He raised an eyebrow. He'd never been called Jean before.. He wasnt sure how much he liked it. He hated shortening names. It seemed so tiring, and what was the point in having a name if you were going to shorten it to make it easier to say.
A name was a name, and if it was too hard to say, it was none of your buisness. But he smiled, and shook his head.
"JC is more my speed, than just Jean."
"Um, well.. If you have a crush, you can usually watch the creature before you 'get together.' It helps you decide if they;re really the one for you."

She gave him a weird look. "JC it is, then," she consented, wanting to roll her eyes at the tone he used to say that. Instead, however, she merely laughed. "If you want me to just keep call you by your full name you can just say so. I'm not the kind of mare that would snap at you just because I wanted to shorten the name, but it is easier."
Mocha pranced slightly from side to side as she thought over JC's words. "I guess so. But the one I like is kind of aloof. He's very distant-like, and kind of seems like you. He likes to be by himself, but he's enjoyable company."

He nodded a bit, then smiled.
"Lets change the subject of names, for they can be changed, and the creature that was once named, would still be the same."
He pawed at the snow under his feet. He had forgotten its existance uncer his hoof, and was somewhat relieved to be back into reality. He had been day-dreaming again, even if he was carrying a conversation.
He was a master multi-tasker, and was good at proving it.
"Aloof? Well, all I can really say, is that if he is like me, he'll be attracted by a mare who stay by him, and is a confident friend first."

She gave him a kind smile, one of her rare gentle smiles that said she liked it. "Okay, then," she agreed. Wings shifted as she bent down to feel the snow on her nose, and then pulled back just as suddenly when she realized how cold it was.
Grinning sheepishly, she quirked an ear in JC's wise words. "I see. Well, that's easy and hard to do all at once. I've seen two such examples in my life as I've grown up... and maybe a third, but I admit to saying that that's a good idea, JC."
