He glanced over one time as they moved, watching her flap her ebony wings. "So, Miss Zhenga, how long have you been in these parts? I'm certain you can't be all that new, right?" The sound of running water drifted to his ears, and the pace was picked up again, a bit, with a teasing grin.

She took note of his new increased pace in which she easily caught up with. Giving him a small grin as she looked at him. "I haven't been here too long, but I'm not that wet behind the ears. I know a bit of this land but not as much as I should."

"Well, you're about to be." he informed her. "Race you to the water!" and took off. Not too fast, he didn't know how fast she was, but he didn't want to let her win either. "Last one there.... ummm.... loses the race!" he said lamely, with a wry chuckle.

Zhenga blinked as he took off, a bit stunned for a second. A small smirk curled the corners or her mouth as quick as a shot she took off after him. "Oh yea?" She lashed her tail about and kept her wings tight against her body. Her head was held low to decrease wind speed. "I think the only one who's going to lose the race it you!" She called out as she sped past him.
Zhenga was fast, but she wasn't sure how fast Ohanzee was. Either way, she'd find out. The mare was always up for a challenge.

He pulled on all his stregnth. Geez, wind soquili weren't just fast in the air! But he wouldn't give up, he'd not spent time running from Duo for nothing! He put on an extra burst of speed, catching up nose to nose, and pacing her. He didn't know how fast she was either, but it sure would be fun to find out!
((He has a speed stat of 39, Btw... did you want to race them like they do in the official soquili games? Or just rp it?))

Zhenga raised an eyebrow as he started to catch up. Watching him out of the corner of her eye, she gave a small smirk as she continued to race on. Hmmm....how could she bring this to her advantage? Turning her head slightly, she licked his cheek and then sped off as fast as she could. If that didn't catch him off guard she didn't know what would.

Oh, it caught him. The stallion ground to a stop with an alarmed look on his face. Wha? Then, he caught on to just how dim he was and how devious that mare was, and went after her again at full speed... he wouldn't even play this time! He gained ground slowly, but.... he was gaining it. Unfortunately, though... he didn't think he'd gain it in time!
He reached out for her tail, determined to pull it, maybe scare her into slowing down.
But first, he had to catch it! "Come back here, you cheater!"

She let out a loud giggle as she continued to run. Whipping her head around a few times to see how much ground he was gaining. It was obvious that she had caught him off guard there for a moment. But knew that he probably wouldn't let down his guard again.

He dropped his head and plowed forward, like a bull. It might have been intimidating, if, well... one hadn't spoken to him. Ohanzee was hardly an intimidating creature. Solid, at times stern, quiet, he still liked most people... and it showed.
He finally managed to n** a few loose hairs (he thought, he could never really be sure with all the running. Wind blew stuff loose too!) and draw up a bit closer alongside her. He nipped teasingly at her haunches as he pulled up slowly. Old age paid off!

Zhenga gasped lightly as he nipped at her. Though it only gave her the drive to move faster, away from his teeth. She flicked her tail to tap him on the side of the face lightly as she kicked up her front legs and soared over a log. Her wings spreading out slightly to slow down her landing so she didn't stumble. "Hey now. Watch where you're nipping." She called back to him as she looked over her shoulder.

He laughed, following her over the log easily, and using her slowed landing to catch up to her as best he could. "And watch where you're licking!" he called back, adding another burst of energy. She was good...
But not that good.
He caught up to her shoulders, and stayed there for a bit, pacing, waiting to see if she could keep the pace up until the water. And if she didn't lick at him again, he might just let her win...
If he could. Sheesh, shouldn't wings be slowing her down? He was starting to get fatigued.... but it wasn't that far to the river. It was right there, shining blue and silver, and beautiful in the moonlight.
And he was thirsty!

She gave a short giggle and shook her head. "Would you rather I nibble your ear and totally stop you then?" Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted that he was gaining ground, and quickly. Her wings tightened as hard as they could against her body as she let out one last burst of energy that her muscles could spare.
The run was fun, but it was also very exhausting. As they started to get closer to the river, she spotted the shore not too far off. Sooner than she had expected they were pretty close and she dug her hooves into the ground, flaring her wings to slow down her forward momentum. Falling into the icy water or going face first into a froze lake wouldn't be all that great.

Hehe. He didn't mind the water. And so he ran full-tilt into the water, shooting past her body as she ground for a halt, sending up a huge splash. When he resurfaced, he was able to respond to her teasing. "Well, if you can nibble on me now, feel free." he was belly-deep in icy water. No chunks though. Goodness, maybe it was a wee bit cooler than he had anticipated.
Stubborn pride didn't let him show it.
"I win."

Zhenga gave a snort and paced along the side of the water's bank. Water was fine, when it was warmer. But she really didn't feel like freezing her butt off. Giving a small chuckle, she shook her head. "Well, if you want me to..."
She flicked her tail as she stood there, her hooves on the very edge. "And you only said to the river. Not into it. So you can believe you won if you want."

He raised an eyebrow. "Have an attractive mare nibble on me? Well, I can't think of any stallion that would mind that." he said frankly. And pulled out of the water. "Much too cold to stay in there. Be glad you didn't win." he gave her a grin. "And I suppose it was a bit vague of an ending point, wasn't it?"
