i like being called "plus sized"
but i never really get offended at the name someone calls me itself... i'm more offended at the tone of voice they use it in. if one calls me "fat" in a condecending way, then i snap and start ranting and raving. but if one calls me "fat" in a more playful tone, as a friend would, its all good.
the only word i really cannot stand is "fatass" and i dont like the word "obese" either
perhaps thats why i hate the doctor? *ponders*

I prefer curvy.. it seems to fit better than other things. chubby sounds like a chipmunk... and I'm a homo sapien. 3nodding
I don't think it matters if you say it or someone else says it, it's just the WAY it's said that matters. It's like calling someone buddy or pal when they're not your buddy and/or pal...
I think the most offensive term would have to be fatass. Especially accompanied by "******** you" and screamed out of a car. mad

I'm not really fond of the word "husky," just because of how it sounds, and I take offense to anything if its meant to be an insult, no matter what the word is. As for what I like, I love the word voluptuous, and curvy, and plump, and I don't mind fat or even chubby.
And by the way, I haven't seen that CSI episode, but I bet it would have pissed me off.

The Tragic Libertine. What about you guys? What do you prefer to be called? I really don't like to be called anything but thick. Thick feels sensually right for soem reason. Also, do you think it matters whether you say it yourself or someone else does? Are there terms that you personally find offensive or hurtful? Well if it's offensive, it shouldn't matter who says it--it just shouldn't be said. I pretty much don't care what Im called, unless I'm called that someone I don't like. I agree with the thick part. razz But quetsion to all: Do you think its a regional type thing? The girls I know here in Alabama dont settle for anything but thick.

Well over here in England you would be calling yourself stupid. We prefer voluptuous(sp?).

I think thick is really more an... ethcnic (I think that's the right term) thing. I'm in Alabama, too (albeit, in Hoover) and I've barely heard it used. Region has a bit to do with it, but white Hoover girls usually don't call themselves thick. The only reason I didn't think you were saying you like to be called stupid is because I have co-workers who when they see a hot girl go "Damn, that girl is thick!" And of course, she usually has a large a** and sometimes boobs. I think you have to hear the way it's said to realize it's not an insult.

Not sure what all the bigger girls of my region would prefer though. But if you look at language and how it changes regionally, it makes sense. For example, I grew up in the Albany area of New York state, and everyone refers to carbonated beverages as "soda" there. Now I live near Buffalo, and here its "pop." This has led to many interesting word wars between my friends and I sweatdrop So I can understand the ladies where you come from hating anything but "thick."

I am not a big fan of "chubby" I was chubby when I was a little girl and I am not a little girl. I usually refer to myself as voluptuos or pleasantly plump... and only I can call myself fat... I nearly beat up this a*****e at my cousins graduation who called me fat, but then agian it was accompanied with a few other very offensive words. Oh well..

I call my boyfriend chubby.
I think the word chubby is cute. Like pudgy, which is also cute.
I always thought fat would be offensive.
It's just kindof a weird, hard, ugly sounding word to me.
If I was larger, I'd giggle if people called me rotund.
That is an awesome word.
Rotund.
Just gah.

I perfer being called curvy, cuddly, or fluffy. xD Chubby and plump aren't too bad either. xD
I'm trying to get over the hurt I feel when being called fat. Dx (Playfully by my friends and family I mean.) Because I am fat and I don't care. Well okay I care a little, but I mean I'm okay with it. I like my body even if there are things I'd change. xD
It's just that everyone uses that word negatively. So of course I automatically think of fat as bad, an insult, because it usually is and go into defensive mode. But really fat isn't that bad of a word. It isn't like they're calling me a b***h or something. D< Though I think unless it was a friend kidding around I'd probably kick someone in the shin for calling me it. xD Or just, you know, insult them back.
Well to a certain degree I don't mind my friends kidding around with me. Of course I don't want to be called fatass 24/7. xD (Like I'd be friends with someone who called me that though.) My family, and by that I mean just my Mom and my brother are allowed to call me whatever they want because I know they'd never say it hurtfully. <3 Besides being poked and called fluffy isn't really a big deal lol. However when people I don't know or people I do know and don't like call me 'fat' and all those other things in an obviously insulting way I get angry and hurt. Offensive terms to me are just anything said in a degrading or insulting manor. =3
