Nadine yawned and woke up to the jostling of her maid around the room. Wow, that was one helluva dream. She sat up slowly and stared at the window. The curtain was fine and nothing seemed out of order. As always, her maid silently put the freshly folded clothes in the drawers and left without even a good morning.
Nice lady... really.
Still, all of that was just a dream... Falling out of the window, meeting that woman, receiving the pendant, and, the part that hurt the most, learning that she'd be a 'mother'. All just a made up figment of her imagination.
"Oh well... that would have been nice..." She muttered, getting out of her bed and moving the mirror to brush her long hair. She blinked when she saw a silver cord around her neck. It couldn't be. She felt her heart beat a bit faster, harder.
Dreams don't... Was it a dream?
With her shaking hands she reached into her shirt and withdrew the relic. Tears formed in the young woman's eyes. It was real... She hugged the small pedant to her chest and stroked it. It was real... she wasn't going to be alone anymore.
"Thank you..." She whispered wondering if the mysterious woman named Rouge would be able to hear her. This was going to be perfect! A God! She wondered what he was God of... He would arrive soon, she was sure of it!
But when? Shouldn't she prepare? The blond planted a kiss on the pedant and set to work. After all, a baby was coming!

Random Event! Nadine turned and noted a small note left on her dresser. It had an address and phone number in a handwriting she didn't recognize. The note said "This is my address and Phone number in Gaia if you want to get in touch with me. My cell and the number for the ship are also on there should you ever need anything at all. Affectionately Yours Definity Rouge Remika"

"There!" She dusted off her hands dramatically, though her was no dust on them, and stared at her room proudly. From rummaging through her closet she'd found a crib. It was hers when she was a child and she though the dancing bears on it was cute so asked to keep it. Nadine was glad her parents were pack rats but she still needed a lot more things.
With a dash to the phonebook she was able to secure most of the other items she felt she needed with a credit card. One of the few things her parents trusted her with since she didn't ever go out. At least she'd finally found a use for it.
Everything she felt she would need was being shipped to the house. Since she got packages all the time from aunts and uncles, she hoped the maid would just deliver the stuff to her room as always.
She mentally did the checklist.
Crib? Check. Diapers? Check. Books on babies? Double check Milk? The fridge... Yup! She was set!
Aw, aren't new parents cute?
Thank God the manual would arrive first.
Nadine nodded to herself before she spotted the note. When was that put there? The maid? She ambled over and picked it up. Reading it she grinned. "Oh... that's going to be lots of help!" She put the number into a drawer where she kept photos from her younger-more fun-days.
"This is going to be so much fun!"

Nadine stared blankly at the items listed in the books and the items she'd obtained. There were ... more things? This was going to be hard... The girl frowned deeply and picked the number she'd been given off the top of her photos. She wouldn't mind, right? She had given her the number...
"Er... I think I need help..." The blond glanced down at the relic around her neck. Yes, everything had to be perfect for him! She pulled out her cellphone before dialing the number for the ship and waiting.
I hope she can help...
Rouge was at home playing scrabble on her game boy-it was an ingenious little device that she usually used to play Pokemon games. Those were so fun! She was glad Karyn and Lera had shown her- when suddenly her phone when off. Pausing her game she picked it up. The caller ID said it was Nadine's house. "Aloha. This is Rouge. What's up Nadine?" the woman said with a grin. The blond saved the game and turned it off. Nadine would probably need to ask her some questions. And it had been two day. Silly Rouge. She should have had Lera remind her of that and to warn the other guardians. Or in this case inform.
How do I ask this?
"Wow! Your telepathic!" The girl chirped over the phone in awe. Caller ID wasn't new to her but she didn't expect someone like Rouge to have one. She coughed and cleared her throat sightly. "Um... I ... don't know how to take care of babies..." She admitted shamefully. "I've got a crib and diapers but the books I got say I can't use fridge milk... and that I need a 'changing table'."
There was a short silence as if she had paused to think about this.
"Why would I need a table that changes?"
"No. The telepath is my friend Karyn. I just have caller ID at home." she laughed. It would be something that one wouldn't expect Rouge to have. "No babies can't have fridge milk. usually they start out drinking milk from their mothers or if that's unavailable due to them being adopted or whatever they have to drink formula. And a changing table is......." Rouge make a face on the other end of the phone. "Well see diapers are what babies wear instead of undies because they haven't been taught how to use the bathroom and can't learn till they're older. So they use the bathroom in diapers. It's kind of gross but when a baby uses the bathroom they do it in their diaper and the diaper has to be changed. That's what a changing table is for. Changing the diapers on not changing itself. And you will need one of those soon. We found out how long it takes for them to go baby."
There was a telepath? It seemed oddly more believable then the woman having caller ID but then again, nothing was impossible! She mentally took down the information and blushed in embarrassment. Rouge didn't make fun of her or laugh at her so she felt a little bit more relaxed around the woman. "Thanks...." Even her voice seemed to glow at the last statement Rouge made. "How long?" The sooner the better!
"well from what we've seen it takes about two days from the time they get their relic. So most likely tonight. If you want I can find a teleporter to get you to my place and I can help you out to night. I'm sure Lera would be kind enough to send you over so I can help you out when the baby arrives. And I can walk you through how it's done."
Tonight?! She made a mental note never to use the phrase 'the sooner the better' even if it was in her head. While she was excited and very happy to hear this information, it unnerved her. She was expecting... well Nadine didn't know WHAT she was expecting but it wasn't two days. "That, that would be great!" The French woman was nodding enthusiastically while on the phone. As an after thought she added, "Please... I'm sort of nervous."
Wait... did she say 'teleporter'?
Rouge smiled and nodded. She knew what Nadine was thinking just out of experience. "Yes I said teleporter. You were on a space ship. There are things like that where I come from. It's weird. Anyway you'll get here in a while. Just hang up and get everything you got for the baby all in one place and make sure you put the small stuff in a bag. you have to be touching it to teleport with it." Rouge was very very very experienced. Which was good cause Nadine didn't have a clue what she was doing.
"Thanks so much~" She practically purred over the phone then hung up like she was told. Everything she had for the baby. Not much but at least she tried... With that she grabbed her baby books and tossed them into the crib before quickly locking the door of her room. The maid would get the hint she wanted left alone and not find her missing. The doubt flickered in her mind that the maid wouldn't even bother checking up on her but she shoved it away. No time for feeling selfish! She had a charge to worry about!
Scrambling around just a bit more she cast a music box, a camera, and a small blanket she'd found in the crib and washed. Now she was set. Nervously the woman stood by the crib and gripping it so hard her knuckles turned white.
This was not a dream but an adventure.
Above her a glow seemed to start, like on in a movie or an episode of star trek. Then she feel sort of like she was floating in space again, closing her eyes to block out the light and then-there she was. Standing before the blond, who was seated on the bed playing her game boy again. Rouge was a patient person so long as she had something to do. She couldn't really start preparing stuff till Nadine got there and she saw what all the girl had. It proved to not be much but Rouge-having a very very prepared secretary-had plenty. "Welcome to my place." Rouge with with a friendly voice, shutting the game off and standing to huge the girl. "You can let go of it. now."
Nadine nodded but didn't release her death hold on the crib. Had she gone through that before? The seventeen year old quickly decided that she had a fear of floating. Of course what the proper term for the phobia would be escaped her but that wasn't the point. Her hazel eyes took in everything about the room before landing on Rouge. Oh right! She'd nearly been rude. She forced her hand off the crib and hugged the older woman, placing two kisses on each of her cheeks. She cast her eyes back to the things she brought. "Sorry its not a lot..."
"It's fine. I've got an assistant who over prepares so I ended up with enough for the both of us. I made sure to let her know I might be helping you out anyway." The woman was pretty knowing. But she had connections.
"anyway have a seat. I'll explain stuff to you. Do you want something to eat or drink?" Rouge said indicating the bed.
Her blond hair bounced as she nodded and sat down on the bed. "Um... I'm good. I'm too nervous to really eat or drink... I've never had a baby around before... and I'm an only child so..." Another twinge of loneliness seemed to seep into her form before fading away. Her fingers automatically went to her relic. "So does the Stork bring them?" She asked half jokingly, glancing around for where a stork could appear.
"Trust me. you'll need food." Rouge said walking towards a small mini fridge in the room. She didn't mention why. But it was suddenly apparent when a soft giggling was heard from the other end of the room and Nadine noticed a baby boy in a crib in the corner that she hadn't noticed. "And it's all right honey. I understand I"m an only child too. But I'll walk you through it." the woman said coming back over with a plate of brownies and a gallon of milk. She returned again with two glasses and then again with a baby boy in her arms. "Meet Diyaka." she said with a smile. He was actually pretty cute surprisingly. Jet black hair, big purple eyes and chubby cheeks. He was giggling and reaching for Nadine with his lightly tanned baby arms. What a cutiepie. "You can hold him if you like. It'll teach you how to hold a child. I can help you."
"Uh...." She tried to stop the woman from getting the food until she noticed the baby that... she was rather sure hadn't been there before along with the crib. Or had it? She didn't know anymore. When she saw the baby she smiled warmly and reached out her own hand toward him. "You will?" Her smile broadened. " Um alright... show me what to do."
Rouge knelt and put the baby in Nadine's arms, moving the girl's arms so they cushioned his back and neck. "He's about 2 I believe. they've been coming out about 2 and 3 from what I've seen. And he was hiding in an illusion. I put it there so he wouldn't wake up get shocked by you arriving. He's not quite ready to see teleporters yet I don't' think." the woman said with a smile. "And as I said just have a little. It's going to feel kind of odd seeing him like that. Eating something comforting before hand while you hear about what you'll see is good for you."
"Two and three? Don't they eat food on their own at that age?" She questioned more to herself then Rouge. Nadine cast her rather paranoid look. "I don't think I'm ready for teleporters yet..." She switched to a more confused face but nodded in agreement when she talked about the food. "er alright..." She smiled down at Diyaka. "Hi there..."
"by appearance and physical strength two and three. By what they eat and how they behave they're infants. And don't worry. It was just necessary tonight. Later on I'll introduce you to Tan Pan Murica. She lives near you and is also a guardian. She'll help you out."
Diyaka giggled and gave her a baby kiss. He was a happy bouncy affectionate baby! biggrin And he liked Nadine. She was nice. And she held him. "He can have tiny bits of brownie though. They're soft. Just not too big." Rouge said with a laugh. Nadine had a new friend. That was good.
Nadine grinned at the baby, more focused on him then what Rouge was saying. She took a brown and bit into it, offering a small piece to Diyaka. "Want some brownie?" She cooed. It seemed though lacking in experience, she had some of those parenting instincts.
He giggled and took the piece, giving her another baby kiss. So polite. And so affectionate! And he actually looked like Rouge. They had the same skin tone. And the same nose. And the same ears! He looked like he could be her son naturally. Not that Nadine knew that he wasn't. Or who he had been.
Rouge smiled. "I'm going to have to explain something sort of serious when he falls back asleep."
"Serious?" That didn't sound good... "What if he doesn't go back to sleep?" She blew a kiss back at him then offered him another piece after eating most of the brownie herself. "I heard babies don't like to sleep."
"Dia is a good boy. He'll go back to sleep. Or at least amuse himself with something else." Rouge said.
After a while of the brownie feeding and cuddling the baby boy snuggled up to Nadine and went back to sleep as Rouge had said. He would be a pain as a toddler but as a baby he was okay. The elder woman stood and put the child in the crib then sat down. It felt creepy being a single mom at 26. Especially when still a virgin. But anyway.
"Now the way you'll get the baby may frighten you a bit. I've got special permission via some spirit dealings on my behalf done by my friend Tannie so that I can go with you. But it will still be slightly frightening. You're going to have to see your child deity well...what they looked like when they died."
Nadine's entire body froze. ".... when... they died.... I have to... watch it die...?" She questioned, her voice seeming to disappear like a whisper on the wind. What was the point of seeing them die?! She gripped the relic in both of her hands and stared at Rouge. "Yo-you're sure that's the only way...?"
"No. But you will see the body. It's part of how they become real again. You have to see the body. There won't be blood but the body will be there." she said softly. "Yes I'm sure. It's part of the rebirth process. But I'll be there to help you." It was painful for Rouge too. She was glad she didn't have to see the death itself as he was her....
She closed her eyes and sighed heavily. "Alright..." She said quietly and gave Rouge a forced smile. "So what do I have to do...?"
"You'll have to go to sleep. I have sleeping pills if you need them. While you're sleeping you'll sort of float from your body in a dream with the relic around your neck-the soul in it currently has the relic's form. I'll guide you from there step by step." Rouge made sure there was a place for Nadine to sleep and a crib to put the baby before the two fell asleep, leaving their bodies but conscious of it. And when the door appeared Rouge was right there with Nadine to tell her to open it."But brace yourself for what you'll see."
Nadine did as she was told, opting the sleeping pills. They must have been fairly powerful for she fell asleep quickly one the bed. Before she even registered she was asleep, she was floating above her own body. She gasped at the sight before Rouge's words made her turn toward the door. Alright, she could do this. Brace herself? She'd do her best... "Alright..." she choked out before putting her hands on the handles and opening the door with all of her might.
Rouge followed her. They found themselves in a strange room. A young man lay on the ground. He was thin and muscular and had a kind face. But there were marks upon his face and body. He lay in the middle of what looked like a city street where he'd been walking. His body didn't' look like it'd been run over but it wasn't apparent what had happened. Rouge recognized him-having been taught a good bit about the Tison gods by her adoptive parents-her intake of breath let Nadine know it she knew. But she wouldn't say unless asked.
The poor girl was already in near spirit tears. "That poor man..." She whispered then looked to Rouge. "Is this him? Who is he?" They were desperate sounding questions but she was scared. To gain a child she had to see a dead man? Is that what rebirth was?
"Yes. That is Evonik. He was god of Loneliness. He could create or abate it. He was a friendly person but was stoned to death by his friends when the evil god Jujike told them that he was going to use his powers to make them lonely." she said sadly. "You have to touch his skin in some way so he can be reborn and can have a new life."
Nadine slowly floated over to him and knelt down. "You poor soul..." She wiped her eyes then touched his face to move the hair out of his eyes. Suddenly she seemed to get angry. "How could they blame you for such a thing! I'll make sure you have a perfect life so you never end up hurt again!"
And as she touched him the body and relic began to glow. The necklace as if made of light shot from her neck and into his now glowing form. It was kind of like an evolution. But the form got smaller instead. And when the glow stopped there lay a small baby boy looking up at her. He had big eyes and a sweet face. With a soft smile he reached for Nadine. Rouge smiled. "You can't protect him from the world but you can give him the love he never got."
She gathered the baby in her arms just as Rouge had taught her and stared at his loving gray eyes. "Mon petit bébé..." The blond hugged him to her self and felt like sobbing. It wasn't fair for such innocence to be harmed so badly. "I won't let anything happen to him." She corrected Rouge with a deep determination. Nothing was going to hurt her baby.
"I'll talk to you about that later." the woman said, with the discipline to know that now was not the time. She led the girl back to the room so the two could return to their bodies and wake up.
About this time Dia woke up again and started to coo when he saw the new baby.
Rouge smiled. "Think you can let him down to play with Dia for a bit while we talk? We need to have a discussion about what you said. There's something you don't quite realize yet."
Nadine cradled the boy in her arms before reluctantly putting him down with Dia. She watched him intently.
Ezhno stared at Dia and cooed back. He reached his hand out to Dia, blowing bubbles.
Dia giggled and reached his hand out to the other too. The two boys began to play with some plush blocks Rouge gave them to mess with and a teddy bear. The younger boy would obviously be fine.
Rouge sat Nadine down on the bed and smiled. "Hon I know you love your child and want to protect him but there are some things you need to understand about raising kids. Now we're both only children and we've never had kids before but one thing I know-and my mother has told me this many times-is living beings have to experience pain to grow and survive. While loving your child and wanting to protect them is a good thing, over protecting them can actually hurt your kid severely in their life."
"I'm not going to over protect him! I just won't let him end up like that poor man..." The tears fell freely now. Her mouth felt dry from the thing she'd witnessed. "It wasn't right... it wasn't fair... He wouldn't make other's lonely..." Her voice quivered as her body was racked with sobs. Death scared her. That's why she hadn't been able to jump.
"He was that poor man honey. But luckily he doesn't remember it. And he'll be happy now." she said softly hugging the girl to her like a mother would.
"You don't quite understand what his powers were so I'll explain what them. He made others feel loneliness and he could abate it when it was too extreme and not actually necessary. But it wasn't because he liked that people felt lonely because he was very lonely himself. His powers made him not easy to like. His job was to make people who were completely by themselves feel lonely so that they'd need to go and seek out other people. After all if no one felt lonely they wouldn't want to be together because there'd be nothing to keep them from being apart. And then love couldn't thrive. And he also had to abate loneliness in people who were in good situations and didn't realize how well loved they were. But his friends didn't know that because he thought if he told them what his powers and job were they wouldn't like him so Jujike was able to trick them. If he knows that his job is good when his powers return and has someone to love him and guide him then he'll be okay and he won't end up like that again." the told the girl with a smile. She understood how that worked.
Nadine nodded in understanding and smiled at her new charge. She'd be the perfect mother. "I'll ... do the best I can for him." She replied wiping her eyes and smiling at Rouge. "That God sounds evil... I hope he got what he deserved for hurting those Gods...."
"........no actually. He's still in power. Which is why the reborn gods have to be raised by gaians and people who live on gaia or the Samadueanna. He can't get to either. If they were raised in Tison they'd be dead in an instant. They were reborn to stop him. And they will punish him severely. Don't you worry." Rouge said with a smile.
"I hope they do..." She replied then stared at her baby, enjoying himself. "He doesn't know any of this? Won't it shock him?"
"The baby? No he doesn't' remember any of it right now. He's got no memories, no powers and looks the most human right now. I don't know about when he's older." Rouge said with a smile. "But you are lucky about one thing. He's not related to you. Did you notice that Dia looked like me?"
"Yah... is he your real son?" She asked studying the two of them. They did look so similar. They had to be related.
"No actually. He's a god child just as yours is. It's actually the other way around. Apparently my father was the fire god Deiyya. And the baby in the crib with yours is the reborn form of the father I never got to know. He was murdered when I was a baby. And the only time in my life that I've seen what he actually looked like was when I saw his body the night I got Dia." Rouge had a strange look on her face then but she smiled afterwards. "Anyway he's a sweetie as a baby. I'm sure he would have been great as a daddy too."
Nadine nodded and gave the woman a sympathetic smile. "At least... you still have him. The fact that he bonded with your soul means he loves you, right?" She yawned slightly and frowned. "I need to get home soon. The maid will have finished dinner soon."
"Yeah. I'll send you back." the woman said, lifting the paler skinned boy from the crib. Ezhno had gotten friendly enough with Dia for the two to actually have been playing with his plush animal blocks when he had to leave. "We'll have to see you two again." Rouge said with a grin. And with that Nadine was sent back home, baby going along with her.
"I really don't like that feeling..." She muttered rubbing her head with her free hand. Wait! Her crib and the stuff she was supposed to get... Had Rouge forgotten it?
Ezhno yawned and curled up in his new mother's arms, contently. He closed his gray eyes and fell asleep.
"I'll make sure... you're safe, my little one." Nadine picked up the list of names she'd gotten from the baby book. "Loneliness hm? Then I shall call you by an Indian name, Ezhno. He walks alone."
But there it was before her in another moment. All the baby stuff she had had and more arrived just as it was supposed to, with an illusion blanket from Rouge to help her hide him. And with that the rp is le finito. biggrin

"Hush little angel, don't you cry. I will lead you into the starlit night. Upon thy steed thy shall fly. Against the winds and above the sky. So come with me my little one, the loneliness will burn in the sun."
"Nadine? Madame? Are you feeling well? I keep hearing you sing those God awful nursery rhymes." The maid harped from behind the large wooden door. "What are you doing in there?"
Nadine nearly yelped but covered her mouth with her free hand. Good, Ezhno hadn't woken up from the rude interruption. She placed the boy down in his crib and stroked his soft hair. "Nothing! I'm merely uh.. making up songs." That weren't 'Godawful', thank you very much.
"See to it that you're down for dinner on TIME. Oh and please keep that stupid crying doll of yours on mute. You can't be THAT bored."
"Thank you Madelaine." The blond agreed rather bluntly, covering her baby with the blanket that kept him so well hidden. It had saved both her and the baby six times now. She kept count. The echo of the footsteps descending down the hall and the stairs and the teenager finally relaxed.
"You're gonna get caught, Ezhno." Her hazel eyes drifted to a black bag, stuffed to the brim with 'runaway items'. Clothes, baby stuff, Rouge's number, and even a few cans of food were all tucked inside its compartments. At anytime she felt her child was threatened she was ready to run.
He was her everything now.

Rouge smiled and walked over to the woman. "Hey Nadine. How is motherhood treating you?" she said with a grin, sitting down on the end of the bed and letting Diyaka down so he could give Ezhno his present. The other baby got a gift! And Rouge had a bag full of goodies for the boy and his mama.
"Its going fine! My maid suspects though I'm sure... she's being more frequent then normal." The teenager admitted with a smile, looking to her little boy.
Ezhno yawned and rubbed his eye with his hand before blinking at the new visitors. "Mama...?" He asked shoving his thumb into his mouth along with the tip of his blanket.
The new mother clapped her hands together. "That's right! I meant to call you! He said his first word!"
Rouge smiled and nodded. "Yeah that happens." she said with a laugh. "oh and we brought you some things, including a present that Dia picked out for Ezzie." she said, prompting the little boy. The black haired deity crawled forward and handed Ezhno his gift bag. Inside was a lovely green squishy to match his dark hair.
The boy stared at it for a moment before taking the new gift with a squeal. He latched onto it and automatically began to teeth one one of the arms with a wide grin. The boy babbled a few incoherent words then reached out to touch Dia. "maa.."
Dia giggled. "Foof!' he said and hugged Ezhno
"AHH boys are hugging!" Nadine halfway cried, watching the two of them.
Ezzie giggled and hugged the other boy back clumsily, the squishy hindering the movement ever so slightly. "Foof!" He repeated with another loud laugh. Enzho took this time to study his new playmate and touched his soft hair with a cooing sound. He liked the hug and the toy AND Dia's hair!
Rouge cracked up. "Yeah that happens a lot with Dia. He's very affectionate." she knew something Nadine didn't about who Dia'd been in his past life but if she got worked up over two cute baby boys hugging each other she'd practically die when she heard that Deiyya had been the most blatantly homosexual deity.
Dia giggled and batted his eyelashes like Tan Pan did when she was flirting with Steve as a joke. He was a very silly baby and would probably end up being a very flirty teen some day.
Enzho held up his squishy and covered his face with it shyly before gnawing on its head. He thought Dia was funny! With careful consideration he picked up one of his toy balls from the floor and worked hard to hold it up to Dia. Would he want to play the roll the ball game? It was really fun!
"Well, I guess its alright.... boys kiss in France but still..." She frowned and picked up a 'how to keep your child safe' book from her desk. "Oh! Its good to have children hug! That's good then." She smiled brightly and placed it back down. "So what goodies did I get?"
Rouge snickered a bit about the book. "Hon you don't need those books seriously. Keeping tidy and using common sense keeps kids safe. Now let's see here." reaching into her bags she pulled out several goodies. There were a few play clothes for Ezhno, some for Nadine-how Rouge knew her size one never knew-a tin of homemade brownies and cookies that she and Dia had made for them, and some other assorted things. There was also a little "baby sitting" certificate and a gift certificate for a full package weekend at some Tison Spa
"That's amazing!" Nadine ogled at the new 'toys' in her possession and took each gingerly. "You really didn't have to do all of this but its so amazing!" She tasted one of the cookies and beamed slightly before walking over to Enzho and having him a small piece. He held his mouth open and let her insert the new treat before squealing in the same fashion as his 'mother'.
Oh God, she was tainting him already.
Dia giggled and crawled over to take the ball and roll it to Ezhno. He likes these games! But Feejhu never wanted to play. She was more interested in sitting on her mama's lap and getting her hair played with and made pretty. Dia liked looking pretty too but he likes doing other things to.
Rouge practically snorted at the mental image of an older Ezhno his squeals gave her. Oh he'd be a fruity one.
"Wasn't that so adorable?!" The young French woman bounced back to Rouge and beamed. "He's helped me so much... I feel so happy with him even when he's being a royal brat! I haven't seen any of his powers yet, though... when does he get those?"
"No clue. So far we've got 3 kids to toddler and none have any real powers showing either. He probably won't get them for a while."
"Maybe it won't start until they're teenagers? That makes sense..." She sighed contently, "Powers or not, I love him just the way he is... though he does seem to stare off a lot."
As if he knew they were talking about him, he paused in the ball rolling to look up at Rouge, even now surrounded with all of these actions, his eyes held a placid, understanding look. He'd be intelligent, that was for sure.
"Eh I dunno why that is. They're all different. Dia's a spazz. He can't stay on the same activities for long." she said with a shrug. Nope no clue why he'd stare off. Dia did a lot of bouncing around and she couldn't explain that.
Nadine gave a shrug of her own and sat down on the edge of her bed. "How long are the two of you staying today?"
"Depends on how long you'd like us to. I was planning on inviting you and Ezzie to go to Gamacon with me. That's where the spa on your certificate but it's the Tison Oceanic realm and is covered with great beaches. The boys would probably have a blast and we could teach them to swim."
"What's 'Gamacon?'" She asked tilting her head to the side. Somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered if her parents or maid would wonder if she was missing but those thoughts weren't important anymore. Enzho, Rouge, and her son were what had to be important. Her smile grew with each passing second as if to combat the evil things brewing in her head.
"Gamacon is the Tison Oceanic realm. as I said. It's a planet that's pretty much all beaches and sun."
"Oh..." The woman stood up and glanced at her son. "So... how long would we be gone for?"
"Eh probably the rest of the day. I can get us there in about an hour in my cruiser and then we can play till the end of the day when we can get dinner and I can bring you back. I'd say you'd wanna tell your family you're going out for the rest of the day to see a picture show or go to the library or something."
"I guess so....Could you watch him really fast?" Without waiting for an answer the young woman darted out of the room to find her maid. As always, her parents weren't home so all she had to worry about was that maid. After the woman's agreement, Nadine came back ten minutes later with a large smile on her face. "She said it was alright but I could tell she just was happy to have the house to herself."
Rouge smiled and nodded. "Okie you go out the regular way. I'll take Ezzie and Dia out via cloaking spell." she said and picked up the two boys and suddenly the three vanished. But from the space where they'd been Rouge's voice was heard. "After you." "Er alright..." They left the house without trouble. The maid gave a gruff few words in French but otherwise it was uneventful. Now that she was outside her house, she stared at the place she was almost sure she died. Had that happened? She just couldn't remember it clearly... With a shake of her head she went back to the hyper happy girl she was. "This is going to be so much fun!"
Ezzie stared at Dia from under the cloak and held onto his squishy for dear life. So much was happening today!
Rouge led her way over to an area out of view of the house after she'd reappeared. With a click of something like a house key a giant silver egg like thing which opened to revealed a large circular plush backseat with a small section in the middle that looked like a donut hole that went down so you could sit comfortably or lie down. In front of it was a higher backed car seat type thing and a complex control panel in front of it where the pilot sat. Rouge hopped in and indicated that the girl could get in. "If you look around you'll find the mini fridge. There are cold drinks in there." She said, turning around to deposit the boys in the back. "It's completely plush so they'll be fine unbelted. Plus it's not really like a car. The ride is smoother." Rouge told Nadine as the girl climbed in and the captain shut the top-a strange windshield like thing seeming to be in front of Rouge's control panel on the top part of the ship-this screen hadn't been visible from the opaque outside.
Nadine stood and stared at the invention in front of her. It was... she didn't even have words or SOUNDS to describe what was in front of her. She just gawked. That was until Rouge spoke and jolted her out of her little world. "I ...this....is....holy...I mean...." Slowly the girl got in, still awestruck by what was happening. She KNEW this woman was different but to have such a creation? It paled in comparison to the hazy ship visit. Her instincts took over and Nadine glanced to Enzho to make sure he was safe.
The boy giggled and snuggled up to Dia. He was a little scared but at least someone else was there to play with.
Dia knew his Mommy's ship well. He climbed onto one of the big plush seats and pulled Ezzie close near him. This was gonna be fun! All of Dia's toys were here! He could play with Ezzie some more!
Rouge smiled. "It's hard to get used to at first. Watch the windows. You'll see some of the Tison worlds."
Nadine did as she was told, focusing on the windows rather then the strange device they were in.
Ezzie cooed and hugged his squishy close to himself and to Dia. 'Mama?" He asked the strange boy since it was one of the few words he knew.
Dia giggled and pointed at Nadine. "Your Mama." he said
As they zoomed more forward, several worlds came into view-surprisingly Rouge had gone through a space shortcut so it didn't take long to see Tison. The worlds were lovely but by far the prettiest one visible was a lovely world that looked like one of those carribean cruise commercials with the gorgeous beaches and pretty shade of blue water. It was one of those as a planet. "That's Gamacon." Rouge said with a nod.
"Wow...." Nadine whispered scooting closer to the view. "Its so pretty! It looks like somewhere I've always wanted to visit and then some."
Enzho nodded to himself and tried another. "Mine!" He half squealed pointing at Dia. Everything belonged to him anyway so why not Dia? He did like the other boy a great deal. He held up his squishy before declaring that his in the same tone.
"I figured you'd like it. I enjoy bringing friends here. It's rather nice." Rouge said with a nod.
Dia giggled then pointed at Ezhno. "Mine!" he laughed then picked up his kitty plushie and also declared that his.
As they started to land, Nadine glanced back at her 'son'. He was so adorable the way he had made a friend so quickly. He would never be lonely. "Do you really think he's the God of Loneliness? He seems so friendly and outgoing to me..." The mother sighed and stared down at the planet. A thought stuck her, "Which planet is Ezhno from?"
"I do. It had nothing to do with his personality. It was just his powers that deemed him god of lonliness. And I don't know what race he is. You'd haev to ask Dartsmoore. She'd be able to tell you." Rouge said, climbing out after parking the ship. They were on a gorgeous beach, away from any crowds with a resort like thing all to themselves.
Dia took Ezzie's hand and helped him out. It was time to play in the sand!
"Dartsmore? Who's he?" Nadine asked half interested in the answer, the rest of her current attention was focused on the beach. "Wow..."
Ezzie shied behind Dia as he watched the waves. He was scared of this new place and he wasn't sure he liked it. He squealed softly and squeezed his best friend's hand. "Mama....."
"Dartsmoore is my g-my associate. She's the ship's tactician. Her family were in charge of Tison's history. A Dartsmoore or a Dahi-a race of beings who were archivists-would know what species a deity was."
Diyaka smiled and took the boy to the water, putting his kitten on top of his bucket and leaving squishy with it. "They keep company. Don't wanna get wet." he said with a nod before leading the other boy to the edge of the water. It was a beautiful light blue and rather shallow. Dia went into the water, his shoes off and danced a bit, trying to encourage Ezzie to come get wet a bit too.
Rouge laughed. "Why don't you boys come and change into shorts and we'll show you how to swim." she said with a smile.
Ezhno let out a squeal of terror when his squishy was taken away from him and an even louder one when Dia went into the water. He covered his mouth with his hands until he realized the seemingly large body of water didn't make him go away. He glanced at Rouge then bolted for her as fast as his chubby legs could carry him, reaching out for her. "Wa-wa's!" He whinnied pointing to the cresting waves.
Rouge laughed and knelt down to pat the little boy on the head. "Ezhno that's water. You drink most kinds but this isn't drinking water. Come on. We're going to go inside and get changed into some things to learn to swim. Don't worry. Your Mama and I are here to help you two in case the waves try to hurt you-which these ones won't. They're gentle ones."
After the boys had been changed into shorts and the two woman changed into their swim suits the boys were taken back to the water, Rouge holding one in each arm so Nadine could get a feel for it's depth before taking her son in. Rouge was 8 feet tall so she could hold them and go pretty deep for a while without the boys getting hurt.
Nadine touched the water with her toe then eased in. Once again Ezzie let out a cry of fear and a even louder one when she dived, disappearing from his view. "Mama! Mama!"
She resurfaced then held out her arms for her son. "He doesn't seem to like water... did his past life like it? Or do you know?"
"I don't really know. Diyaka seems to love it and he was a fire god so you can't really guess." she told Nadine, giving Ezzie to his Mama and helping Dia to float. "though his brother was a water god and had a mertail so Dia may have just liked to swim because he hung with his brotehr till his powers showed up." Rouge dived a bit and showed Dia a little bit of swimming. He liked to splash. That was fun!
Nadine nodded and put her baby in the water, waist deep. He blinked and squealed again before looking at Dia. He was having fun... He hit the water with his hand and found it splashed just like his bathwater. "Wawa!" He cheered excitedly and began to kick and hit the water, trying to make bigger splashes.
"I guess he was just scared." Nadine giggled then looked up at Rouge. "He's so sweet... I feel bad that I have to keep him restricted to my room sometimes."
"Keeping him restricted like that worries me. He's the deity of lonely. If something were to happen that frightened him and made him feel truly lonely he may find a way to use his powers and be found. That could get a bit messy if you don't tell the family." Rouge said before ruffling Ezhno's hair.
Dia splashed Ezhno a bit and bobbed in the water over to his friend to hug him.
Ezzie who was being held in his mother's hands, reached for Dia, unsure how to move in the water substance. "Mine!"
"How would that power get him found? There's no way..." His mother answered, shrugging it off. "I don't think he'll get frightened. Besides, my family doesn't care..."
"Hon, if he's lonely he'll find a way to summon someone to keep him company. And it may not be you who gets the signal." Rouge said, hugging the girl. "Besides you'd be amazed how much parents care."
Dia helped the other baby into the water and with a bit of help from Rouge and Nadine the two were having small swimming contests.
Ezhno had decided while swimming was fun, that he was scared when his feet didn't touch. He latched to Dia and whimpered softly whenever they lost contact.
"Summon someone?" Nadine shook her head. "It'll be fine, you'll see. Ezzie and I will be just fine." She frowned and waded to retrive her baby from Dia.
After a while the four retreated to play in the sand and by the end of the day the girl and her child had fallen asleep and Rouge left them at home. How very sad for Nadine that in a stage or two, the thing she thought was impossible would happen.

[Dg] Ezhno is left alone for a time by Nadine. It is his first true feeling of loneliness in his new life. Write about how he feels, his reaction, and what Nadine's reaction is when she returns to find a toddler
Nadine quickly slipped the covers over Ezzie and smiled at him. "You stay here while I eat dinner, okay? I'll be back I promise." She kissed his forehead then placed a binki in his mouth.
The baby just stared back at her with his wide purple eyes. His arms were fastened securely around his Squishy and holding it close. "Mmam?" He whined in confusion.
The new mother just shook her head and left the room. A few seconds later it clicked with the sound of a strong lock. The baby was left alone.
Ezhno was fine... for the first ten minutes. While playing he'd dropped his binky and was unable to reach it. Where was his mother? Why wasn't she coming to rescue his toy from the floor? He waited and still she didn't not come and solve his problem.
Something raced through the normally calm baby. A fear followed by a deep and searching burn. Anger. He was angry because she wasn't here! He was also sad... sad that she wasn't paying attention to him. Sad because her soothing voice was absent from the room.
"Mama!" He half shouted, kicking out his feet. No one answered. He began to scream and cry, throwing his other toys out of the crib. "MAMA! MAMA!"
While his cries were the same phrase the meaning changed with each strangled shout.
"MAMA!" Don't leave me alone, I'm scared.
"MAMA!" I hate this! Why did you leave me?!
"MAMA!" This feeling hurts me all over! Make it stop!
He continued to scream and cry, trying to get his mother's attention in anyway possible but the house was large and his cries were in vain.
A half an hour later Nadine rushed up the stairs. She sensed something amiss. She fumbled with the lock and slowly stepped into the disaster that was the room. The blankets, toys, and everything that had been within the baby's reach was smashed against the ground. The boy himself was ... different... his eyes were puffy and red from all of his crying, his bed spread was destroyed but... the thing that threw her off...
Eznho was no longer a little baby boy... he was a toddler. The poor child had exhausted himself into a deep sleep but had also grown. Nadine rushed over and picked him carefully up, cradling him. "Did that hurt you? Did that change make you cry?" She whispered softly but the boy did not stir. In his sleep he contently held his Squishy and leaned into his mother. He would never let her leave him again.

Three of a KindRandy2love Nadine brought her babe into the playroom and sat down on the floor. At first she had struggled against going somewhere where her baby could be hurt but one tour of the room had changed the over protective parent's mind.Ezzie was busy showing his Squishy, a green bean bag doll, a play block. He was bored. So far he'd only played with Dia and right now not even he was there to keep him company. "Pway...?" He asked his mother. The teenage woman stared at the toys at a loss. If only there were other kids around to keep him company. Orpheus Solon "Its just for a little while, Shin and I need to go out and get some shopping done it will be easier with the two of you here safely on the ship." Keiji was explaining as he lead Vishal along by his hand and carried Kris in his arms. The small, odd girl was babbling happily to herself as they walked along towards the playroom while Vishal glared. "The twins aren't here." He complained. "The twins aren't Godlings. You two have more of a right to hang out here. The two of them are working anyway at cleaning up their room. You merely have to play and keep Kris from crying." Keiji looked at the door to the play room for a long moment before he looked at Vishal, "Can you open the door for me?" Vishal looked like he was going to protest... then gave in as he juggled what was in his hand over to his shoulder before he reached out to open the door, "I don't want to." He muttered about the staying here with Kris more then the opening of the door. This wasn't at all fair! His long tail set to lashing in an angry sort of way as he was given a little push inside. "Please behave." The angel implored him. Randy2love Nadine glanced up and nearly screamed. A monster! A monster was in here with her baby! She scooped Ezzie up in her arms, backing away from the thing that just entered. Ezzie wasn't so afraid. He stared at the creature and registered a playmate. His violet eyes glimmered in joy at the prospect of a new friend. "Pway!" He shouted to the tailed creature. "Pway game?" "NO!" His mother hissed trying to keep her baby from reaching toward the ...thing. "Its a monster! I thought this place was safe!" Orpheus Solon Vishal's eyes went a bit wide as he looked over at the woman then gave her a bit of a dark smirk, tail swishing, "Thats GOD of Monsters thank you." He murmured, since discovering this he had been a bit... pleased with the title. It made sense why Gel followed him around so blindly and listened to all he said and agreed no matter what it was he thought to himself. Now that he ran across someone afraid of him... this was nice. Keiji reached out to lay a hand on Vishal's head then looked at Nadine, "Please, my son is a handful but he's no monster." Well... not for the most part at least he could be really sweet when he wanted too. As per always as she was to young to understand Kri was oblivious and was watching to the other baby, cute! "Kya!" She called over to him. Randy2love Finding that he was a God... and that he had a parent, she let her guard down slightly. She eyed what she considered a hellion then lowered Ezzie to the floor. "God... of monsters? What... kind of God is that?"Ezzie took off as soon as he was on the ground toward the new playmates. He wanted to touch and pull Vishal's tail! With a giggle he waved his arms enthusiastically. "Wanna pway with me?" He hid his face shyly behind his Squishy.

Icy for FourRandy2love Nadine walked with her little boy, holding his hand as he pointed to the many things around him. After the trip to the beach, he was hungry for something cold. "That," She pointed to a rabbit as it bounced along, "is a bunny..." "Buhay!" Ezzie repeated as best as he could, pointing again. The mother just shook her head with a smile and was pulled off. "Want some ice cream?" She asked in a soft whisper. Receiving a fast series of nods she walked to a vendor and ordered an icy pop. It had plastic and wouldn't melt as quickly as regular ice cream. "Icy Cream!" The boy shouted shoving the freshly opened pop into his mouth.
Nadine giggled slightly and moved him over to a bench. The two sat in silence, Ezzie swinging his feet back and forth and his mother relaxing with a book she'd taken with her. "How much longer can I keep you hidden...." The question lingered longer then it should have as she ruffled his hair. Rose with Thorns Zelda sighed. She had no idea how much work this child would be. She almost had convinced herself that this was just a babysitting gig. But the truth sunk in too fast when Elpheba didn't come down immediately when Jake, Zelda's crush, was throwing the child up and down playfully. Luckily she got her out of there fast, but now the kid was growing restless again, kicking in Zelda's backpack, which was already opened so she could keep her head poked out. "Ow, stop it! Just, settle - fine, Elphie, you win. Down you go." She groaned, as she stooped down and dropped the burden from her shoulders, knowing, somehow, that the girl would never hit the ground. She turned around, and was right. She could hear the whir of the babe's wings even beneath the colorful beanie she put over them. She picked Elpheba up and slung her bag back over one shoulder and continued walking. The little girl smiled mischieviously, both her green eyes shut, but not for long. Zelda stopped a few minutes later and plopped onto an empty bench, the girl in her arms. "What am I going to do with you?" she asked, as if the girl could answer. Then she looked over to the side and saw an ice cream place, she placed Elpheba on the bench and looked at her, "Stay right here, and I'll come right back with a treat. Don't move." She wagged her finger in warning, then turned away to go buy some ice cream.Elpheba didn't like the idea of her mommy leaving her, and wanted to follow her. But she was so tiny and her mommy was going too fast. It was useless. She looked like she was going to cry.. Randy2love The toddler looked up and tilted his head at the little baby sitting on the bench. Without a word he bounced off his bench and walked up, holding out his icy pop. "Icy cream?" It took Nadine a minute to realize that her 'son' had disappeared. She glanced over to him from her book to realize her silent kid had walked off. The blond dropped the book in fear before spotting him. Oh good, he was just feeding babies....FEEDING BABIES?! Nadine let out a choked squall and rushed over. "What's wrong, Ezzie?""This baby... She wanna cry...." He replied and frowned at Elpheba. "I wonder where her mother is..." Nadine knelt down with a smile. "Don't cry little one..." Rose with Thorns The girl instantly giggled when the boy came up offering her his icy pop. She didn't feel like crying anymore. And she giggled even more when her mommy turned around offering her some ice cream like the boy's, only in a cup with a thingy.Zelda walked back over to Elpheba, who now had two others hovering around her. She felt slightly unnerved, especially after her earlier incident with Jake around Elpheba. Still, she smiled friendly at the two, "Hello." She observed them. The boy had pointy ears...kinda like Elphie did. "I'm sorry if she caused you any trouble, I just turned away for a second." Zelda sat down on the bench and Elpheba reached her hands out toward her, so she scooped up the girl onto her lap and began to feed her the quickly melting ice cream from the cup with the wooden spoon. "I'm Zelda, by the way, and this, is Elpheba." She smiled as Elphie happily gummed the spoon. "No, eat the ice cream, silly." she laughed at the child as she scooped up another bite of ice cream for her. Randy2love Ezzie plopped himself down by Zelda and watched her feed the baby. He smiled, the loneliness was gone! He smiled up at the motherly figure. Now he had his Squishy securely in his arms while sucking in his icy pop. "Hiya!" He giggled softly. "No trouble at all. Ezzie here just saw her about to cry and ran over before I could stop him." She placed a hand on the boy's head. "Are..." She glanced again at the girl's pointed ears. "Are you a guardian by chance?" Ezzie grinned, that meant that the baby was one of his kind.. whatever that was. He shoved his purple pop into his mouth and chewed on it, trying to make it all liquid. Rose with Thorns Zelda looked up at the girl. That's what that little boy called her... "Um...I guess so." Then all of a sudden her eyes lit up, "Does that mean you are too?" She hoped that if the boy was what this girl was guardianing, maybe she could give her some tips with Elphie! The baby in her arms, which she momentarily forgot about, reminded Zelda she was there by swinging and kicking angrily. Zelda quickly removed the spoon from the infant's mouth. "Sorry.." she sweatdropped. Kids weren't exactly her specialty.. Randy2love "Yah! I've had this little brat for a while now...." She sat down on the other side of Zelda and smiled. "Would you like some help? I'm sure Rouge can help you like she did me. She even gave me supplies.""Dia! Dia!" The boy squealed hugging his Squishy close to him. "Dia gave me Squishy!""And gave him a toy..." Nadine chuckled into her hand and tilted her head to the side at Elphie. "Have you received her number? If not I have it." Rose with Thorns Elphie looked at the boy snuggling his squishy-thingy and reached out for it curiously."Rouge? I don't think I met that person.." she looked down and patted Elphie on the head absently. "It was a small boy..." She stopped as the boy shouted out Dia. "Dia... that was his name.. just a child... and I thought it was just a dream." She sighed. "Apparently not though." Zelda tried to feed Elphie more but she just started fussing again until the cup landed on top of the little boy's head. Zelda stood up right away, with Elpheba in arms, "Omigosh! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" She asked the boy, as Elpheba was in a giggling fit. Randy2love "Dia is her son... Well, who she's the guardian of. " The French woman clicked her tongue against her teeth. "She's the one who explained the situation to me." She fished into her pocket for her cellphone "Oh no!" She yelped worriedly as the cup landed on Ezzie's head.Ezhno blinked in surprise as the cold stuff ran down his curly hair and into his face. "..." He slowly reached up, took the cup in his hand and held it back up to Zelda. "You made an oopsy." He replied innocently with a smile. "Ezzie... now you need a bath...""Bath!"She sighed and used a napkin on his hair, handing the cellphone to Zelda. "The number's in there. Its under 'Rouge'."

The Finding
"Ezhno, stay here... mommy has to attend to something downstairs." Nadine sat him down on her bed with his toys and a few books. He could entertain himself and that would keep him from getting upset. "I won't be gone very long, I promise." She darted out in a flutter to see her parents, leaving the poor boy to his own devices.
An hour later he was still to his own devices and not a happy camper. He was told never to yell but was getting inpatient. He jumped off the bed knocking the things onto the floor. "Mommy!" He half shouted and tried to half whisper. She didn't come. The familiar feeling started to come back and he frowned, trying to reach the doorknob. Darn, too short.
Ten minutes later, he decided she's been gone long enough. He wanted his mother and he wanted her now. He hated being alone in this big room. The owls were making scary hooting noises and dogs were barking and-- He held his Squishy tighter and wished Dia was there. At least then they could play.
Now his pain was compounded. He had TWO people he wanted in that room right now and it seemed awfully big and overbearing to the boy. He whimpered and started to pace. He fiddled with the blanket that made him disappear, and in sighed heavily.
Something happened. He felt the strongest desire to be near someone, anyone. It was overtaking him completely and he could feel it spreading out like tentacles, tugging on anyone one they could find. He felt it touch someone, a lady. His mommy? He couldn't be sure. Either way the tentacle wrapped around her and whispered for her to come.
Malenda distractedly looked away from the current conversation with her daughter. She stood and started to walk away. Something told her that something bad was happening this way. It was a clenching in her gut and a terrible aching in her heart. Someone... or something was hurt.
"Mom? Are you alright?"
The adult held up her hand to silence her daughter and followed the source. She was led to Nadine's room but didn't register that's what it was right away.
Nadine was about to steer her mother away but was caught off guard by the explosion of power in the room. It wasn't big but she hadn't been expecting it either. Her mom had already opened the door and ventured inside by the time she recovered.
"Oh Nadine..." Malenda whispered softly, "Who's little boy is this?" She picked up Ezzie and smiled down at him. The power in the room disappeared and Nadine said her fatal words:
"He's mine."
=====
Nadine was choked with tears by the time she called Rouge. Her voice was all but gone. Ezhno was curled up in Nadine's mother's arms and was watching his mother sadly. When she cried he found himself upset and doing the same thing. "Mama...?" He asked with sadness echoing hers.
"Hurry up. Call that woman. Tell her that you can't be a lifetime baby sister for her ******** kid." Her father, a large burly man, was pissed to say the least. He was glaring at full force, having taken on the understanding that the child belonged to a friend who couldn't take care of her own damned kid.
"I-am-..." She whispered between sobs, staring at her son and trying to smile.
"Honey... you're scaring the little boy..." The mother whispered, touching his hair.
"So? He shouldn't even BE here!"
Rouge picked up the phone rather quickly. "Hallo? Nadine what's the problem?" she asked, her tone was worried. For some reason she knew something was up.
"My-my parents found him....I ...I can't keep him any longer... could you please come? Hurry." The desperation was lining her voice. She was fearful as she had never seen her father angry before.
It was amazing how advanced the ship could be. Within a second of the phone being hung up, there was an 8 foot woman glowering down at Nadine's father. Rouge's height was not humanly possible, which was explained by the fact that she wasn't human. And when an 8 foot half deity alien is glaring down at you and you aren't something like a wyvern or a demon then you are gonna back down a bit.
"Now what is all this about Ezhno." she asked, giving a deadly toothy grin that Nadine had never seen her give before. This was not the Rouge she knew. This was an annoyed Rouge. How she'd gotten so angry so fast was strange. But it was obvious that she was here to do business.
The mother yelped and backed away, frightened at her sudden appearance in both aspects. The father wasn't nearly so easily intimidated but also took many steps backward. "Who the-- WHAT the hell are you?!" He shouted, standing in front of his wife and looking to see if Nadine was alright passed the giant of a woman.
"My name is Rouge. And I am captain of the Samadueanna. I apologize for seeming a bit temperamental. I had just finished an argument with an associate before Nadine called so I was a bit fired up." she said, her hair seeming to relax back to it's usual bouncy nature and her height suddenly seeming less intimidating. And those eyes-once red-turned blue once more. A cheerful bright shimmery blue. "What do you need?" she said, smiling once more.
"Capitan of the wha--?" The man was advancing again, trying to make himself seem taller and more threatening to the woman. "What the hell are you doing in my house? If this kid belongs to you take it and get out."
Nadine let out another small cry. Eznho reached for Rouge, wanting him to comfort his mother. "Mommy's sad... make her better Aunty Rouge?" It was something his mother taught him to say. She thought 'Aunty' fit well since Rouge had done so much to help them.
"The child is not mine. He is from my home world but he is Nadine's by a bond neither he nor she was aware of. Taking him from her would most likely kill him. I am sure that there is another way for this to work out. What are your objections to his being here. I shall see what I can do to remedy them."
"Home world? Listen, I don't know what kinds of things you kids are smoking these days-" He gave her a breif once over as if to prove his point before continuing, "but kids don't die when they're removed from their babysitters. Hell, she's too young to even have this kid! She's a kid herself!"
Rouge was getting annoyed again. Reaching out a hand she picked Nadine's father up by his collar and raised him up to her eye level. "You have no idea what you are dealing with here, little man. You don't have a normal child right now. Nadine is the guardian of a reborn god. And reborn gods do die when their guardian is taken from them for the most part. Nadine did not give birth to him, but she is caring for him and will be till he grows more. These children grow fast and I am sure that he will be grown and out of your hair before long. And from what I hear I don't see why you care what Nadine is doing." the woman said, her eyes seeming to hint at red again.
"Rouge..." Nadine finally spoke up, grabbing at the woman's arm. "Please, don't... leave him alone..."
The father's eyes bugged as she lifted him. "God? She's got a GOD?" Not finding any reason to DOUBT the story since he was HANGING from his collar, he started to panic. "Why her? Why can't you find someone else? I care about my daughter's welfare!"
"We didn't choose her. It's an unknown force that believed that Nadine was meant to be a guardian. Whatever is controlling the choosing has to kill the guardian, take their soul to bond with a deity that feels akin to that soul for some reason and then it revives them on my ship. Nadine is currently guardian to the god of Loneliness. Now as I said, there should be a perfectly logical way to make everyone happy.
If you wouldn't mind calming down, having a seat and talking about a solution then I'll put you down and we can try to figure out way that makes everything work. I know for a fact that we can't take Ezhno from her but there's got to be something that will work out. What do you think?" she asked in the gentler tone again, eyes still holding their hue and her grip not loosening. She'd put him down when she was sure he could behave.
The man glanced over at his daughter and got a confirming nod. His eyes traveled to the wailing boy in his wife's arms. His ears were pointed... and he did have a strange air about him. "He'll die if they split...?" He repeated slowly, making sure his words were accurate. He gave an annoying click of his tongue. "Can't you give him to someone else? She's too young for this..."
"I cannot." Rouge told him shaking her head. "Not at his age. He's become too attached to Nadine, physically and spiritually."
What do you suggest then?" He spat, obviously being rude was part of his personality. Nadine slipped over to her mother and tried to shush the crying child. The mother was scared but didn't pull the boy away.
"I would suggest that Nadine and Ezhno join my crew. I'm positive that there would be a job that Nadine can do there. For example we will be in need of a basic English teacher for some time. She can learn a bit about having a job and such responsibilities and she can keep Ezhno. She'd be able to return whenever she wanted and you guys could come to visit her as well. I could show you guys around the ship if you want an idea about the place she'd be living and about what kind of care the both of them will receive."
Nadine gasped slightly. She opened her mouth to reply but her father cut her off.
"A ship? What he hell are you pirates?" The man crossed his arms the best he could and gave a shake of his head. "No, I will NOT allow my daughter to go gallivanting around on some stupid ship. She can keep the runt here."
The mother was an observer. To her surprise, at the banning of going to the ship... Nadine deflated like her dreams had been crushed. The God of Loneliness... she stared down at his desperate struggle to get to his mother but not cry out and bother the grown-ups. He was in tears, she was in tears.... it wasn't fair. "Nathan.... Let's let them go."
"What?!" He tried to round on his wife but was still held in place by Rouge. "Let them go?!"
"Nadine.... needs this."
The blond teen jerked her head up and stared at her mother with glistening eyes. "Mom..."
"Good luck, Mon petit bébé "
Rouge smiled. "I'd answer your question about us being pirates but that's a bit too complicated to explain." she said, putting him down. "As I said, I'll show you to the ship." and in a moment, with a press of a button behind her belt buckle they were standing in a red carpeted hallway of the Samadueanna, one large window beside them with stars passing outside. "Welcome to the Samadueanna." she told the group before her.
"Its so...amazing...." Malenda (Nadine's mother), allowed Ezzie down. She walked to the window and touched it. "You're not human then..." Her eyes glittered for a moment, as if catching a distant memory but she let the small flame die."
The man had started to scream his head off but was silenced by his wife's calm attitude. "Samaduenna?" He blinked in surprise when felt a dark loneliness that he hadn't even known had been on him, disappear as mother and son were reunited. He suddenly felt... better. "He's really got powers?"
"Mama!" He lunged himself at Nadine and tackled her to the floor, hugging her. "Mama, don't cry! I'll make it better!" He grabbed her hand and kissed it. "See? Boo-boo gone!"
Nadine let more tears slip down her face and wrapped her arms around her petit bébé'. "Yes... the hurt is gone."
"Samadueanna." Rouge said again with a nod. "It means Rebirth of the Gods in Dahi. And no I am not human and neither is Ezhno."
Standing up a bit more officially she spoke in a strange tone. "Yes. He does have powers. Ezhno is the reborn god of loneliness from the galaxy of Tison. Tison is a place that was once governed by gods until one betrayed the others. To keep him from destroying that world and taking over the others the gods must be reborn and raised in a place that he cannot reach. He can't leave Tison and he can't get on the ship. So guardians from realms outside of Tison or on this ship were chosen to care for these growing gods. Nadine and myself were two of the people chosen. I will show you all around the ship. I want you to be assured of how safe Nadine and Ezhno will be here." she said cheerfully.
Malenda, who realized how little time they had for their own daughter and seeing her be so happy with her child, nodded. " I think this place is perfect already, but I would love to know more." She gave Rouge a smile that only mother's could share. The want of their child's happiness.
The father sputtered meaningless words. True he didn't spend time with his daughter but he always knew she was safe at home. "But..." He said then let it trail off. He too saw how his daughter was hugging her son. Even if she really wasn't his 'real' mother. He could see it in Nadine's eyes that she thought she was. That she was devoted to him like he had been when she was little. ".... just show us this ship and I'll make my--" His wife coughed. "...- Nadine can make her decision."
Rouge smiled and helped Nadine and Ezhno up. "Follow me then."
The blonde proceeded to show them around. The mess hall-where they got a bite to eat of a batch of cookies that Karyn had just made-, the bridge-where Ezhno got to play in Rouge's captain's chair-, the random quarters around the ship, and then to the two large playrooms. The one was small and padded and had baby toys all around. The other was large and seemed outdoors.
There was a playground, a sandbox, a small lake to swim in, and there on the swings was a little boy of about Ezhno's age with long black hair who sat on the swings. But soon as he saw them he jumped down and ran over. "MOMMY!" he called, latching on to Rouge and hugging her around the middle. Then he spotted Nadine and Ezhno. "Nadine! Ezzie!' he squeaked, rushing over to hug his friends.
Ezzie broke from his mother and met Dia half way. "Dia!" He squealed happily wrapping his arms around his best friend. "mommy was sad but I made it better!" The brown haired boy giggled and nuzzled his new friend. He started suddenly and looked at his hands. "Mommy! Squishy!"
"Oh no..." She keeled down. "Its at my house, my dad took it away, remember? I'm sure Rouge will let us get it." She gave a half smile up at Rouge as if to say 'I wonder what took him so long'.
"This place is amazing..." Nathan muttered staring at the 'outdoors'. "I... " His shoulders sagged slightly but the smile from the adult blond beside him made him nod with new resolve. "I think that... she could stay here..."
"I can?!" Nadine let out a squeal to match her son's then hugged her parents. They seemed shocked then did the same.
Ezzie just smiled and nuzzled Dia. "Happy."
Dia smiled. "That's good." he said with a nod before handing Ezhno his kitten plushie. "Here, you can hold kitty till we get squishy back."
After a bit more touring Nadine's parents were taken home. Rouge and Nadine went back to pack up her and Ezhno's things. Back on the ship Rouge smiled. "Here. I'll show you to your room and introduce you to the staff. Dartsmoore can tell you what race Ezhno is if you like."
Ezzie returned Dia's kitty once his Squishy was returned to him. "Aunty Rouge! Aunty Rouge!" He whined suddenly running up to her. He and Dia had been playing while Rouge and Nadine talked. "I found something bad!" He held up his Squishy and there was a small tear along the neck.
"Oh... my father must have ripped it." Nadine frowned softly. "I'm sorry Ezzie.. we can get you a new one."
"No! I want THIS one. Dia gave it to me!"
"Don't worry. Diyaka and I can fix that can't we Dia?" Rouge said with a smile. The boy nodded enthusiastically. "I apparently got assigned to care for a kid from earth and Diyaka and I made her a snake plushie with material like this. We'll get Squishy fixed up in a jiff. Let's just get into my office."
In Rouge's office there was a small woman behind the desk with HUUGE hair and a book open in front of her. It was brown leather bound but had lovely glossy pages. Glancing up the silver haired woman smiled. "Rouge, Diyaka. And who are these two?"
"This is Nadine, and Ezhno. And the lady with the crazy hair you two see is Dartsmoore" the blond said, nodding to woman and child. "We're looking for my sewing kit to fix Ezzie's plushie. Do you mind keeping them occupied while I do?" she asked the woman.
Dartie nodded and called them over to look at the book wit her. "Come here Ezhno and I'll show you what you used to look like." she said with a grin. Dia rushed over to see as soon as he heard.
"Looked like?" He repeated walking toward the new woman. He was rather nervous of her big hair but a nod from Nadine reassured him she was nice. He reached up his arms to her so he could sit in her lap.
"Um... excuse me Dartsmoore, do you happen to know what um species Ezhno is? I was rather curious as to the planet he came from..." She smiled politely and looked down at Dia, picking him up so he could see too.
The book before Dartsmoore showed a glossy picture of a young man. he had brown hair but his head was cut close and neat so his curls were gone. His eyes were a lovely shade of purple but he had a very wistful look in them and a somewhat sad expression. He wore a loose black shirt and white pants. He sat on a rock on the edge of a lake looking into the water. "He's a half Dahi half Myrimikan." Dartsmoore said calmly, eyes having quickly glanced at the boy.
Rouge stood up in a moment. "All fixed." she told the boy, holding up the toy.
Unable to comprehend the entirety of what he saw, touched the picture. Nothing came to him save for a drifting thought that the man looked familiar. He could only think of one thing to say as he distractedly took his toy and hugged it to his chest: "He looks lonely."
Nadine glanced at Rouge for an explanation on the species but said nothing. Ezzie didn't realize how close he'd hit the mark. She stared at the man in the photo wistfully. "Yah, sweetheart, he does..."
Rouge smiled. "Myrimika is the Tison fresh water realm. It's mainly waterfalls and rivers like you see in the picture. Monks live there usually. And the Dahi are the Tison gatekeepers. A special race of beings who decide which people can go into which realms and other such things. It's an all female race so I'll take it that Ezhno's mother in his past life was a Dahi." she said with a nod, patting the boy's curls.
Dia poked the page. "Show them Deiyya!" and with that the pages flipped to that of a young feminine man with long black hair, deep purple eyes and a gorgeous slender body. he was sitting in an obsidian throne and he wore black leather pants and a vest that only went to just above his abdomen.
Nadine looked at Dia then to Deiyya and back again. For some reason the looks of the adult didn't surprise her in the least. "He's.... very.... pretty?" Unsure of what else to say she sank into the nearest chair and let Dia back on the ground. "So I'm an English teacher now?"
Ezzie clapped his hands and smiled at Dia. "He's very pretty!" The boy smiled at his friend then frowned, glancing down at the paper. Those two... looked VERY similar. He shrugged it off and rubbed his eyes with his hand. He was tired from his long day and while he would never admit it, wanted a nap.
Dia huggled him then yawned. "I wanna take a nap. Want to come see my room?" he offered the other kid. Luckily Dia wasn't Deiyya and Ezhno wasn't that older deity or that would have sounded rather wrong. Rouge smiled and shook her head.
"Yes. Which is good because according to Dartsmoore there's a little girl who only seems to speak French who'll be coming for classes." The yawn was infectious and the boy nodded. "Mama, gonna go sleep with Dia..." He rubbed his eyes again and linked hands with the other.
"French? That I can help wit--" She paused and smiled. While she hated to leave her baby alone, he seemed to want to go so she would allow it. "Sure. You take VERY good care of him Dia. I'm counting on you."
Dia nodded and showed Ezzie to his fully furnished house in a tree(but not a tree house) They curled up on the couch together for their nap and had a good time.
"Yeah. I'll show you to your classroom and help you get unpacked." Rouge said with a smile, leading the other off.

heart Its Just a Little Crush! heart
Nadine slipped out of her room. She was wearing a simple black night gown. She'd spent one night there and wasn't exactly sure what time it was or where she was even. Ezzie had pleaded to spend the night with Dia and since she felt ten times closer to him now she let him. The blond had brushed her hair quickly and was investigating where she could find food. She was rather nervous since she had debated getting dressed a million times over but this was a 'dress' so tectonically she was 'dressed'. She padded throughout the hallways in bare feet, scared that she'd forgotten the directions that Rouge had hastily told her.
The ship, having a soul, was quite willing to oblige and let her into the mess hall before she stumbled around for too long. In the kitchen, making an ice cream sundae for some reason, was a being who looked somewhat like a tall thin woman. His hair was bright pink as were his eyes and he was amazingly thin. He wore a white robe like thing that was off the shoulder but had long flowy sleeves. He preferred robes to pants when he slept for some reason. Something Steve liked to mark off to him being rather....badly endowed, for a male but Sasha said it was because he liked to move.
Nadine took in the scent of blessed ice cream and walked over to the man, clutching gown closer. Ice cream wasn't really a 'breakfast' but Nadine was a teenager and not picky about such things. "Excuse me miss, do you mind if I have some?" She asked having made the mistake from behind due to the hair and body type. "I'm lucky I found this place at all..."
Sasha jumped and blinked several times looking around. Then he looked back at Nadine. "oh! You mean me. Sorry. I'm not a miss actually. The name's Sasha and yes you can have some. Just don't eat it too fast or you may get a headache and I'm running out of herbs for those." he said cheerfully. His voice was a bit high pitched as well, like a teenage boy's which had never broken.
Nadine flushed deeply and turned her head away in embarrassment. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to insult you... " She really hoped she didn't just kill her chance at a new friend on the ship. To distract herself she busied herself searching for the bowls. "I just came here yesterday..."
“Oh no it's fine. I'm used to it. just letting you know." he said cheerfully, making her a sundae after she found a bowl. "If you got here yesterday then I'll take it that you're Nadine. Rouge mentioned you. I'm the ship's doctor."
The French woman giggled into her hand. "Yes, my name is Nadine, I'm from France." She let her accent strengthen slightly then found a spoon. "Would you care to eat early morning ice cream with me, Doctor?"
"Certainly." the young man said cheerfully, sitting down at one of the tables with the woman. "I'm from Nurika but my father was half Dahi. Sad that I lost my wings though. They were pretty." he said with a light laugh.
She blinked in worry. "You lost your... wings? They fell off? When? You aren't hurt are you?" She stirred her sundae then looked at him with concern dancing in her hazel eyes. True she didn't know this man save for his name and job but she didn't like pain.
"Well you could say they fell off I guess. But no no I'm not hurt." he laughed. "They fell off YEAAAAAAAAARS ago." the memory was painful but no need to bring that up. "Nurika is a realm of fairy like beings. I was an oddity anyway. My Dahi blood made me tall so I wouldn't be able to fly with my wings but they were still pretty. Pink. I liked them a lot." he said cheerfully again, eating his sundae.
She relaxed a great deal knowing whatever pain he'd been in wasn't recent. Everyone had scars. "You like pink? I don't think I've ever meet a guy who likes that color." She wrinkled her nose, "Most boys I know think its a bad color but I love it." She started to eat her sundae.
"Well I have to love pink. My hair is pink, my eyes are pink, my wings were pink, and the same with my mom's hair eyes and wings. So I got raised to love it." he laughed.
Nadine touched his hand with hers and smiled comfortingly. "Well I think it suits you." She returned to her sundae, removing her hand. Taking a bite, she shivered from the cold that was slithering through her body.
Sasha smiled again, a bit differently this time, as if he were thinking. The two finished their sundaes, chitchatting about their homes.
Nadine pulled back her hair and stared down at her finished sundae. She really did think this man was interesting. "So if you're a fairy... can you do magic?" Her eyes lit fire as though she craved magic herself.
"Fairy magic some, Dahi magic a good bit and Witchcraft quite a lot. I did a lot of magic study during my years of being a sl-traveling."
She caught the word he wanted to say but didn't comment on it. He didn't want to talk about and she didn't really want to know. But the magic part... "Witchcraft?" The hunger for knowing literally poured out of her. "Do... I mean if its.... not too much trouble ....um, could you.... show me?" She nervously fiddled with the edge of her dress and wished she had thought to bring a jacket.
"Sure." he said, holding up a hand. Closing those pink eyes he began a spell, whispering unknown words under his breath. A pink compass appeared in his palm, pointing to Nadine. And then the compass of shining pink dust began to spin like rapid fire, spinning up into a spiral and bursting into a flower shape, leaving two white lilies, the purest she had ever seen, standing straight up in Sasha's palm.
Nadine's eyes went wide in amazement. "They're so...they're amazing!" She gingerly reached out her hand to take them. There was a warm glow to her face, as if she'd experienced pure joy from watching the display. It was the truth, Nadine truly loved magic. "Could I learn....?" Her voice was lower now, almost hoping he hadn't heard her.
"That spell would probably take a bit of training to do. I used a bit of Nurikan charm on it but the actual spell requires more preparation even if it is possible. I could show you some simpler spells if you want though."
"Tha-that would be great! I'd love that...." She held the lilies close to her and touched their petals. "I love magic but I've never seen anyone actually do it...I've read about it countless times though..." Her eyes sparkled with respect for Sasha.
"You're probably gonna see a ton here. The ship is half run on a much stronger magic then I have. Rouge can show you that and introduce you to Anna later. But that magic is inherit so neither of us could learn it. But I can show you whatever magic you'd like to learn."
They were both done their sundaes so Sasha stood up to wash them. "If you want we can look through the spell books in the library. They're all in different dialects of Tison and Dahi but some I can translate for you."
"That would be amazing!" She rushed over to help him wanting to do something in return. "You would really do that for me? I mean I hope I'm not wasting your time... I'm not sure if I have any magic at all." She stared down at her hands willing just a spark. Nothing came.
Sasha laughed a bit. "Everyone's got a bit of magic in them. Even mortals. You just need to learn how to use it. And it's no trouble to me. My main activity is sitting around the library and Dartsmoore's treasure room and try to sort things. Kind of like the girl in the book Dealing With Dragons but that's another matter. Company would be much enjoyed." he told her with a nod.
"Don't you get bored?" She asked watching him clean the dishes. Was he really a guy? He seemed so personable compared to her father and the kids at school. He was nicer and his girlish features gave him a wonderful grace. In fact she liked the way he-- She paused then blushed considerably. Was she checking him out? She knew girls did it all the time but Nadine had never really found anyone TO 'check out'. Nadine allowed herself to dismiss it as her excitement. "What kind of spells can I learn?"
"I get very bored sometimes." he laughed. "But usually I find something to do. And you'll probably have to learn simple exercise spells at first, like minor levitation spells."
Once again she bubbled with joy. Without much thought she tackled him into a hug of thanks. "Thank you so much! You have no idea what this means to me!" Realizing what she did, she froze. Decidedly, she blamed Dia for his obsession with hugging people. It rubbed off on her.
He smiled and hugged her back quickly. Sasha, having lived on the ship for several years, was well aware of Dia's habit of tackle hugging people and was used to it. "Well if you're tired I'll let you go back to bed. Or I can show you to the library now."
Nadine's face burned when he hugged her back and jerked away. "Um ah um....it um, hehehe... I would like to go but do you mind if I get changed first? There's no way I can sleep now but I'm cold."
"Certainly." he laughed. "I need to get on some regular clothes myself." he was blushing a bit too. "One thing though. You may wanna try this." he told Nadine before walking to the door. Before he opened he looked up and said. "Anna, I'd like to go to my quarters please." and the door opened to a lighted bedroom and closed once more behind Sasha. It was strange. how did the ship know to do that and how had his room gotten there and who was Anna?
"Anna....?" She questioned but he was already gone. She licked her lips nervously, realizing they didn't establish a place to meet or anything. "A....Anna? May... may I go to my room please?" Certainly you may, kid. A strange voice(which a slightly Brooklyn accent) said in her mind. The doors opened and there was her room ready for her to change in.
Nadine jumped and shouted a small thank you before bolting into her room. Now she had a problem. What did one wear to learn magic? Her fingers slid over each of her dresses then to her other clothes. Picking an outfit, she dressed quickly then went to the doors again. She was liking this safer way of getting around. "Um, Anna, may I please go wherever Sasha is?"
A small laugh was heard in her mind. If you insist. Anna laughed.
Then the doors opened to Sasha's room where he looking through his closet for a shirt, wearing only a pair of tight black pants which showed both that he was male(though not too big) and that he had a great a**. And his chest, while very thin was still rather nice. But it was his back that was the most interesting. On his back were two long burn scars that were obviously very old. Blushing a bit he glanced at her. "Sorry. I forgot to tell you where to meet didn't I?"
The only thing that escaped her opened mouth was a slight squeak. One: She'd never seen a guy shirtless before, two: she'd never considered an a** 'nice' but he just proved her wrong and three: she suddenly felt much warmer then she had before. She finally came slightly to her senses focused only on his back. That looked so painful... She reached out her hand and instinctively touched them with the tips of her fingers. Her hands were still cold from earlier.
Sasha jumped a bit and turned around. "Gyah!" he said in surprise then calmed down. "Oi. Sorry. wasn't expecting that." he told her. "Though no matter how long I'm alive I don't think I could get used to some one being able to actually touch that part of my back since that was where my wings were."
"They..... those were burn marks..." She whispered shrinking back. He'd scared her when he turned around and she had automatically assumed the position to protect herself from being hit. She'd never been hit before but she knew plenty of girls that did. Still, she felt guilty since Sasha didn't seem the type. "Sorry, I won't do it again, I promise."
"Yes." he muttered softly. "That's what they did after my wings 'fell' off to make sure they didn't grow back." He quickly put on a shirt and smiled. "Anyway, don't worry about it. I just wasn't expecting you to do that is all." he told her with a smile. "This way." he said, offering his arm and mentally requesting to go to the treasure room.
Nadine felt awful. Even after that display and touching him, he was still being so nice to her. She reached out and took his arm carefully. She was now wearing something that fit her finer tastes better. Since the man had admitted to liking pink she had chosen a soft pink dress, a few shades lighter then his hair. The dress fit her figure very well, giving her the famous 'hour glass' shape. While her hair cascaded down the back and over her shoulders like a river of gold. "Can't you use magic... to .... get them back?"
"We have tried. There is no spell a mortal could perform to fix them." Sasha said, showing her into the room. It was stunning. Gold, silver, jewels, etc. It was an AMAZING room. But it was an utter mess. 1/5 the room was neat and orderly with shining objects and the rest was full of a dull dirtied mass of objects.
She let the words stick in her mind. Was she considered a 'mortal'? She decided because of his kindness, she would go to whatever lengths she could to get his wings back. Even if she never did, she would at least try. "Wow... " She muttered when all the jewels caught her eye but frowned. "This room could use a maid. If you would like, I won't object to helping... clean this room."
"That's what we're here for. Almost every object in here is magic. So I'll have to teach you the safety rules for it."
"I think I know the first one: Don't touch anything." She beamed up at him with laughter in her eyes.
"No you kind of have to touch these things." he laughed. "The first one is don't try to TEST anything. Don't put on rings, don't swish the swords, none of it. You clean it, you put it in the pile of that type of object and you move on to the next item." it was said in a teasing tone but he meant it.
She nodded and relaxed considerably. "I thought we were going to learn spells though? How does cleaning a room teach me to levitate?" She asked then spotted a pendant with a violet stone. "Oh wow... Are you SURE about that 'don't try anything on' rule?"
"If an item belonged to the goddess of pranks, it may be cursed to kill whoever puts it on that's not her. If you were to put it on not knowing it's power-and we don't know ANY of the powers of the items here yet-then you would be dead." he told her, with a bit more sober of a tone. "And you learn levitation spells here easiest because when you've cleaned an item and don't feel like leaving your spot or your legs have fallen asleep you can levitate it to the right pile." he told her, bending down to grab a helmet and his cleaning gear, unintentionally showing off his a** again.
Nadine was half listening, VERY distracted by his rear end. Her fingers were already clenched around the object in her hands as she moved it toward herself. It was very pretty... She glanced at the rest of the items there and then back down at the single amulet in her hands. Could any of these help Sasha? They said they didn't know what they did, right? Maybe one of them... While his back was turned, she turned around herself and put the necklace on.
Sadly for Nadine the necklace was in no way a good one. Just as Sasha had said it had been a necklace that belonged to the goddess of pranks. but luckily for Nadine it wasn't the one that killed people. This one just turned them into cats while it was worn and until someone used a simple charm breaking spell. Sasha turned around, saw the pile of clothes, the cat wearing the necklace and knew. "Oh crud. Nadiiiiiiine. I said not to put on any of the items. Come here you." he said taking the necklace off of her and putting it back where it went. "This is going to be embarrassing for you either way I hope you know. If I leave you like this you'll be stuck as a cat which is embarrassing because of how it happened and if I turn you back you'll be naked."
The blond cat put her ears down and gave him a shameful stare. Ear ears went back up at the mention of her being naked.. suddenly she'd rather be the cat. Speaking of which, there was a loose string on his shirt... She watched it being moved by his breath, completely ignoring him now and started to bat at it. "Mreow... Mrow..."
Sasha laughed. "How about I just turn around and change you back?"
Nadine really didn't care anymore. Her mind was more interested in the sounds and the way the light entered the room. She started to purr and nudged one of his hands, hoping to get stroked. Changed back...? Did that deal with food? Somewhere Nadine's real mind was trying to over take the cat but she was really to dazed to do anything. She settled for pushing his hand trying to get it over her nose so he'd get the hint. Life was neat. Life was awesome . Life... needed to be itched behind the ears.
Sasha rolled his eyes a bit. "Fine. But then I'm changing you back." he told her, scratching the woman behind her cat ears. However, the goddess had been a silly one. As he scratched her lightly behind her ears the cat form spell wore off and his hand was behind the ear of a nude woman.
Nadine leaned into his hand and tried to keep purring when her eyes suddenly snapped open. She slowly lifted up her head and stared at Sasha. Her arms came up to hide her upper chest region but she dared not stand. Her eyes were wide and her face beat red. "uhm....."
"I'll turn around now." he said and did a strange move. From his kneeling position he spun on his heels, standing and facing the other way again, hands clapped over his face as he flushed brighter then his eyes.
Sadly, before Sasha had been able to remove his hand from Nadine and turn, Rouge entered looking for Sasha to say that real breakfast was ready. Giggling a bit she said "Am I interrupting something?"
Now Nadine REALLY looked like a deer in the head lights. She let out a very loud yelp of protest then dove for her clothes, quickly putting them on. "No-we -I ....I mean... he's um.....I was uh....amulet and then I was a cat and..."
Rouge cracked up. "Nadine you've been here one day and already getting romantic with the doctor. Good going." she teased, winking. "He's been in need of a girlfriend for some time."
"Hey! I-Nothing happened! She just tried on a necklace and-"
Rouge laughed and pat him on the shoulder. "Have fun you two. If I know Sasha you had a sundae for breakfast. But when you guys want regular food it's being served."
Nadine stared at the ground now even redder (if it was possible) then before. Great, she literally just got here and she was proving the 'easy French woman' stereotype. She waited until Rouge left and turned to Sasha apologetically. There were even small tears in the corner of her eyes. "I'm so sorry about that! I didn't mean to I really really didn't mean to!" She put her hand down on the table to steady herself and winced. She closed her eyes as if mentally swearing then lifted up her bleeding hand. "Ow...." Her eyes trailed down to a sword that had been sticking up due to being propped up. She pointed to the weapon with her good hand. "Yes, thank you sword, because that was very necessary."
Sasha smiled softly and walked over, taking her hand and blowing gently on the mark. As was his magic that pink dust flew over the cut, closing it up but not removing the mark. "That's the best I can do for this kind of mark. Magic swords take special magic to heal." he told her gently. "And don't worry. Rouge is a tease. She's just playing around. She knows it was an accident. Those happen when it's your first time in here. She was here when I started cleaning this place and tried to test a ring and got sick to my stomach." he reassured her.
"Thank you..." She whispered in reply watching him as he fixed what he could. The searing pain had left her hand and she felt better. He wasn't mad, he wasn't yelling, in fact he was being just as kind, if not kinder then before. Her mind had finally decided it: No matter what the cost or how much pain she'd go through, she'd repay him. She'd give him back what he'd lost. "Can you tell me...? Can you tell me how you lost your wings?"
"It's a long story so you'll have to take a seat if you wanna hear."
"Are you willing to tell me?" She didn't want to make him upset.
"Of course. I just warn you it may be a bit hard for you to hear." he told her softly, sitting down with her.
Nadine sat down like a child egger for a story. "I can.. handle it." She replied with a soft smile of her own She made sure there were not more sharp objects around before engrossing herself into words. Ready to hang onto to each one as if it were a life line. Unlike most people her age, Nadine listened.
Sasha thought for a bit. "Well I had better start at the beginning because if you don't know why I was where I was it would be odd. I was born in Nurika to a full blooded Nurikan woman and a half Dahi man. My Dahi grandmother always taught me healing spells as it was one of the family traits. My mother often taught me fairy and nature magic as well. By the time I was 13 my mother thought it best for me to go to the Tison Capital and do a bit more magic training. My first night there and my first night away from home by myself I was accosted by a few drunk Faekynans. Faekynah is one of the Tison earth realms, their residents are elf like. Nurikans used to be Faekynans but they believed in the change of seasons and left Faekynah to seek their own way, changing in appearance and nature. Faekynans have a strange hatred for Nurikans because of it. And due to that they decided to take their drunken rage out on me. They ripped off my wings and singed the base of them so that they wouldn't grow back. I passed out from the pain and when I woke up I was in chains in a slave caravan headed to Lolian."
Tears dotted her eyes. Someone could hate that much? To rip off an innocent mans wings and BURN him? Then to make him a... slave? She reached out and touched his shoulder. "I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry that anyone would do that..." A few tears slid down her face. "I wish I could do something...."
Sasha smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead, a Nurikan sign of comfort. "it's all right. There is a reason Nurikans left." he told her with a smile. "Besides, after I was sold from the family that bought me in Lolian, I was bought by a witch in the outlands who was very good to me and took me as her apprentice. She and are still friends. She's like another grandmother." he laughed.
The kiss caught her off guard. She blushed deeply again then let her eyes grow fierce. "I'll get them back..." The determination was in full force now. She would kill herself if she had to find the right item, the right spell, the right... anything to bring back those wings he wanted so badly.
He laughed and hugged her. "You don't have to." he assured her. "Believe me, I've learned to live without my wings."
She didn't say anything but nodded. She would still find a way. She COULD find away... somehow. She took this time to inhale his scent. It smelled of magic... no words for it just... magic. She loved that smell...
Sasha smiled gently, holding her. He didn't really want to say that he liked holding her like this for fear of getting slapped or yelled at for being a jerk. But he did like being close to her, quite a lot.
Nadine closed her eyes and rested against him. He smelled so good and she was trying to search for her own inner magic. With some hope she could help him. She didn't know to who but she wished there was a way for him to get his wings back.
The blood slid down the blade and onto the snake carved into the handle. It instantly shifted into a rattle snake and flicked out its black tongue. The one who dare survive the blade... she was over there. The snake narrowed its red eyes and slipped down and around their legs, slithering silently, keeping his rattle still.
She shifted slightly in her seat to get closer to him. Now half way asleep. The snake grinned and struck. The woman gripped Sasha's shirt then stared at him with wide eyes. For a moment she said nothing just looked down at the blood now trailing down her leg. "What... was ttha....t...." She suddenly became very pale and started to shake as the venom took effect.
Now the snake let off his rattle. If that man dared make a move to help her, he would strike again.
Sasha's eyes shot open and he looked down at the snake with a dark look in his eyes. Grabbing a knife in his belt he jabbed it through the serpent's head. Though as he did the young man caught the fangs as well.
The two newly acquainted people fell ill very quickly. The snake wasn't designed for torture. Sasha was next to to grow pale and to start shaking. Nadine wrapped her arms tighter around him and closed her eyes once again. He felt the life slipping away and grasped for it but to no avail. His magic and his medicine couldn't save him now. He too closed his eyes after a time. To anyone who walked into the room it would seem as if the two were sleeping after having been talking or cuddling. That was until they realized that Sasha's neck hung limp at an odd angle and there was a dead snake curled at his feet.
However their bodies were soon vanished and repaired. Ezhno, wherever he was sleeping, probably felt a gentle stretch on the bond with him and Nadine. Like someone else was being joined into his bond with Nadine and like another someone had bonded with all 3 of them. The bonding was quick, as this deity's soul as well as the spirits had been expecting this bonding and had actually caused it to happen. The deity which chose them gave the two a special gift that they found upon their waking. When Sasha and Nadine woke up, where they had been before, there was a relic around Nadine's neck that looked ilke a pair of pink wings and she was able to see that-much to both's amazement-they each had gained a large lovely set of wings.
Nadine closed her eyes tighter. She was dead....again. She was bitten by a rattle snake! There was no way she was alive. She'd abandoned her son and now he was going to die too! She felt something new on her back shiver in response to her sadness and opened her eyes slowly. What...? The blond slowly let her hands fall from Sasha's shoulders and too afraid to look behind her own back, sat transfixed at his. Her hands went up to his face, lifting it to see if by some chance, he was alive. "Sasha?"
Blinking a few times those magenta hued eyes opened and then shot open wide, sitting up. "Nadine! you're okay!" he said happily, putting his arms around her and kissing her emphatically. It wasn't really intentional. He was just so glad that she was alive and hell it had been so long since he'd felt complete-though he wasn't sure why he did now.
She went ridged with shock as she was kissed by Sasha. Her newly placed wings flapping quickly and knocking smaller items off behind her. Did she kiss back...? Part of her mind screamed that she just met him and it wasn't right but the other half was louder, telling her that it was alright. He was alive and that was all that mattered. He had his wings! She'd done it! Tears fell down her face as she kissed him back then pulled away. Her sensible side was taking over and it was giving her a scolding. "Sasha...." She breathed moving her hands to her lips. The wings she had acquired spread out behind her. They were bird shaped wings, covered with feathers but completely see through, glittering with magic each time they flapped.
Sasha blushed. "I'm sorry. I was just so glad to see you were okay, after seeing you like that-and there wasn't anything that I could-and you just look so lovely right now that part of me wants to kiss you again and-" he was very very flustered, his smaller wings flapping animatedly, a rainbow sheen sliding over the beautiful pink surface. "And I don't know why but I feel strange right now and-ow" he mumbled, having brushed his wings against the wall but not realizing he'd done it or what had just happened.
Nadine let herself giggle the kiss away and put a finger to his lips. "I have a surprise for you..." She whispered not knowing if she was the cause of his wings or not but just knowing how much pleasure it would bring him filled her with even more joy. "First, close your eyes."
Sasha did so, willing to let her take hold of the situation. He was too confused to get it really.
With a smile she got up, tiptoeing passed the dead snake and behind him. She couldn't wait! She paused long enough to look over her own shoulder and gasp. Wings! She had them too! Oh wow.... She shook her head and decided it must have been the sword or the snake. Carefully she put her hands on his back and started to move them down to where wings started. "Feel my hands, Sasha?"
Sasha nodded. "Yes" he said softly, not completely understanding what she was doing.
The woman giggled again then rubbed her fingers along the base of his wings then moved them up over them. "What else do you feel Sasha? Something familiar?"
Sasha's eyes shot open and he craned his neck somewhat and practically fainted. "It.....can't be. How-?!" he asked, staring in shock at his wings and at hers. What had happened?
Nadine just smiled then jumped over the snake flapping her wings once or twice to keep her up for a few seconds longer. Once she landed she sat down in front of Sasha again the tips of her wings fluttering. "I don't know... maybe the snake bit you and made you have wings....?" Her mind didn't think that was EXACTLY right but she didn't care. The new relic hung loosely from her neck and she touched it with her fingers. Her eyes went over the new item. "Oh... is that... a relic?"
"It sure looks like one....but we'd have to ask Dartsmoore. She knows all of the relics by heart." he said, eyes staring at the strange relic.
"It feels like... the relic is tugging toward you... kind of like it wants to be worn by you too..." She commented idly then stood. "Come on, let's go ask Dartsmoore, I really need to know so that I can prepare. I've already got one kid!"
Sasha smiled and walked with her, holding the girl's hand as they walked out of the room and right into the mess hall.
Dartsmoore and Rouge both had their jackets off and their arms bared and were arm wrestling next to a fudge brownie. But after a while the smaller woman won out over the tall blond and as she let go, Rouge grabbed it and took a bite, grinning like a devil. "Loser gets the bro'ni'" she teased.
Dartie rolled her eyes and turned to the newcomers. "Well well well, what's up you two?" she asked.
Nadine's wings flared up in her embarrassment. The last time she'd seen Rouge it had been a compromising situation and now that she was seeing her again... it was still a compromising situation. "I um... think I have another relic... I died again but... so did Sasha and now we have wings..." It was the short version but it was the only thing she could get out of her muddled mind.
Dartsmoore's eyes shot like a hawk's to Nadine's neck and she nodded. "Deity of winged beings. I think that one probably felt sorry for Sasha and because you have a connection with that realm already and because from what I hear you were gaining a connection with him the deity arranged to be reborn in your care and give you a gift as well."
That answered a lot. "Well could you explain something else? The necklace ... it almost feels but doesn't really move but it feels like its pulling toward Sasha. I mean, it gave him a gift but why does it want to be worn by him?"
"Because the two of you are sharing the bond. So far as we've seen anyone who dies at the same time as the guardian or is chosen as well, will be killed along with the main guardian. You and Sasha are bonded together. He's pretty much been joined in your bond with Ezhno and all 3 of you were joined in the bond with the new deity. It's like getting married in a manner that you can't divorce from and didn't have much of a choice in."
There was a very long silence before: "I GOT MARRIED?!"
"Kinda yeah." Dartsmoore said. "Steve catch Sasha before he falls and re breaks his wings." A man from behind Sasha steadied him a bit.
"So... now I've got TWO kids and a 'husband'... Did this deity stop to think that we just met... this morning over sundaes? I mean sure we kissed but--" She stopped in mid sentence, noticing how muh information she just revealed. "Alright, that sounded bad... let me TRY and redeem myself on that one."
"Why? you're in a room with a married man, an eternally young woman whose older then all of us, and a pair who are rumored to have had sex the day they met." the guy who had caught Sasha said. He was 6'5", wore leather pants, had spiky blond hair, dog ears, and a skinny fuzzy tail. . Rouge looked at Steve. "Where the hell did you hear that?"
"We didn't do THAT!" Nadine hissed, her eyes narrowing in a cat like manner. A dog. She disliked dogs to an extent, they were loud, noisy and as always stuck their noses where they didn't belong. Her wings echoed her slight angry-embarrassment. "I was turned into a cat, he was itching my ear, I turned back without clothes, Rouge walked in. End of story. I'm only 17! ...that reminds me." Her mood did a complete 180 when she smiled at Sasha, obviously having a crush. "How old are you?"
Sasha blushed. "You REALLY don't want to know." he said backing up. This caused Steve and Dartie to crack up and Rouge to shake her head. "We'd have to explain the Tison aging system to you before we explain that."
Steve blinked a few times. "All I said was why you don't have to redeem yourself. Sheesh lady chill."
Nadine's wings slumped slightly. "Um what do you guys mean...? C'mon he doesn't look THAT much older then me. What are you 20?"
"Nooo...not twenty." he said sheepishly.
Dartsmoore shook her head. "He's part Dahi. He ages very slow. He's a lot older then he looks and acts. Mainly because he only recently hit adulthood by Tison standards."
"Yes but Tison standard adult age is now the human standard adult age." he said in a freaked out exasperated manner.
"Standard adult age....? What the hell does that mean?" Her mind was trying to process exactly what that meant. "So you hit an age in Tison where you're an adult. What do you mean its the human standard adult age? Ours its 18. " She grinned. "Three more months to go and I'm free!"
Sasha was about ready to cry. "Please please don't make me say it. You'll hate me for that." he said. His eyes had that look, that pleading horrified look in them. The others were completely silent about it.
Her eyes softened. "Sasha.....? Hey don't... its alright." She walked over and gave him a smile. "Alright, you don't have to tell me if it upsets you that much. I won't hate you for it though, I promise."
He shook his head and backed out of the room. "If you guys want to tell her go ahead. I need to be alone for a bit." he said softly, backing away.
Dartsmoore blinked a few times and went back to bothering Rouge about the brownie. Steve watched for a sec then shrugged. A pigtails bearing woman whose name wasn't too important right now was the only one who spoke. "I'd say go after him."
Nadine looked back at her then was gone in an instant in a shower of dust from her wings. "Sasha!" She called hoping to catch him before he got too far.
The doors opened to his room once more. He was standing at his desk, head in hand. It wasn't exactly something he wanted to explain to her. How was he to know that he was so drastically older then her? He'd never seen a mortal woman who was of his age or younger besides her. He'd assumed she was about his age since she seemed like it and looked perfectly mature by Tison Standards.
She folded her wings against her back and entered. Was he crying? She hadn't meant to make him cry! She moved in front of him and reached up to his hand. "Sasha... What's wrong...?"
"I didn't know-please, I just didn't know-" he said softly, trying to hold in his tears. It wasn't his fricken fault he'd been raised by females and ended up emotional.
"Didn't know what Sasha...?" She prodded trying to get him to finish his sentence. "I wont' be mad, I promise... I only rounded on that guy because he's a dog person thing and because he was implying something that didn't happen."
"Look, the Tison age when we are counted as adults is the age of 30. We age very slowly, especially ones with Dahi blood. I haven't seen human females before so I didn't' know that you were that much younger then me." he said softly. "The fact that Tisons and Dahi blooded age at several years per one of your years is bad enough anyway." he said softly.
"You're.... 30?" She asked slowly trying to let it sink in. He was 30... she was 17. He was 13 years her senior. Nadine found his bed and sat her self down on it. She was married to a 30 year old man who just just met and now was having another kid. Somewhere she felt her brain explode and fell backward on to his bed. "Wow..." The relic tugged again, reminding the woman they were connected. Did it had faith in the two of them? Did it mean for them to take it to this level? Maybe they were only supposed to act as close friends... but they'd kissed and...
"Remember how I said I wasn't going to be mad? I'm not... but Sasha?"
He looked up at her gently. "Yes?" he asked softly. His eyes were a bit puffy and he had that strange flush to his cheeks that only comes from crying.
"I think I'm going to pass out." Her wings fell limply to her sides and her head tilted to the side but her eyes remained open. What ... was she supposed to do? "Do we... move in together now... what do we do?"
"Well......we both already live on the same ship so it's not really that much moving anyway. And.....I don't' know what we do. I've never even heard of a situation like this before." he told her softly, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
The girl frowned and bit her lip. "Well.... Ezhno should be up.... do you want to at least meet him?" She found it strange that she had to introduce her son to her new husband. "He is your... " Was he his son too?
"Of course." he said shyly, secretly hoping that the boy didn't' hate him for taking his Mom and for all that had occurred.
Nadine tried to sit up but couldn't due to the weight of her wings. She wasn't used to the them yet and they made her off balance. She flapped as hard as she could trying to get herself back up. Finally she resigned. "Sasha... I can't get up."
Sasha blushed and walked over to kneel beside her and help her up. Though, clumsy as he was, he fell a bit when he tried and ended up on his knees over her, blushing furiously. "Sorry." he said again, trying to get up quickly and help her get up at the same time.
Nadine found herself blushing and staring up at his eyes. He was so afraid of doing something wrong. Just like she was... He needed to know he was alright. She wasn't mad and she wouldn't hurt him. From her parents she learned one thing: Never abandon anyone. She put her arms around his mid second and held him still. "Do you trust me?"
He blushed again and thought on his answer for a moment. Did he? Well he was sure that she was gentle and wouldn't hurt him. And he was sure that he liked being near her. But did he trust her? After a second he breathed out his answer. "Yes." he told her gently.
"I trust you." She used a hand to push herself up and got close enough so that their breath mingled together. "You didn't do anything wrong... you don't need to apologize. Its sudden... but we can at least trust."
Sasha nodded softly. He stared at her for a little while, just treasuring this time between them. The closeness, how it felt being near her, and so on. But after that little while was up he stood and smiled. "Shall we go see Ezhno?"
She took his hand and tried to pull herself up. "Either way, we can be close friends or something.... we don't have to say we're married. " Her wings fluttered at the word. It was exciting here. "He's like a prince..." She said aloud. After so many books this is what she longed for. She smiled to herself when she realized she would never be lonely again.
Sasha's cheeks turned redder then his wings when she said that. "No I'm no prince. The only one of those on board is Diyaka." he said sincerely.
She stood up beside him then tilted her head to the side. "Well... I've decided that you're my prince." She took his hand and walked toward the door, all a flutter. "Anna? To Ezhno please."
The voice laughed a little again and soon they were standing in a room that was neatly furnished and had a TERRIFIC view of that playground and park area Nadine had first seen. Diyaka was on the couch napping away but Ezhno wasn't. he'd woken up a bit ago and was playing on the floor.
Ezhno glanced up at his mother and launched himself at her. "Mama! I..." He stopped in mid step and tilted his head to the side. "Momma... why are you a birdy?" His eyes landed on the man next to her. "BUTTERFLY!"
Nadine covered her mouth to keep from busting out in laughter. Butterfly. What a perfect nickname. "I'm not a bird, I just have wings sweetheart..." She didn't correct him on the 'butterfly' thing. She'd let Sasha do that.
Sasha shrugged and fluttered his wings a few times for show. "Butterfly." he agreed.
"Ezzie.. erm... " How should she say this? "This is Sasha... and he's --"
"Is he a girl?"
"No, pay attention please....He's your... well..." She turned to Sasha helplessly. Did she dare say 'father'?
Sasha blinked. "Um.......we don't know quite what I am to you yet but no I'm not a girl. We know that much. But um....I'm your mother's um..........um...." he looked back at Nadine for help on this bit.
Looking to Ezhno's large and confused violet eyes she could only smile. It was right for kids to have two people taking care of them. "Ezzie... you know how I hada mommy and a daddy?" She asked kneeling down and holding onto him.
He nodded slowly then looked up at 'Butterfly' again.
"Well... He's your......" A sharp intake of breath, "your daddy."
The boy's eyes widened slightly as he surveyed the new man. He wiggled out of his mother's grasp and walked over to him. "Are you my daddy for real?"
Sasha thought for a moment and nodded. "I guess you could say that yes."
Ezzie looked between the two of them then slowly raised up his hands. "Up?" He asked softly becoming his shy self again. Had it just been him and Butterfly he would have turned tail. He didn't care much for strangers.
Sasha knelt down and picked up the boy, smiling as he did. He was a bit taller then Nadine so it was higher then usual. However it wasn't TOO high.
Ezhno broke into a smile and watched the man's rainbow wings then played with his pink hair. "You got colors." He stated proudly as if he'd discovered the rarest fact ever known.
Nadine smiled and stood beside Sasha. "So what do you think?"
"He's good." He nodded sagely, reaching out and touching one of his mother's new wings. "Soft!"
Sasha was glad to be accepted. He didn't want to be hated by her-their?-son.

heart Nurikan Water and a Promise heart It was that evening now. Nadine had bathed Ezhno and had sent him to bed. She stared down at the scattered papers that were covered in glitter and the letters 'A, B, C--' and so on. She was making things for her first English class. She'd even wrote the rules on large peices of paper in glitter. It would be so perfect... but that wasn't the only thing on her mind. In each cornner of the papers were little fairy wings that resembled Sasha's.
Oh she had it bad... In fact, her entire debate was asking if they were supposed to.. well... She felt an awful tugging from the relic when he wasn't around and she doubted she could sleep that. "Anna? Can you take me to Sasha...." She just hoped he wasn't bathing or anything.
You do know you can just think where you want to go and I'll take you there, hon. He just said it outloud so you'd know what to do. Anna mentally informed her before opening the doors to Sasha's room.
The pink haired young man was in his room but this time he wasn't looking for clothes. Sasha was looking for where he'd put his shampoo. A white fluffy towel wrapped around his midsection was the only thing keeping Nadine from seeing his nude body. His wings fluttered a bit as he moved, not really noticing she was there yet.
Nadine stared at him, unwillingly letting herself take in every inch that she could see. Her wings spread suddenly and knocked something off the shelf and she froze. Oh boy... well at least they were even now, save for he had a towel. Now if only she fould figure out how to tear her eyes away from the sight.
Sasha looked up at the sound. What Nadine had knocked off was his shampoo. "Oh! there it is." he laughed and walked over, bending to pick it up and smiling up at her. "Hey. What's up?" he asked her. Sasha was a bit less startled to see her here this time. She'd seen his chest before and well technically they were married so it wasn't wrong for him to feel so comfortable near her like this, was it?
Nadine placed a hand over her heart. Could he hear how fast it was beating? She felt like it was the loudest sound in the world save for her quickened breathing. He was so nonchlant about her walking in on him NUDE. Well he had a towel but STILL! "H-hey Sa-Sas-Sasha..."
He cocked his head to the side. "You okay?" he asked, reaching out a hand to steady her.
She visably stiffened and nodded. "Me? O-o-oh of co-course.... hehee... you know what I think.... I'll let you um... do that.. um..... you know.....uh thing you were doing~! Yup you go right back to doing that....." Was her face as hot as it felt? She had a feeling that at this rate she could fry eggs on her blushing cheeks.
He blinked a few times and blushed furiously realizing that he was still in just a towel. "Oh sorry. I forgot what I was in the middle of before yo ushowed up." he laughed sheepishly. "I usually find my shampoo beforehand but I forgot today."
He WAS in a towel.... Nadine's eyes had traveled downward and were currently locked there. "Uh-huh..." Her distrated voice agreed to whatever he had said.
Sasha's cheeks started matching his hair again, realizing where she was looking. "I um.......would you like to join me? I mean up-for dinner....or somethign or uh.....well if you wanted to I guess you could but um-uh" he was stammering like all hell. Most females did not show interest in him especially in this manner
"Do you want....." She coughed slightly."Could you come to my room when you're finished?"
He nodded shyly. "Um...sure. I could come by if you like." he told her before going back to his shower, closing the door but leaving it open a crack so the room didn't steam up.
Nadine hovered took her time to hover across the room. She lied to herself, making up the exuse she wanted to know how one was to bathe while having wings. She paused and let the warm steam hit her in the face. Did she dare? The woman peeked through the small crack.
Sasha was unlucky enough to have a clear shower curtain. The water was on low and he was facing the water so that it hit his soft wings lighter. He fluttered them slightly as he bathed so the water wouldn't hang on the tops of his wings and mess them up. His body was shimmering with the glistening water as were his wings.
She let out the breath she'd been holding and braced herself with the door. It slid open slight making an ungodly creaking noise, just to warn the fairy of her presence. Was every inammate object out to get her or something? She left the room in a flurry of feathers. One of those feathers drifted into the bathroom and landed neatly in front of the shower.
Sasha's eyes looked to see where the sudden light draft had come from and saw the feather. He flushed all over and went back to showering. Because otherwise he'd get soap in his eyes after a while and that's a b***h to get out.
Afterwards Sasha redressed in a loose long black shirt and a pair of matching sleeping pants. He had Anna take him to Nadine's room but let her know it was him before he went it.
Nadine sat on her bed rocking her little boy. He had woken up complaining of a tummy ache, probably because he ate more then anyone else at dinner, and she was soothing him back to sleep. Her hazel eyes went to Sasha and she sighed in relife finding him dressed this time. "Take a seat..." She whispered patting the bed beside her. "Ezzie's not feeling to well..."
Sasha sat down next to them. "Oh? What's wrong?" he asked, looking at the boy. Being the ship's doctor he automatically had to know these types of things.
Ezzie looked up, half asleep at Sasha, then rubbed his stomach. "My tummy hurtts..."
"I told you not to eat that much..." She felt his forehead and yanked it back. "Oh baby... you've got a fever..."
Sasha reached out and checked Ezhno's forhead and nodded, agreeing with Nadine's dignosis. Walking to Nadine's bathroom he wet a washcloth and brought it back out. Gently he dabbed the water on the boy's forhead. "Stay here and rock him for a little and dab his forhead a bit. I'll be right back. I need to get my supplies from the office." he told her, handing over the washcloth and smiling at the kid.
Nadine blinked before remembering what she'd forgot. He was a doctor... She was married to a doctor... Maybe this wasn't so bad after all. She followed his directions and smiled. "Its okay, Butterfly's going tom ake you feel better, kay?"
Ezzie nodded and snuggled closer to her with a sigh. He didn't like not feeling good.
In a little bit Sasha was back holding a strange small bowl and a tiny spoon. Sitting down he smiled at the boy. "This stuff is medicine. It's not gonna taste very good but it will make you feel much better. Afterwards I'll make you up a cup of Nurikan Water to get rid of the taste." he told the boy with a nod, offering the spoon. Ezzie glanced at his mother. His eyes silently asking if it was really OK. He trusted her more then this new man. "Mamma...?"
"Its alright, angel... Its all going to be better soon. Alright?" She ran her fingers through his curls and sat him up.
"Kay Daddy..." He answered in the mournful tone a sick kid has and opened his mouth
The bitter drink was poured into his mouth, making his face scrunch up. But after a few of those spoonfuls teh color returned to his cheeks and the boy felt considerably better. When that was done Sasha gave Ezhno another small bowlike cup with a warm brown liquid in it that was sweet and mild, making the boy feel sleepy again.
Ezzie finished the cup quickly then blinked his heavy eyelids. He kissed Nadine twice on both of her cheeks as was customary to the French before drifting off.
She smiled and put him back down on the bed and covering him up. "Thanks so much Sasha..." She said allowing her voice to hover just below a normal level.
He blushed again and smiled in an embarassed manner. "It was nothing."
She smiled back and brushed her hair back. "Listen I um...wanted to know if you wanted to move in with me, us... The relic won't leave me alone unless you're with me but I can understand how that would be weird so I can just deal with it..." Great, now he had HER rambling.
Sasha blushed and smiled. "If you and Ezhno don't mind, that'd be okay with me I guess. I don't really have any reason to object to it." he told her shyly.
"This is all so sudden... I can't believe on my first day here I managed to get married....is that a record?"
"I don't know. Possibly. I think Steve and Tan Pan knew eachother for at least 2 weeks before getting married."
"Steve's married? Poor girl..." She stood and paced around the room slightly. She had one bed... Ezzie slept with her and there wasn't much funiture. "Where uh... would you like to sleep?"
"Why do you say poor girl? They're quite happy together. She just had their first biological child together." Sasha said, puzzled. Steve was a bit of a dork sometimes and a bit obnoxious but he was really a nice guy and one of Sasha's best friends. "And well I could bring my bed in here. Anna can reconfigure herself as you noticed so she can just combine the two rooms."
"That sounds like a good plan." She wasn't ready to give her self up to him entirely. They'd still only just met. "Anna? could you please do that?" She asked outloud looking up at the celing. "We'd really appricate it."
No problemo and quite suddenly the wall phased out and the bed as well as their half of the room seemed to spin and reconfigure. All of the sudden the room they were in was facing the other way and had a doorway between that and Sasha's bedroom instead of an entire wall.
Nadine had freaked out since rooms where she lived didn't CHANGE themselves like that. She had latched herself around Sasha and waited for the movement to end. Knowing it could be done and SEEING it get done were two different things.
Sasha smiled and rubbed her back to calm her down a bit. "It's okay. You'll get used to her doing that. Anna likes to rearrange herself. When you've lived her long enoguh you'll get used to that happening while you sleep or whatever. The way we travel around the ship involves everything rearranging itself."
"Ri-right..." She replied glancing behind her. Wow... There was still plenty of space for them to get around although she noticed their beds were fairly close together. Her arms snaked their way up and around his neck as she sat in his lap. More in awe then because she was comfortable. "How do we travel...? Where are we traveling to?"
: "Travel from room to room I mean. Where we ask her to take us to the room or person we're looking for." he confirmed. "And currently she's just circling Earth. We like to be near to it so as to return guardians faster."
"Oooh..." She giggled at her mistake and nodded. "That makes sense...." She turned her head to look up at him and caught his eyes. They were so pretty.... He was perfection. Did he even realize that? She had a feeling had ever told him how wonderful he was. "Do you... believe in stories?"
"Depends on what you mean by that." he said, blinking a few times, trying to fathom an answer. "What kind of stories do you mean?"
"About finding true love..." Her mind flashed to the wings doodled on her papers to having her first kiss which was by this man, to the the akward scene that had taken place no more then half an hour ago. Was this what she'd read about?
"Of course. I've seen them come true before."
She nodded then bit her lip. "You would never just... leave, would you?"
"What do you mean?" he asked, brow furrowing. Leave? Where would he go? Well he could leave and go back to Nurika or Dahi to vist his family on occasion but what did that have to do with anything?
Her eyes softened to the point it looked like she might cry. "I mean... disappear. Find out that I'm not what you want and instead of telling me... just disappear. Pretend like I don't exsist..." It was obvious she spoke from experince on this matter as she let the tears fall down her face as she looked back into his eyes. "I can be anyone you want... I can... change if you want me to. Just don't leave...."
Sasha's eyes shone strangely and he quickly hugged Nadine close, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. "I promise I won't leave you like that. I like you as you are, you don't have to change."
Nadine relished in the kiss and even more in the words. He wouldn't leave like her parents did. she nestled down into him and closed her eyes. "Marci... vous remercient tellement..." She relaxed against him and after a few minutes her wings fluttered as she started to drift off.
Sasha smiled. He didn't really speak any french but he got the feeling. Gently he laid her down and tucked her and Ezhno in. Placing a gentle kiss on her cheek he whispered softly "Goodnight, my darling." Not quite sure if he should stay near her this time or go back to his own bed Sasha lay down on the edge of the covers, arm around Nadine and Ezhno.
Nadine smiled in her half asleep state and snuggled up to him as much as she could. The extra warmth was apprciated and she found that no matter how long ago she'd met him she'd still feel like this. Her own book was being written and she decided it and gotten to the chapter where she fell in love and found her happily ever after.
Ezzie cracked open an eye. His mother and father were both content and the horriable ache he'd just felt and changed into a warming feeling. He didn't have to make her lonliness and saddness go away. Butterfly would be the best daddy ever. With those thoughts in his head, he went back to sleep.

heart Touching a Healing Heart heart
Sasha woke up early the morning after his...night...with Nadine and Ezhno. She was snuggled up near him, her soft wings rubbing against his chest, but Ezhno was up and playing. Sasha smiled at the boy, watching him. Active little kid. Which reminded him of the one that would be arriving any day now from the necklace around Nadine's neck.
Ezzie turned his head and stared at Sasha with a smile. "Mornin' Butterfly Daddy...."
Nadine mumbled something about it being to early and tried to bury her face into Sasha's neck to block out the light. "Madline can I stay home from school today... ? My brain hurts...." She sighed and tried to stay asleep.
The God grinned almost evilly and tiptoed up to her on the bed. He gave Sasha a look that simply said 'MUAHAHHAHAHHA' all over it.
Sasha buried his face in Nadine's hair. He did not want to be awake yet. Strange when was the last time he'd slept in? He was usually up before dawn and quite active. He figured it was just that he wasn't used to being with someone yet.
"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY! WAKE UP!"
Nadine bolted up completely forgetting Sasha was there and glared at Ezzie. She was not a morning person. She did not like mornings. "What do you want...." She asked eyes slowly moving over Sasha. "AHH WHAT THE HELL!?" She shrieked jumping away from him. What was a guy doing in bed with her? O geeze, what was going on?
"Daddy! You gotta wake up too!"
Daddy...? Oh....OOOH now she remembered. Her face gained an enlightened look and she grasped her relic.
Sasha blinked a few times. "Mrrrgh. I'm up I'm up. Gawd when did it get so bright in the mornings?" he mumbled, wings fluttering several times before steadying themselves. The pink haired male was QUITE disoriented right then. Something fuzzy about being "married" floated through his brain but something else more important wafted in first. "I want coffee." he mumbled, standing up.
Ezhno who didn't understand parents needed coffee in the mornings decided he wanted to play with Butterfly now that he was awake. He launched himself at Butterfly's legs. "I wanna play! Do you wanna play?"
Nadine blinked in surprise and decided Sasha could handle it. She snuggled back into the covers and decided that being married wasn't so bad after all. "Have fun, dear." She mocked from her cozy spot.
"No. Not yet I don't. I have to get my coffee and go to work." he informed the boy. "If you want to come help me work then let go of my legs and come with me." Sasha mumbled, yawning.
Now the mother was fully awake. "He is not going anywhere near that room with that SNAKE." She stood up and picked up her pouting child.
"But mommy I wanna go see 'work'."
"No you do not! You are not leaving this room or going anywhere NEAR that one." She was in overprotective mode now. "I don't want you near it, hear me?"
"But... I..."
"No buts!"
Sasha blinked. "Room...with snake?" he asked, tilting his head. "Oh! The treasure room. I wasn't going there. Today's Dartsmoore's day to deal with that place. I'm going to the library."
Ezzie stuck out his tongue. "Hah-ey!"
Nadine held his tongue in place and stared down at him. "Now what are you gonna do about it?" She looked to Sasha as if to confirm he was telling the truth. "Well... I guess that's okay...." She answered putting Ezzie back on the ground. "But no snakes... I suddenly do NOT like snakes. Not that I ever did but now I really don't like them."
"What's a snake...?"
"Something bad."
He gave an exasperated sigh and turned to Sasha to see if he would answer.
"Something bad with teeth."
He threw up his hands dramatically then looked at his Squishy. "See? Mommy's and Daddy's think alike."
"Yup and we both have decided on coffee."
"Can I have some?"
"Son, as much as I love you, I love you when you're NOT hyper so no."
"Awww..."
"I'll make you hot chocolate though. That's almost as yummy as coffee." he said with a nod, walking into the mess hall with Nadine and Ezhno.
In the mess hall a young redheaded woman of about 32 was bouncing a baby girl on her lap. The baby was pale like her mother but had large dog ears and a tail and soft blond hair. She also had orangey eyes, highly reminiscent of Steve.
Speaking of Steve he was standing at the stove with a small green skinned leafy haired girl at his feet holding a plate. When he noticed the family he smiled. "Lo Sasha. Water's on for the coffee. Anyone want pancakes?"
Ezzie backed up and hid behind his mother before peeking out at the baby.
Nadine was going to give a rude comment about dogs when she remembered that he was Sasha's best friend. It was better to play nice. "Yes, could you please, make some for my son?" She stepped aside and pushed him froward. "Ezhno this is Steve, say hello."
"You gots a tail... Can I touch it?"
Steve turned and shrugged. "I don't care. Go ahead. What kinda pancakes you want kid? Plain or with chocolate chips?" he asked.
The redheaded woman smiled at Nadine and waved, bouncing the baby on her knee. "Bonjour Mademoiselle Nadine." she said softly, her voice bearing a strange accent that the girl could remember hearing snippets of in Sasha's speech. This woman was a Dahi-her high pointed ears, her gentle grace, they seemed nothing like the man she seemed to have married.
"Bonjour Mademoiselle... Tan Pan?" She guessed with a smile of her own. She walked over and sat down to make a new friend. "Awww... she's so adorable..."
Ezzie rubbed his hand over his nose in thought. "Um.. Chocolate?" He waltzed up and grabbed Steve's tail. He'd never been allowed to pet any animals so didn't understand how 'nice' worked. He yanked on it and smiled. "Fluffy! Butterfly! He's fluffy!"
Steve wasn't exactly sensitive in the tail area as most of his kind-due to his Metriyikan blood-so he didn't seem phased by the tugging.
Sasha smiled and started whipping up coffee. "That's good. His ears are the really fluffy bit." the pink haired young man said teasingly. Steve laughed and added some chocolate chips to the pancakes.
Tan Pan smiled and nodded. "Rin Kin ees her name. And thees is Feejhuu" the redhead said, indicating the small green girl near her shyly eating her pancakes. "Fluffy ears?" He asked then ran over to Butterfly holding up his arms. "Daddy! I want some hot ...chocolate"
Nadine gave a warm smile toward Sasha. "He sure picked up the daddy thing quick..." The French woman giggled and waved to Freejhuu. "Well hello there, are you going to be in my English class?"
Feejhu nodded somewhat. "Yeese" she told the other. "Wif D'yaka." The baby meanwhile was fascinated with the relic on Nadine's neck. Pointing at it she uttered one sound. "Nei!" Tan pan giggled at that and bounced her baby again.
Sasha smiled and picked up Ezhno to sit him on the counter so he could watch his daddy make the drink. After he'd mixed up some regular hot chocolate he winked and waved his hand over the cup, making sparkling light blue dust like sparkles fall into the cup and vanish. "Here you go. Take this to the table but be careful. I'll bring over your pancakes." he told the boy before taking a plate stacked high with chocolate chip pancakes made by Steve. The blond had figured the others would want to pick at the pancakes too and Sasha loved pancakes so he'd put PLENTY on there.
Ezhno retracted the finger he was going to put into the drink to hunt down the sparkles and started to walk to the table. "Mommy! I got hot chocolate!" He stared only at his cup to make sure none of it spilled over then handed it up to her.
"I don't think I understood what she said..."Nadine took it and placed it on the table then sat the boy in her lap. "Thank you Sasha... Will this having him bouncing off the walls more then he is already? Normally he's not this .... active in the morning. He usually sleeps later then I do but he must be excited about you."
Ezzie gripped his cup in his hand and sipped it. For minute he just stared at the cup. "Mommy... wanna taste? Its good!" He offered her the cup.
"No thanks, I'd rather have coffee."
Sasha shook his head. "Nah. We use Nurikan chocolate. It's got a bit of a spell on it to make it a bit more calming. That way if someone piles sugar into their drink it balances it out so they're not insanely wired." he told her, handing over a cup full of coffee and sitting down to eat.
After he'd turned off the stove Steve walked over to sit down and eat with his family. "Didn't understand who?" he asked. Of the small family he was the only one who spoke perfectly understandable English.
"Feejhu" The woman answered stumbling over the name slightly. "She took some pancakes out and handed Ezzie a fork. Her wings were spread out and hanging off the side of the chair. "What accent is that?" She sipped her coffee then smiled at Sasha. It was very good.
Ezzie dove into the pancakes and drank his cocoa. He was so happy that he was staring to calm back down to his regular level. "Butterfly? What's the word 'hot' mean? Cause mommy said you were ho--"
Nadine covered his mouth and smiled. "Aww, aren't kids cute?"
"Oh. She said Yes she'd be in your class, with Diyaka." Steve translated. "The Dahi accent is a bit thick." he explained.
But when Ezhno spoke he cracked up. "I knew you hit legal adulthood but getting a girlfriend so soon there Sasha? That's a good boy." he laughed, ruffling his friend's hair. Tan Pan was a bit confused but she smiled and nodded. Sasha snickered a tad, hiding it behind his coffee.
When the pink haired doctor had finished his small bout of laughter and a sip he spoke. "Hot means a few things. And you will have to wait till you take English class to find those definitions out. That and grow a bit." he teased.
Steve, deciding to strike up a conversation, did a very silly thing to bring up what Nadine had been pissed at him about yesterday. "By the way, Tan Pan. Did I tell you, Nadine blew up at me yesterday for making a joke about Rouge and Dartsmoore. I didn't know you would be offended by me teasing the captain Miss. I do apologize." he had a teasing grin on his face but something said he really didn't mean to offend at all.
"... Rouge and--.....oh dear...." Nadine covered her face. "I thought you were talking about Sasha and I.... I'm so sorry Steve......"
Ezzie crossed his arms. "I never know anything..." He decided to try his luck with the new and very green female. She looked kinda sorta like his Squishy. He slid off his chair and walked over to her with a smile. "Hello... what's your name?"
"Feejhu." she said smiling shyly. A girl of few words the leafy child raised an extra set of arms that neither child nor parent had noticed before.
"Ah! Is that what you were upset about! I get it now." Steve laughed for a moment. "It's okay, no problem. If you thought i was insulting your integrity I can understand you getting pissed. I didn't realize you weren't aware of the running jokes on the ship yet."
"Its a French thing. Everyone thinks that French girls are willing to .... well you know, to anyone. I thought you were using a Stereotype ..." She waved it off and smiled. "No problems.....wait Rouge's gay?"
The boy's purple eyes went wide. "Wow... " He whispered then grinned. He glanced down to check for more arms on HIS but didn't find anything and sighed. "I'm Ezhno but you can call me Ezzie..."
Steve shrugged. "I wouldn't know about those things. When I'm on Earth I stay in New York. It's Tan Pan who spends time in France. It's not my kinda place." the blond said with a nod. "And no one's entirely sure about Rouge." the dog eared man answered in a puzzled manner. "She and Dartsmoore sometimes act like they are, and there are TONS of rumors about it but no one is positive if they are or aren't except for them."
"Neice do meet yoo Ezzhnoh." the girl said with her accent, shaking his hand with one of her viny arms.
Nadine nodded and blinked a few times. "Does your...... child have four arms?"
Ezzie giggled and liked the way she said his name. "Nice to meet you Freejuu!"
"Yeese. Feejhu weel have seex when she is older." the woman said with a nod.
The girl shook her head as his pronunciation, smiling. "Feeee-jhu. No Freee-joo"
"..................." Nadine decided to just let that go and drank her coffee. "Steve, don't we have to get to work?"
"Oooh..... Feejhu...." He said more carefully this time. "Right?" He held up his Squishy. "He's green too!"
Work on what?" Steve said, looking around. "I'm the ship's weapons officer. I don't have to do most anything for a while."
Sasha cracked up at that. "Yes. Steve is what we call the ship hunk. He's brainless and generally useless." the smaller male stuck out his tongue at his friend after speaking. Steve made a round gesture behind the table that only people who were tall enough to see over the table could see-meaning Ezhno, Feejhu and Rin Kin didn't see.
"Yeese." she told him nodding. "OOH! Preety."
Nadine rolled her eyes. "Sorry I meant to say 'Sasha'. I'm still not fully awake yet..."
"We're gonna go work with Butterfly! Do you wanna come?" The boy asked the plant-like girl. "You and me can play a game!"
The two guys cracked up. "We know." they chorused in unison. Sobering up after laughing Sasha spoke. "Yes, we'll head to the library after I finish my coffee."
Feejhu shook her head. "No fanku. Ze leebai eese stoofy."
Ezzie frowned deeply. "What?"
"Oh boy..." Nadine laughed and sighed, finishing off her coffee. "Hey, Sasha? I'll meet you at the library then I need your help with something."
The pink haired man nodded. "Of course."
Feejhu blinked and poked her Daddy. "Dahdee. Traslate?"
Steve smiled and turned to Ezhno. "She said No thank you, the library is stuffy. She's a plant being so she likes being outside."
"Can you teach me to talk like that?" Ezzie asked with a large grin.
Nadine smiled. "It was great talking to you all..." She knelt down by Ezhno. "Hey, follow Sas--er... Butterfly to the library, kay? I have to get my crafts." She patted his head then smiled at Feejhu. "See you in class, sweetie." With that she walked out of the room and into her own.
"kay..." He said after her looking at Butterfly with puzzled eyes. He shrugged then turned back to the plant girl.
Feejhu blinked. "Talk lyek what?' she asked, blinking in a confused manner.
Steve pat her on the shoulder. "He wants to learn Dahi." the man told her. She blinked a few times. Turning back Steve spoke to Ezzie again. "Maybe Tan Pan will teach you some Dahi when she gets back to work. You best go with Sasha."
Sasha took the boys hand and led him into a HUGE library. There were thousands of books all out of order and laying all sorts of ways on the shelves. They were in piles on the floor along with scrolls and all sorts of other things. Quickly Sasha said. "Anna, put the shelf shield up for now if you don't mind. I don't want Ezhno pulling books on himself or having things fall on him." quickly the air in front of the shelves glistened like a wall but it seemed gone. An invisible shield was in place.
"Who's Anna....?" He asked looking around for the 'girl'. "Does she wanna play a game?"
"I'll introduce you to Anna in a bit. Why don't you help me put these scrolls in this pile so we have somewhere to sit.
Nadine walked in a few minutes later carrying a stack of construction paper, glue, markers, and glitter. "Sorry that took me so long....."
"It's fine." Sasha said, clearing off a table for her to work at. "I was just about to show Ezhno, Anna."
Oh! I'd like to see her too." She placed down her things then walked over to him. She was tempted to kiss him or give some term of endearment but wasn't sure if she should. They were married but were they in love?
Sasha closed his eyes and put a hand on one of the book shelves. The ground seemed to shift as the book shelf moved back and hid itself behind the others-the ship had rearranged itself again. There before them was a black room. Mysterious control panels were inside of this circular room and at the center two large generator things seemed to be facing each other-one on the ceiling and one on the floor-and between them was something amazing. A white substance that seemed to contain living electricity-but it glowed brighter and was stronger then just electricity. This all seemed to be contained within the area of the generators but still...live and wild. "This...is Anna."
Ezzie whimpered and grabbed onto Sasha's pants. He didn't like the strange thing and buried his face into his 'father's' leg. "Scary...."
Nadine on the other hand was fascinated. She crept toward it and held up a hand to touch it. "That's so cool... Hello Anna.... I didn't know you had a physicalish form...."
Suddenly the air fuzzed behind her and a woman of about 6'5" was standing next to her. She had long blond hair that curled a bit, big blue eyes and a somewhat heart shaped face with high cheekbones. She looked like Rouge only with a straight nose instead of the small upturned nose. "Well as physical as pure energy can be yes." the woman said calmly.
Nadine luckily put her hand down and turned to her. "That's awesome... A hologram I assume? Its good to finally meet you!" She clapped her hands together then beamed at her. "Did Rouge choose what you looked like or...?"
"No. This is my natural physical appearance as it would at been at my age of death. And yes I am a hologram. Though by most standards you could say that my physical form is the ship on which you stand as I am it's core."
"Dadddy..." The curly haired boy was tugging on his shirt now. "I don' wanna play this game..."
"Yes. If you define cool as getting killed and having your soul and power sucked into the core of a space ship you are building and leave your child an orphan I guess that would be cool." Anna said dryly.
Sasha pat his head softly and led Ezhno back into the library to look through the books with him.
Nadine frowned deeply and looked away. "I'm sorry I ...didn't mean to offend you.... " Gah, she kept messing up. She decided to question Sasha about the rest of the crew before talking to them. "I ... I'd better go make sure my .... um... I should check on Ezhno..."
Ezhno enjoyed the books greatly but wished he could read what they said.
Anna laughed. " Don't worry, you didn't' offend me. You didn't know. It's just not exactly a good memory. First you're saying goodbye to your 6 your old little girl about to go to work and finish something you can support her now that her dad is dead and the next thing you remember is waking up as a space ship that's been decommissioned and found by your daughter 7 years after your death in the junkyard behind the home of the people who adopted her." the blond shook her head and vanished again, getting back to rearranging the ship.
Sasha smiled and showed Ezhno some of the pictures drawn in a book or two. One of the ones they found was a Dahi record of the entire Sachita line-which currently ended with Sasha.
Nadine shook off the thought of that ever happening to her. It made her shudder and feel like things were prickling her skin. She walked out to her family and sat down with them. She looked over Sasha's shoulder. "Sachita? Is that your last name?"
"Yes. Sasha Sachita." (Sah-chee-ta.)
"Sachita... " She repeated to herself then paused to consider it. "Nadine Sachita..." It didn't sound too bad actually...
Sounds pretty." Sasha said, eyes sparkling a little. "Anyway, let's get back to work. We have to sort a lot of these scrolls to figure out what they are. Luckily most of them are readable and won't hurt us."
Once they were back in their room and Ezzie was preoccupied with his nap, Nadine approached Sasha. Her face was a deep crimson but she held herself proudly. "I need your help....."
He smiled broadly, turning to look at her. "What's up?"
"I ... can't wash my wings or my back..." She just couldn't figure out how to do it. She had tried on the night she got them and only ended up on the bathroom floor. Chasing one's self in circles makes one dizzy. "I was...um..." Maybe she should have asked one of the girls... "Can you help?"
Sasha blushed. "If you would feel comfortable with that I guess I could." he said, trying not to sound too eager to be near her like that. He did so very much want to be so close to her but he wanted to respect her privacy and personal space.
Hearing his lack of enthusiasm she relaxed a great deal. "If you wouldn't mind... I ended up with a sore bottom when I tried... my wings are larger then yours so its harder to do that thing you-.... Ahem." She marched into the bathroom. Jeeze, why couldn't she learn to keep her mouth shut?
Sasha blushed. "I saw one of your feathers the other night. I know." he told her softly before following her.
"You didn't say anything?" She closed the door behind him then locked it. Their wings were cleaned and they were brought closer then they could have ever imagined.
