He had found the cheetah. That was good. He had just crashed head-on into a thornbush. That was bad. That was very bad. Especially since he was already in a foul temper and the thorns were getting caught in his fluffy hair and tangling it up as well as scratching at his arms and face. He yowled, completely forgetting about Sahra for the moment and thrashed against the thorny bush, struggling to free himself, but only suceeding in worsening the problem. This was not his day. This was so not his day and he was going to maul the next thing he found and maybe then the world would pay him a little more heed and this would never happen again.

"Ah!" Again and again, really, why did she have to be so easy to surprise? It couldn't be very healthy, considering she was supposed to be the one doing the surprising to her prey. But then again, she wasn't built on muscle, but speed instead, and would have to run from more muscular opponents and attack from a distance. So, maybe it was good after all?

She threw those thoughts aside for another moment, having only entangled herself worse and worse as she kept struggling; she finally gave up, momentarily. She had managed to untangle one arm, which she was grateful for when she flipped over onto her back. Her heavy shirt kept her back from getting scratched up terribly bad.

"Hey," She called, twisting around so she could finally see the lion, "Ya alright over there? Stop struggling! Most chances are that's only going to make it worse. Think quicksand and take it slow~!" A look of realization struck her face; she had taken her own advice (finally); or would have, since she was now a little to tire for the moment, to move too much. Sahra needed a breather. "I know you probably won't even pay attention to anything I say, but for your own sake at least try."

Ephrem slinked closer, slinking around a rock; he could the thrashing and crashing of bushes not to far in the distance. He could also smell them, both of them; what was going on?

He slithered along the ground like a snake, staying low, not wanting to be noticed (more truthfully he didn't want the possibility of being pounced). "Srra?" He chimed, constricting upwards, peering over a thicket of thorn bushes. "Oh my." He spat, just barely catching glimpse of them both.

Scowling, Caden stilled too and slowly began extracting himself from the thornbush. He loathed to have to take the cheetah's advice, but having his beautiful fluffy mane all tangled up like that hurt his pride even more. Being smaller and considerably less gangly than Sahra made it easier to pull free of the briars. The lion spared a moment to look forlornly at the tufts of gold and red fur he had left behind. That was it, he was so totally and completely done for today. Nobody, not even Mom, was going to get another twitch of work-ethic out of him until at least tomorrow. This sucked! He was going to get out of here, spend a few hours painstakingly grooming himself, and take a nice long nap.

With a an angry growl, Caden began pushing his way out of the patch of scrub and back towards the tall grass. He hadn't gone six steps when he promptly tripped over Ephrem and fell flat on his face. Today was really not fun and Cadn generally responded by having a bad temper. He spun around and lashed out vicously at whatever he had tripped over, fully intending to take out his wrath on some stupid tree stump or something, then go storming back to Mr. Solon to announce his abject refusal to participate any further.

"Well aren't we rude." She whispered to herself in a hoarse tone. Sahra was twisting around and about, freeing herself slowly from the horribly wretched thorns, almost literally one fur follicle at a time. Okay, so maybe she was over exaggerating a little. But seriously, was there any decently nice people left in the world anymore; at least on her daily rounds?

Ephrem winced as something shot towards him. "Rarr!" He instinctively twisted his tail outward, lashing his tail towards the blurred figure. That was, until he realized, "Ack!" just who it was. It hadn't occurred to at first him that the lion child might charge him, but it seems that he had!

The dragon threw his tail backward, thrashing outward and around in a circle. He speed quickly out of the child's way, desiring is no way to become an overly large scratching post for yet another feline. "No way." He spat, showing his teeth. He darted at the boy, his head shot down, and his sharp barred teeth sunk into his...shirt (or what ever he's wearing).

Re lifted Caden into the air; the lion's actions had truly caught him off guard. He had only taken such a drastic action in fear of the lion going after his Sahra. No one would ever hurt her, or even pose a threat to her. Not on his watch.

((If this is not alright with you let me know and I can change it. It's just what Re would do in any such given situation; restrain the 'problem' to keep Sahra safe.))

((Anything goes as long as you don't mangle him. He deserves it.))

Caden struggled, claws out and limbs flailing. He tried unsucessfuly to turn around and claw the lindworm, but that was rather impoosible. "Lemme go you stupid lizard!" he growled as threateningly as he could, which wasn't very much when he was being suspended in the air. After a moment or two, he gave up. It wasn't worth expending the energy. "Yeah, go ahead and laugh." he spat at Sahra, glaring venomously. Today was so not his day.

Finally able to roll away from the thorn bushes, Sahra pulled herself up onto her knees. Cringing painfully, she hadn't thought of the extremely logical possibility of thorns being matted in the fur of her knees. They dug into her flesh, but luckily for her, her fur stopped some damage. It could be worse. Everything could be worse; she just had to keep thinking that.

"I'm not going to laugh at you."

She could almost laugh, but for a much different reason than the lion would think. "Ahaah!" The cheetah grinned, turning towards the two a short distance off. "Man oh man." She was peering downward, looking at her own reflection. "I look like I just went through a bad car wash, came out the other end and got attacked by a swarm of bees and an angry mob." The cheetah was cracking up, despite the slight slinging of the thorns sticking in her skin in various areas of her body, she couldn't help but see the humor. Her short but dense fur was entangled with pointy thorns, and her hair and fur alike were standing every way possible, so messed up it was sad. "If anyone's going to laugh at anyone, you guys should laugh at me." Her grin progressed even wider.

"But you know," She lifted her gaze back up towards Ephrem and Caden; the dragon had slinked closer, and was now resting a few feet from her silhouette. Sahra shook her head, "you could lighten up a little. Negativity gets no one anywhere."

"Mhm!" Ephrem agreed, nodding, he pranced forward, unable to talk due to the mouthful he refused to let go of. "Wa sha wey dewwww?" He asked, periodically feeling an itch on the back of his head. It made his twitch oddly, jerking his head to the side a few times, he nearly forgot about the lion. "Whaaps." He stopped, eyes focused, though, on something above. Re, surprisingly, had no more interest in the boy, he bored him. He was no real threat, in his mind, just an annoying pest. But he wouldn't drop him until Sahra gave him the signal.

"Shouldn't we, um, finish class?" She suggested, pulling a few 'pickys' out of the nearly matted fur on her face. "Yuck!" The cheetah winced, tail thrashing about angrily, her ears were nearly flat against her skull. I need to remind myself to steer clear of those stupid bushes from now on.

Orpheus was leaned against the tree watching the two kids and the dragon, ready to step in if he were needed but for the moment... it would seem as if Ephrem had things under control and both got free of that thorn bush... mental note remove that bush so nobody else got stuck in it. That was going to be a crappy task though to do himself, he wondered if he could get Baroness and Vorel to take care of that task for him? He didn't want to get stuck in the bush himself.

"How are we doing!" He called to his students, as if he wasn't watching the whole time through his night vision goggles. He just wanted to make sure there was no real damage from those thorns of the class would have to be postponed so he could bring the two to the Medical Area to get patched up.

"Just Fine!" Caden's voice rang through the semidarkness in Orpehous's general direction. As irritated as he was by the fact that his fluffy hair was still snarled up and had a multitude of twigs and thorns tangled in it, Sahra (and Cadentau also mentally noted that he was using her name now) had a good point. Mom said that sadness had a tendancy to feed of itself by making sad people think sad thoughts so they just got even sadder and then their brain chemicals got all messed up and you had to get the sigh-kai-a-trist person give them pills to fix it. Maybe being mad was like that too. And besides, even from his veiwpoint, which was being suspended in the air by a lindworm, she was kinda cute..for a cheetah.

The lion was literally snapped out of his thoughts when Ephrem shook him. "Quit that!" he growled, flailing again for a few moments. "You've got me! Ya dun hafta snap my neck too!"

Caden almost smiled as Sahra picked a few more thorns out of her fur. In fact, he would have if it weren't for the thorns his his fur, which would undoubtedly p***k him if he did. "Sure." he responded. "So since I found you, it's my turn to hide, right?"

"Okay Re, you can put him down now." Shaking her entire body, ears lolling, Sahra picked at more thorns, this time at her elbows, yanking out as many as she could manage. She would have expected, actually, to have more tangled into her fur, but most of them were stuck in her shoulders and face. How lucky for her.

Ephrem dropped the lion, loosing elevation before he did, and let him plop down onto a thick tuft of grass. "What ever." He spat, not caring to explain himself; of course he didn't do it on purpose, but like the kid would believe him anyways? So why even bother. The dragon twisted around aggressively, bringing one clawed arm up to his own head; he scratched furiously at his skull.

"Alright," Sahra started, giggling at Ephrem's actions, "I'm glad you're willing to play now~ Yes it is your turn, I'll go over there and um, count, I guess." With that said, the feline speed over to a large rock, and sat down on the other side. She snapped her eyelids shut and began counting in her head. No way was she doing that aloud.

The lindworm sunk back to the ground, relaxed again, and in no hurry to move from his current position. He would watch them from here, for now, and go to his partner only if she needed him.

As soon as Sahra turned her back, Caden started off as quietly as he could. It wasn't so much about finding a good place to hide ; the yellowish grass blended in with his fur anyway in most areas, so all he really needed to do was get as far away from her as possible, which might give him enough time to track her movements. He meandered off in a wide semicircle, automatically crossing back and forth over the brackish shallow creeks that were supposed to looke like African rivers but were no more than a foot deep in most places. This of course, was pointless because cheetahs were sight hunters, but the brains of very young lions didn't always function well enough to consider such possibilities. Finally, when he was suitably tired, he settled down in the tall grass, ready to run.

"100." Sahra opened her eyes, stumbling to her feet, she shook her head, ears twitching annoyed like. It was almost as if something was buzzing around her ears, truly a pest. "Okay, so I need to go find him now." She whispered softly to herself, careful not to speak to loud. But where to start?

She decided that she would go straight, in the opposite direction she thought she had heard Caden go in. In a crouching position, she slowly made her way through trees and undergrowth, keeping her line rather forward. Until one side open, she turned to her left, emerging into an open area with nothing but dirt and stone, she quickly made her way to the middle, and then turned into the direction she believed her 'prey' to have gone, and began to pad forward.

She entered a grassy field, not sure if he would be here or not, she slowed her pace by half, if not more. The cheetah began to scan her surroundings very carefully, looking for any shape type disturbance in the grasses.

Caden's ears flicked when he thought he heard something step through the grass. Was it Sahra? Or was it some other animal? Did they even keep the terrein populated with other animals? Probably not, but it was possible. Maybe it was just the artificial wind. The lion pushed more of his weight onto his hands and tried to keep his head low in a cattish stalking stance. His fur bristled at the approach of imagined danger and the end of his tail flicked in anticipation. Caden was tempted to peer up over the tall grass, but she might see him, semi-darkness or no. He swiveled his left ear as far as it would go and back around, listening for anything that might give away her position.

Nothing yet, but she wasn't about to give up. Sahra had been scanning for a few minutes now, attempting to use the tactics her mother had shown a while back out in the woods when she was going after some beast. She had told her to use her sight to pick out irregular things in the surroundings, to try and find any simple little detail that didn't belong. It sounded easier than it really was!

Another thing that might help her, she remembered, was her sense of smell. Although not as formed as it could be, it was better than a human's, and with her large nasal cavity she was able to use it at least a little bit to her advantage. Sahra had to admit that she was not used to hunting, though, so this was all pretty new to her. That probably was a very good thing.

Careful not to make a detectable sound, Sahra inched forward, low to the ground, tail erect, he ears where all over the place, listening this way and that. Then she saw something. Odd. It looked like a darkened area low to the ground. She made her way towards it, to chicken to sprint, she was afraid it might be something else. When she approached it, she jumped slightly, flinching. It was only a rock; how talented of her.

Nothing but silence and the rustle of the artificial wind through the grass. Finally giving in, Caden lifted his head ever so slightly above the grass, instinctively thrusting his nose into the air as well. Still nothing. It occurred to him that she might be upwind of him so he slowly turned and looked over his right shoulder. Nope, still nothing. He thought he saw something rustle, but he couldn't decipher whether it might be Sahra. He ducked his head back down and paused indecisively. He should really move from this spot, just in case she had seen him, but he was really too lazy to do anything. After all, it was just a class, and it wasn't going to be over until she caught him. Maybe he should just stay put and take another nap. That sounded like a good idea. Another sudden sound make him tense again and his tail flickered anxiously.

Orpheus took some notes as the kids went about their 'game' watching them through the night vision. He had to admit that he quite liked the fact that D-corp could provide such things for his classes. Having access to them though did tempt him to go off and seem if he still had the edge enough to steal some stuff. He gave a bit of a grin then wrote down a few more things under each of the students name. It may have started off a bit roughly but it was going much better now.
