I unfortunately don't think you'd like Cowboy Bebop, SJL. Mabye Trigun? It's got awesome music, awesome fighting, no boobs, and sort of cyber-punkish. You might not like how sad one part of it is, but other than that, it's not that angsty. Those who know Trigun know I'm speaking of Wolfwood. Marril sort of bosses Vash around, but not really.

I totally dig Cowboy Bebop. Awesome music.

Trigun doesn't interest me that much. It's kinda slow in the beginning, but I'll check it out because everyone loves it so much.

And MTQ, thanks for the Beck review, I will check it out. And thanks for the Violinist of Hamelin.

Oh, you do like Cowboy Bebop? That kind of surprises me, considering you didn't want that much boob, a woman bossing around the main character, and a crazily sad ending. ^.^ That's cool though.
Sorry Mayumi, I can't think of anything I've read you might be interested in.

This might not be the right place, but could someone tell me a little about Model?

The music made up for it.

And Edward. scream heart

Model is a Lollita manga (Gothic). I haven't read it, because I'm not dark enuff. ):

MTQ will put this here because she figures it is related. MTQ wants to read a new comic and she is thinking about one of these, tell her anything you know about them:
X-Day
Swan
INVU
Barefoot Gen
Aria
Chicago
From Eroica with Love
Paradise Kiss
Bannana Fish
Gals!

Aria is awesome. I haven't read it yet, but it's good.

That is rather general but I'll see what I can do.
For drama I would recommend Now and Then Here and There. I'm no good at summaries. It's very depressing, almost every episdoe made me cry.

For comedy try Castle of Caglostro. It's a classic. Miyazaki+Lupin=Awsome.

I'm pretty sure that's the one that James Cameron wants to make live action. It was my introduction to Lupin as well.

Personally, I love From Eroica with Love. But I have strange tastes. Let me give you a little explanation. Eroica's a shojo manga that started in the 70's. It's very heavily influenced by that time period.

http://www.eroicafans.org/ is one of the best Eroica sites on the web. Because I'm lazy, I'm going to quote their description of the manga:

Quote:
In case you've just wandered in here and aren't sure what it's all about, From Eroica With Love is a Japanese manga (series of comic books or graphic novels) by Yasuko Aoike, which has gained a following in the English-speaking world. It has a mostly European setting and concerns the adventures of a British aristocrat, Dorian Red, Earl of Gloria, who moonlights as an international art thief using the alias "Eroica", and his opposite number, a German NATO intelligence agent named Major Klaus Heinz von dem Eberbach. Dorian is flamboyant, swashbuckling, hedonistic, and cheerfully indifferent to most of society's conventions; he's also openly homosexual. Klaus is uptight, conservative, duty-driven, bad-tempered, and so repressed that he probably doesn't know himself what his sexual orientation is, but he does give some indications that he's not entirely immune to Dorian's attractions.

It does have it's problems. One is the art style. It's very 70's shoujo which can look odd if you're not used to it. Second, it gets off to a slow start. The first couple of stories focus on these three psychic teenagers. It eventually switches to the whole Dorian-Klaus storylines. Three, it's primarily a humor-action manga and it will go over the top at times. Yes. Dorian flirts with Klaus but they argue alot more.

But if you're looking for something that's fun to read and that's nothing like you've read before, give it a chance. And as I said before, check out http://www.eroicafans.org/ It has lots of information and manga summaries to give you an idea of what you're getting into.

Maryohki would like a recommendation!

Note: I would like something obscure, but not something unliscenced.

What OhkiBaka likes: Humor, dark storylines, boy love/shonen-ai/yaoi, shoujo ai/yuri, cute things, cute bishies, gothic lolita like themes, catboys, alternate realities.

What OhkiBaka doesn't like: Big super popular series (I've probably already seen and formed an opinion on it), plotholes, characters that are used improperly (Fushigi Yuugi for instance), series that go past episode 150 and start repeating themselves, overused themes.

OhkiBaka's favorite anime: Vampire Princess Miyu, Haibane Renmei, Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist, Comic Party

Ohkibaka's Favorite Manga: Tokyo Babylon, X/1999, Bobobo-Bo bo-BOBO, Azumanga Daioh, Godchild, Tramps Like Us.
