Rogue Specter Nhyndel Falcondeity They fight the evil races everyday in order to protect everyone in the Realms. You do realise that there are evil rangers in the Realms... in the books they tend to be highly emphisised as 'defenders of the goodly races with minor skill with nature' as compaired to 'outdoorsy tracker people' sweatdrop I'm not to fond of the exagerated discription much (ussually playing a ranger myself), don't we have Paladins for the whole 'Defenders of Justace' but? confused hmm, Epic Paladin... that's acually a scary thought <.<; That's in the books, but really, there are evil rangers in the Realms and even paladins might step on the dark side (Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande for example)...since alignment is subject to change...but come to think of it, yes Epic Paladin is a scary thought =)

I think what they ment was rangers are usually good, sence very few classes acually have a alinment restriction...
and tecniclly, the only way to be an evil Paladin would be to use varent rules (which few do) because the secound you become Chaotic and/or Evil, you're no longer offically a paladin neutral
you could be a Blackguard though <.<

Nhyndel Don't you think it's a shame that most Epic characters in the Realms are Wizards (or some other Arcane spellcasters) whereas there are only a few Epic represantatives of other classes (if at all present)? Where are all Epic Fighters and Bards? Why are Mystra's chosen so popular, not Gond's/Oghma's etc. (only Fzoul can kinda compete with them in popularity) for example? I understand that magic users are more powerful when they reach Epic levels and it is hard for other classes to match them, but still I'd love to have an Epic rogue or an assassin lurking somewhere in the Realms. So what do you think? Do we need more varieties of Epic characters? Are you happy with the current situation? Or do you think there are enough Epics in the game? Read the ELH, there are characters like Gerti Orelsdottr, Storm Silverhand or guys like Shuruppak, the chosen of Gilgeam or Iyraclea... so i don't see your point.

though I've never really heard of other two
never really looked through the Epic Level Handbook eather though...

You should. It's a real good read.
I liked the chapter on epic spellcasting best...
And recognized that Elminster is unable to develop and cast epic spells...
*laughs out loud*

some more rogue/assassin epic/chosen character are Erevis Cale and Drasek Riven of Mask they are also clerics

I can actually see why not too many people play epic level Bards. It's hard to play that much charisma. And besides that, Bards build their reputations on their performances. Yes, they can base their songs and whatnot on what happens to the party, but in order to play an epic level Bard right, you gotta sit down and write. That's a lot of work for any player.
When it comes to canon NPC Bards in the Realms, the only one I can think of with the potential to become that is Danilo Thann. But the last stat block I saw for him (which was, I believe, in the most recent Waterdeep source book, but was only a list of his levels) had him about 7 levels away, still.

the silly thing is that people who are epic are world renown for istant if your not epic but belong to the Night Masks in a variation thats a world renown and epic guild in itself. Bard travel and tell tales of epicness but often don't go out and make tales of themselves they are the back row watchers razz . ummm rangers and druids in my opinion play a major part in ridding the world of evil and unbalance on the plane (ish talking of good alignment classes now) but they are also reclusive and sercretive so no one really knows about them to really spread epicness you need to achieve something that goes beyond normal comprehension almost godlike to the eyes of the world and not many classes really can achieve that without an idea on how to prove such deeds
