He glanced over, and shook his head slightly, smiling. "No, I'm ok ... the snow is just cold." He was doing a decent job on one leg though, he thought ... carefully reshaping the oval a bit as he went so the kitsu didn't look ... fat.

"Well... if you're sure." Diina examined the snow-kitsu. "So... I guess I'll make tails now." She stood to trot around behind the snowball, unintentionally brushing against Ashaan lightly as she went. She was startled by the strange thrill that went through her and covered it up by enthusiastically piling snow up and trying to shape it to look like kitsu tails.

Ashaan shivered again at that, though this time ... not from the cold. He'd felt an echoing thrill and turned to watch her for a moment, looking almost ... entranced.

Diina managed to finish a set of sort-of tails. It was difficult to do a proper job of it when she was so distracted by Ashaan's staring at her. It was made even more difficult by the nearly overwhelming urge she had simply to go touch him in some form or fashion. Finally she caved in and went and sat down by him again. Diina didn't really know why she was doing it, but she tentatively tucked her head underneath his. "I'm glad you're here... I don't like it when you're not around." That sounded weird by itself. "I'd still be stuck with just a big snowball if you hadn't come and helped." That was less weird... but the situation and these strange feelings weren't helping to make things feel normal.

Ashaan had been concentrating on getting the legs and paws right ... having stepped back for a moment to eye his work. He wasn't really paying so much attention to Diina and so it surprised him when she was suddenly not only beside him but very nearly under him.
He tensed a little and looked down, as much as he was able. It took a moment for her words to even get through and make sense. "A-ah ... yea. I guess you would have," he replied lamely.

Diina's nerves kicked in after that and she scrambled away from Ashaan. She knew she was blushing furiously, and it was only made worse by her embarassment at the fact that she didn't understand why she was blushing in the first place. She was so confused right now... and she was bothered by this feeling that playing wasn't all she wanted to do right now, but she had no idea what else it was she wanted to do...
She studiously went back to shaping the tails. "It's looking pretty good... maybe we can finish it soon and go inside? They might have cocoa or something since it's so cold out..." She was talking just for the sake of filling the silence with something other than confused thoughts and strange feelings... but cocoa sounded good all the same. "Wait... I forgot the ears!" How the heck was she supposed to make ears?

Ok ... ok ... now he was on a bit surer footing himself, without her pressed up against him so close like that. When they touched, it ... made him think of things that he probably shouldn't be thinking about. Not with Dinna. Diina was his friend. And he didn't want to ruin that.
"Cocoa would be nice," he murmured in return, not really sure if she was even listening. She seemed distracted ... but his own head came up at her exclaimation about the ears. "Oh uh. Maybe ... they could just be back against the head?" He layed his own ears back to demonstrate. "Like that? So we could carve them in ..." The pose looked rather silly though ...

Diina sat back and looked at the snow-kitsu for several moments before her ears shot up and her eyes lit up. She had a good idea. Or... she thought it was. "I'll move his head so it looks likes he's taking a nap and we carve ears in above his front legs then! That'd look ok, right?" It was much easier to feel more normal around Ashaan when she was a few feet away from him right now...

He blinked, and tilted his head as if trying to visualize that. "Ooh, like this?" he asked, turning a couple of circles and laying down in the snow with his head turned to one side. "Yea ... that should work. You want me to stay like this so you can see how to do it?" he asked.

Diina giggled. "Sure! You look cute like that." She trotted over and started shifting the head down so it would look more like the kitsu was napping and figured out where to mark out the ears. Ashaan really did look cute... And rather than think about it, she said, "Ok, I think I got it. D'you think you can fix the tails?"

He jumped up at that, grateful since the snow was cold to lay down in. His body heat had melted a little puddle ... so his belly was wet now, fur clumped together. He thought about asking Diina to model next but ... well. He didn't want that to happen to her.
"Let's seeee," he murmured, walking around and eyeing those tails. He reached over to fix a few bumps in the middle one, smoothing it. And then moved to make the tips a little more pointed.

Diina finished the ears and then carved a face on the head with closed eyes and a little triangle shaped nose. Then she bounced over by Ashaan, not as close as she had been before, but closer than she'd been willing to get for a little while. Her excitement over finishing the snow-kitsu overrode a lot of her newfound nervousness. "What d'you think?" She beamed at him, tails wiggling in excitement. It was neat to see it finished!

Ashaan took that closeness just a bit farther, shifting to lean over against her, almost playfully. "It looks great!" His own nose wrinkled. "But ... I have to admit, I'm freezing now. Snow-kitsus might be meant for sleeping out here ... but not me."

Diina almost purred when Ashaan leaned against her, she was so happy at the moment. Just almost. But for some reason the idea of actually doing it was... weird, again. So she just licked his nose and trotted toward the HQ. "Let's see if we can find some cocoa inside then!"

"Sounds good to me," he replied, and pulled back, almost bouncing a little himself - as if something of Diina's personality had rubbed off on him. Really though, he'd wanted to just ... stay like that. For a long time. And then maybe ... but no. He couldn't do that. And so he tried to cover it up, following Diina.
