Urishima Kazama Actually all true Goths are atleast interested in the occult, the rest are posers. pretty much all gothic stereotypes are true, except we are rich and worship Satan. And I already knew all you told me about Astral Projection, and I know we have all "done" it. Well, I haven't done it since I stopped Sleep-walking a couple years back. Hmm, now that I think of it, this may have all stopped around the time I started learing about this all and becoming Skeptical. Or maybe when I started to get Insomnia... Anywho, I still have a hard time believing this all. If I really did talk to God, as I dreamed I did, it is true we can do it. But, if it was just a dream, all I can do is keep learning. I do have Deja'vu alot if that means anything. And if this means anything, my earliest memories (from my crib) where about "astral projecting." And also, probably one more meaningless thing; I am good at doing paraboles, like Jesus or something. Like once I did something like "your body is a bus and your life is a busride to your finall destination of heavan or hell." And I just did one in this very own guild. (First bold) Untrue. You don't have to worship satan to be goth. Goth isn't even what you think it is. It was a form of literature ( writing) and art, you could say ( example, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein). It originally had nothing to do with satan. That's just how people changed it. It's been adapted (or so some think) to what it is today. Any thought on Goths worshipping satan is a stereotype in most ( if not all modren day cases). This would have all began when Satan-worshipping was the "in-thing", or beleif of the time. Soin that, you wrote an incorrect statement there. ( second bloded part) If you have insomnia, that would explain why you don't sleep walk. But again, Sleep-walking is something you can grow out of. I don't think Insomnia would affect astral projection too much ( except for the part when you aren't sleeping, that could pose a problem, right? Or is it possible to astral project with your eyes open?...sorry, off topic.. sweatdrop ) Edit: I'm sorry if I've come off as rude......

ah funny memories of the steriotype goth placed on me. xd i have a couple of bondage pants that i wear to school and some kid on the bus turned and looked at me and my friend. he was going on about that we worship satin or something cus of what we wear. i simply told him that i do not belive in a such supreeme evil figure and my friend agreed with me.
his exprestion was quite funny 3nodding
but for magick its the power of will to change some thing, if you dont belive it wont happen. think back when you where a kid, probly belived in the tooth fairy or santa right? the only reason most people stop beliving in such things becuse society forces it on them saying 'grow up' and such. try not to listen to such things, mabie faireys do exist the idea had to come up from some where

Nobody can convince me there is no such thing as fairies and divja jaga or mačka Mora... I apologise for the lack of translations but... I've no clue if these things even exist in English. But I suppose, if I had to go really think about why I believe in such things, it would probably be because I like magic in life. Something that makes it more... sparkly. Just knowing that if you see divja jaga you should step or hide in kneel in the left side of the road and cover your ears and eyes and be really really quiet... (If you don't, they'll either throw an axe in you, that will cause you pain all year long, untill next year, you come to the same place and they'll take it back out... Or they'll just take you with them. )makes life a different shade.

If I'm not too late to be posting opinions for the first post, I'd like to have my say.
Your reasons for being skeptical were that you know lots of people who cannot do it, and that you THINK you're a good candidate of "this", why can't you do it no matter how hard you try.
You cannot do it BECAUSE you are skeptical. If you don't beleive that you can do with all your heart and soul, it simply won't happen. There are times when this comes easily to us, if you ride your bike for a while, then you don't even stop to think about turning or breaking, you just KNOW, BELEIVE you can do it. The same is true for absolutely every aspect of your life, and until you can cast aside your skepticism, i'm afraid you'll only come to doubt yourself more.
The best thing i can think of advising you to do is disregard your first reason. Those you know are incapable of acheiving what they CAN achieve because they don't think they can. There is your reason, dwell on that no more. Seccondly, as Angel said, you need to really practace, it takes a very long time to master almost any skill, and because magick requires so much beleif in yourself and what you can do, it is one of the hardest skills of all. Keep working at it, and if, in a year, things havn't changed, you have my full pardon for entirly forgetting you were ever a practitioner of the Craft
Blessed be. ~Wolfsbane
