my knife, at home i use a cleaver and a pairing knife...thats it... at work...(fancy restraunt) when the boss is looking I use "whatever knife the task at hand calls for" but on the weekends ill bust out a cleaver and pairing knife and be better than all their "proper" knives.
I like to keep things simple. quick , and clean!

Baking has never been the same since I purchased a KitchenAid Mixer. It mixes, it whips, and it even kneads dough! heart I also like my garlic press- I hate chopping.

G03 My favorite piece cooking equipment would be a wooden rolling pin. Yes, very simple. The smooth wood, though, is just very classic and traditional. Not the most high-tech gadget I own, but still nice. Same thing with me! They are so awsome! You can also use it as a defense method just in case someone scares you. wink

I love best my chef's knife and my cast iron grillpan. I also love my silicon baster, and my balloon whisk. ^_^ And, and, can't forget my metal tongs to grab foods with!

I have a few gadgets and although I don't use them often, I love them dearly.
La Cruset Tagine pasta machine mortar and pestle
I have coffee in the morning and my hubby a hot choccie, so one of those small little whisks has been getting a lot of use lately. No more lumps in the choccie!

indigo nightbird What random kitchen gadgets bring you the most joy? I think I enjoy balloon whisks the most. After I discovered them, mixing was never the same. I like heat resistant spatulas as well...never again will I melt a spatula. wink I haven't melted a spatula for years, but I have chewed up a couple in the food processor. I have lots of wooden spoons with just a chunk taken out.

Microplane! I use it all the time!
And the immersion blender because it's fantastic.

Wooden spoon, cleaver, and knife. Though really I like them all but most are designed with a specific purpose, so can't really use them all the time. Unless I'm preparing an 8 course banquet or something. Cleaning them all isn't so much fun though.

the Electric grill. I'm not talking about the George Foreman grill, aka the steak crematorium. I'm talking old school. The one that actually looks like a grill. It's nothing more than a heating element, a ceramic bowl and a grid.
Why the electric grill and not a gas grill or charcoal? Because I hate grilling in the rain.

Standing mixer! That's the coolest kitchen appliance like ever. I love using them for things like pizza dough so I don't have to do it by hand and it's much cleaner.
