In utter silence, a rather tall, youthful red haired man walked along, keeping his eyes fixed on the ground in front of him. He had gone into the capitol for the day, which was quite unusual for him. Cong had the tendency to not leave Chouzokugan too often, but he had a rather strange feeling as of recent, an itch to go somewhere outside his norm. His emerald eyes shifted to his hand, which had some of his more recent reading materials. He had been doing more reading that day, as he usually did in his spare time when he wasn't earning his keep. It was definitely his preferred form of entertaining himself.

But as he moved along, his eyes lifted up when he heard the steps of a horse, and his eyes caught a hold of the horse rearing up, and the young woman who had fallen to the ground, dropping all the items she had been carrying. While most of him really did not care about this, there was a small nag in the back of his mind. Coming to a halt, he watched the scene unfold, noting the woman who had been on the horse. Feeling a strange itch on his left ankle, Nakago looked up a bit more as the two on the horse rode off once more. Well, that woman was dressed quite odd. I wonder...

Softly sighing, his attention was pulled back to the woman who had been left in the dust. With a rather emotionless look across his face, he walked over after she had finished her bowing. He leaned down reaching down to pick up a few pieces from the armful of fabrics she had been carrying. Cong kept silent as he did so, moving to stand back up, and offered the small armful back to the woman.

Mai bowed again as the young man scolded her. She flinched at his tone, not used to being yelled at, but at this point, she was almost scared to look at him. She stared at the ground, and nodded. "It' w-won't happen again." she said, just above a whisper as she heard the horse start to move away. Mai couldn't believe she'd been so scatterbrained as to let that happen, and ontop of angering a strange man, she'd dropped her mother's fabrics.

A sigh escaped her as more of a flustered shudder, as she reached to pick up her fabrics. Her vision was blurred seeing as how her dulled blue eyes were filled to the brim with tears, but as she reached, she noticed that the fabrics had gotten closer. For the first time since being yelled at, she lifted her head to a strange, red-haired, young man who was holding some of her mother's fabrics out to her. She blinked once or twice, trying to gather the situation in her head, before quickly brushing the tears out of her eyes and holding out her arms to take the bundle from him. "Th-thank you." she sniffled, studying him as once again she felt the heat on her back.

A mild smile crossed the man's lips, fairly amused as he watched her searching for the fabrics in which he had picked up for her. Cong kept up his silence until she had actually taken notice to him. While, he was fairly curious as to why such an incident would cause so many tears for the woman, he wasn't the sort to intrude on such problems. Once she had taken hold of the fabrics and thanked him, he gave a slight nod. “Hmh. It's not a problem. I saw you walking into the horse, I figured you might need a little help.”

Straightening himself out, the red haired man glanced in the direction where the man and oddly dressed young woman on the horse went. He took a moment to watch the direction they were heading off in, memorizing it. His gaze shifted after the short moment, his emerald eyes once more fixing on the young woman. “... Do you need help carrying that? It looks looked as if it might have been a little much for you in the first place.”

She nodded again, with a slight laugh through a sniffle. "Believe me, that wasn't my intention." she sighed, trying to gather the fabrics in her arms as best she could so she wouldn't drop them again...then she realized there were still some on the ground. "Hopefully they didn't get too dirty..." she frowned to herself. Her mother would be really upset if she had damaged any of the fabrics, no matter how sincerely sorry Mai was. She sighed again as she looked up from the bundle in her arms, to follow the young man's line of vision. He was following the young pair on the horse.

Then it hit Mai. The young woman had been wearing some very peculiar clothes, ones she'd never seen before, which was odd for the daughter of a seamstress. She never took into account the connection between her mark acting up, and the strange dress, but she was snapped out of her thought as the young man looked back to her. Mai listened to his question, and couldn't shake the feeling that she knew him. "Uhm..." she mumbled, glancing to the fabrics "Yes...actually...If it's not too much trouble for you?" she said looking up to him shyly.

Giving a nod, the red haired man crouched down once more, to gather up the rest of the fabrics that were scattered about on the ground. There was something oddly familiar about the woman, but he didn't but too much thought into it. As he was gathering the fabrics, he glanced up to her, shaking his head. “No... It's not too much trouble. I was really only looking for a decent place to read, is all. I can put that off for another short while, I suppose.” Adding another slight smile, his head moved back down, his eyes scanning the ground to be assured that none other pieces of the fabrics were missing.

Once he was certain everything had been gathered, he brought himself back up, shifting his head in a motion to move some of his stray hairs away from his face. Cong always got quite annoyed with the fact that his hair would always move in front of his face and eyes. Never know why I don't just cut it off... Eh, not like it matters. He hadn't noticed that she had been looking off to the horse earlier on, otherwise he probably would have had to ask her about her thoughts on the young woman with the strange clothes. For now, he decided it was time to finish helping her and be on his way. “Which way, then?” Cong asked, speaking in his usual soft cold tone as he gazed down to her.

Mai took a moment to get her bearings again, as well as make sure she had all of the fabrics she'd left the store with, before nodding off in the direction she'd been aimlessly walking before making a scene. "This way." she said, as she began to walk, watching the young man to make sure that he was following her. "Read, huh?...That's all I wanted to do, today." she sighed, more to herself than anything as she made sure to pay close attention to where she was walking, trying her hardest to push aside thoughts of the girl in strange clothes, and what she'd been reading earlier today.

Needless to say, trying to push said thoughts aside wasn't going to well for her. Looking over at the young man again, the blue haired young woman worked up enough courage to ask; "What...what did you think of that girls clothes? ...I've never seen anything like that before...Do you think she's foreign?", questions seemed to keep tumbling out of her mouth. She was curious to see if she was the only one who had noticed, or if she was getting herself worked up over the old legends again, however, she stopped herself, as to not appear rude to him, seeing as how he was helping her.

Cong followed along silently behind the girl, noting that she had been checking on him to see that he was following. While it was rather annoying to see her checking up, he couldn't really blame her. He simply nodded as she mentioned that all she wanted to do was read during the day. That was really all he had intended on doing for that particular day, but he had obviously been pulled of course from that. Not putting much more thought in it, he listened as she finally brought up the young lady on the horse.

While he looked more as if he was frustrated by her line of questions, he knew he was just as curious as the young woman was. “...I've never seen clothes like she was wearing before. She must be a foreigner. Though...” Cong's voice trailed off, as he had already started calculating about what the strange clothes and the itch on his ankle had meant earlier on. “... far fetched, but maybe she's that Priestess from those old legends, you know?”

It took her a moment to make sure that what she thought she'd heard the young man say, was in reality, what he said. She knew that she had been thinking that there was indeed a relation between her mark flaring up, and the strange dress of the young woman, but she thought, as he'd said, that such a likelyhood was quite far fetched. Once Mai had confirmed that what she heard, was what he said, her eyes glided back to him.

"You...really think that's what it could be?" she asked timidly. She wasn't sure how she should react, seeing as how she knew many people feared the Celestial Warriors and she never knew if this stranger was one such person. Soi blinked slowly and chewed her lip a bit, while she waited for his response.

Jin kept the horse moving quickly until they were near his home, then he slowed to a stop, to make sure Tatsuko was alright. He looked down at her, making her she was alright. "I am so sorry, I wanted to get out of there before the horse spooked again. He isn't my normal horse, that animal never would have behaved in such a way. Come, let's get you to my home so you can rest and have some tea... you're still burning up..."

Having slowly released Jin's arm, and having returned to leaning against him, Tatsuko was actually starting to feel more than just a little warm. She didn't know what it was, but she was feeling a bit woozy as well, causing her to keep her eyes closed. When Jin spoke up, her eyes slid open, slowly to look up at him. She looked like she was about to collapse from the warmth that was still taking over, and partially from exhaustion. Giving him a small smile, she nodded. "It's alright. I understand... I wouldn't have wanted to fall off... I've never rode a horse before." She let her eyes close once more, letting her head rest limply on his shoulder. "What is it like, being a Lord? It must be interesting..." Her voice trailed off as she spoke.

Jin could fell her burning up, and they were still a ways from his home. "Lady," he whispered softly, "your fever is becoming dangerous..." his lips were right next to her ear, the cool, blue mist leaking from between them as his symbol flared to life again. "Part your lips, there isn's much of a choice. I fi don't heal you, you could fall unconscious..." He gently placed his hand on the side of her face, and tilted her head up to look her in the face... "Let me help... I was born to protect you... priestess..."

The feeling of Jin's cool breath against her ear was, oddly enough, soothing. Tatsuko supposed it was because of his odd ability that he mentioned, something which still didn't make any sense. It wasn't until he tilted her head to look at him, her eyes slipping open slightly, and he called her 'priestess' that it actually started to click in her head. There where times she could be a bit slow, mostly when she wasn't certain if it was a dream or not. It finally started to make sense. Priestess... and he said his name was Suboshi... the mark... it really is like Shinsei's grandmother's stories... Her lips parted, slightly, as though she was going to speak. But... the priestessess already came...

Suboshi leaned forward, lightly setting his lips against hers. He gently blew his ki into her mouth, the act was draining on him, but he had no choice. He had to help her, she couldn't be ill, it made him fell like he wasn't doing his best if she was suffering. He felt something stir in his chest, when he felt the light touch of her lips... he wanted to pressing in more, but he didn't, not wanting to steal her first kiss away.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 24, 2007 8:32 pm

Her eyes slipping shut once more, Tatsuko could feel his lips very lightly sit upon hers, as his cooling breath filled her lungs. It was chilling, and tingled a bit, something that she didn't expect. It was nice, truthfully. Though, there was more than just the tingling in her chest from his ki. There was something more. A part of her wished he would lean forward just a bit, to apply more pressure... a true kiss, but she pushed it down. She only stayed like that for a few moments, allowing only a bit of his ki to enter her before Tatsuko pulleed away. She was still woozy, but she didn't want him to exhaust himself to help her. Her eyes slipped open, a finger slipping to his lips to pause him. "I don't want you to get tired, Jin..." she said, softly, a weak smile on her lips. Letting her head rest against his shoulder once more, Tatsuko was still warm, though it was starting to subside slowly.

Jin was a bit disappointed when she pulled away, and part of him know that he would have completely drained himself if it meant making her well... and being able to feel her lips on his. His symbol started to fade and he smiled a bit, nodding, and with his arm firmly around her waist to keep her in place, the warrior prodded the horse on. "Some food, tea and rest should cure the rest of your ailment... I'm sure my father would allow me to set you up with a beautiful room... and you asked about what it was like to be a lord... it's like being a caged animal, though the cage is cleverly disguised so you'd never see it... not until you challenged the bars."
