I loved it. Got a bit of a lump in my throat at the flashback to "New Earth", but it was brilliant! 8.9 million viewers, they're reckoning it got...
Mind you, the Empress of Racnoss (Sarah Parish, who David worked with on "Blackpool" and a forthcoming show "Recovery", also known in the UK for "Cutting It", a hairdressing drama) scared me. Not sure if that's cos of her performance, my severe arachnophobia or a mixture of the two! smile
Roll on next series...

I thought that it was about ten times better than last years episode. I wish rose had been more like Donna, she reminds of an old series companion. I really didn't like the way the TARDIS took off though, it looked really... wierd, strange and wrong. New series looks good though, I just wish they'd stop using the DALEKS (or any old series monsters) in the finales, USE SOME OF YOUR OWN GOOD IDEAS RUSSELL FOR CHRIST SAKE, WE ALL NOW THE DALEKS ARE THE DOCTORS WORST VILLIAN BUT WHAT IS THE F*CKING POINT OF HAVING THEM IN THE FINALE OF EVERY SERIES, it shows a lack of imagination. I'm happy to see Mark Gatiss involved in the new series though, but it would have been better if he had written an episode.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a friend to download it!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin
So anyway, now that I've seen it....
IT WAS REALLY AWESOME!!! I mean, with the pockets, and he... actually said Gallifrey! and-.... wow. No really, wow. Maybe I'm just all psyched because I get to see it before EVERYONE ELSE in Australia but I thought it was excellent. He does a lot more with the TARDIS, and he's still kinda sad about Rose and... yeah, it was cool!

I didn't really like the Robot santas, and ... it would have been nice if the queen racnoss actually moved a bit more, and the snowing thing... eh, but otherwise it was excellent.

Rhiannon2006 Looking forward to meeting Martha (and the potential of an intelligent and classier companion... shades of Sarah Jane, I hope). smile As long as Martha doesnt end up with "The Martha Jones Adventures" i'm fine with her being like Sarah Jane.

A very good episode but not quite perfect, mostly because of Lance. He was awful and entirely unconvincing. Just like last year, however, the entire episode was completely overshadowed by the 60 seconds of next season footage.

CmdrPuffin He finally said the G word! XP !!! I know!! I think I'm still in a state of shock! The Doctor seems to have gone through a depressing change since Rose left.

Yeah the Santas definately seemed creepier last year. The whole lack of movement thing was a little unrealistic, considering she's meant to be a spider, but it was still quite impressive considering they didn't use CGI. As for the snow, it's a Christmas special. They have a contractual obligation with these things to either have miraculous snow or for someone realise the true meaning of Christmas.
