh. And I suppose this is where I re-iterate that I am an editor. But I am currently working on a FULL full length novel, so hold up on the OMFGEDITTHISPLEASE.

Yeah. If anyone takes this down, not offended in the least. Just to pick up where Tak and Zee seemed to fall short.

you should take the giant wooden block off your desk, those things are awful : P

or you could recall why you started writing the novel in the first place. Writers block is usually just a lack of incentive.*

* these are actually the words of this mystery writer who came to our school for a young authors confrence...i cant remeber names for the life of me though, nor am i certain on her exact words but i think that was the gist.

ooo i just thought of something helpful. You could post descriptive passages that would just act as a refference for people who want to ameliorate there descriptive skills.

It would be a thesaurus for every day things in nature and beyond.

I mean im often at a loss to find a simple way to describe things. Perhaps you might be of some help to us there.

Honesty, we all know how to write. What would really be helpful is a reminder of all the tools and words and descriptions that we can use.

WTF IS AMELIORATE?

PLease...enlighten me.

dude, we're teenage human beings. These words probably aren't in our vocabulary. Please dno't complicate things purposely.

Allright Nova King, chill with this pessimistic "I don't see the point of this thread so it shouldn't exist" talk and stop demanding nonsensical answers from people who aren't the one who made the thread.

Sorry I haven't been on, been busy.

The purpose of this sticky, and I will include this in the original post:

I know a lot about writing.
Studied various forms of literatiure, been on newspaper at my school for four years, had a novel almost poublished (Random House sucks c**k and botched it all, but that's neither here nor there) and have been writing since I was about seven. This is an advice thread, got writer's block?
Ask for some advice.

Need an idea?
Ask for advice.

Need that last sentence of a story that you just can't formulate?
Ask for advice.

Yes, I will act as a thesaraus if need be but that's not what I'll specialize in.

Hopefully I will get enough examples to build a little webpage with qoutes and questions paired with answers, so yeah, this may be recorded.

Hey broken, appreciate the offer to show us up, but if you want a thread where people send you story after story after story after ******** story to edit for them until you go ******** apeshit and hate writing all together, then ask Waffles to make you one; but seeing as this is an ADVICE thread, and NOT an editing one, I think I'll pass.

Tak Jak, I appreciate you helping me.

And once again, stop making ******** waves, if you don't agree then don't use it, this isn't your guild alone, mystery reader, this is our guild; and as long as one other person aside from me and Waffles agree, it's staying.

Stephen King described writer's block as being your brain stuck in a rut.
You need a creative burst.

Stay away from television and radio, stay away from music of any kind (it's Belldonna, attractive but poison to the creative mind); sleep more, read less fiction. Keep a dream journal.Stay off the computer. Starve your brain for visual and audio stimulation, a fast if you want to consider it that way. Do that for a week or so, also, keep your interaction with other people at a minimal.

Your brain will go into withdrawals, it'll suck, but soon you'll get it; you have to make your own stimulation. It'll come in a rush, and you won't know what to do with it.
Give it a while, read up on your philosophies and history, organize your mind; and then just write.

It's what I did, and that's why I was MIA for so long, buit now I'm just teeming with useful knowledge and creative ideas.

I agree!

Once again, I offer my help.

And I have a question.

Okay, so I'm rereading crap I've written. Rough stuff, you know...there's two parts to it, and the first was really emotional and stuff, I loved it. I adore it when I get into that mood.

The second part...was sh**.

It was supposed to be VERY heart-wrenching, fast-paced, tense. But it was just words. Bleh.

Any advice? I don't really want to show you, as it's that crappy, and besides, it's deeeeep into the story.

Any general suggestion? Please? *puppy eyes*

I can promise that if it gets too much for Tak and I, you will be the first person I go to.

As for your question, what exactly are you asking?
I won't edit it, but I can say that if you want the end to match the beginning, then wait until you find yourself in that mood and re-write it.

If you need a few alternate words then check a thesaraus.

That seems like a pretty logical answer. :/

Why didn't I think of that? xd
