we combine bands for ours every year, and every year we do 'Sleigh Ride' but we're gonna jazz it up and do something fun with it (FINALLY IN ALL MY YEARS OF PLAYING THIS STUPID SONG AUGH!! i've played it for...5 now...2 of them in middle school, i'm a junior), so its that, then we're playing 'Festival of Hanukka' (sp?), 'Fantasy on A bell Carol' (kickass song right there but sooo short ;- wink , 'Russian christmas' (or w/e, something russian, its by alfred reed so you KNOW its awesome), 'great king winseslas' (i hope i spelt that right, haha) but yeah, its all good. and then our percussion does something, and then our jazz band plays, and then the colorguard does a cool little routine or w/e so yeah, our christmas concerts are really fun. They usually last from an 1 to about 1 1/2 -2 hrs. 2hours being the latest but yeah, ours is this Thursday. biggrin woopee~

Our concert owned. I'm in the top band (Wind Ensemble) and we played Shepherd's Hey, October, and Hounds of Spring. We nailed each piece and left the audience and our lower bands in awe.

Mine's not till Monday.
My band (Concert Band) is going to play Caprice and Balladair, with our BD.
Then, we play Christmas Time with the composer himself, Jan van der Roost!
Very exciting!

Our holiday concert was on Monday. I'm in symphonic band (the middle band of 3) and we played Up On The Housetop, Pat-A-Pan, and Christmas Celebration. Easy music, but the BD for symphonic band directed concert (the lowest band) for years before the new concert BD started teaching so we think he's still trying to adjust to a group that can actually PLAY. sweatdrop
The band boosters sold roses and boutoniers and played part of the senior slideshow between bands, so there was some crying and laughing (especially when the curtain wouldn't close all the way between concert and symphonic's performances and the parents finally got to see the chaos that goes on during the tear-down and set-up between bands xd ).
The concert was... okay. Emotional and riddled with technical difficulties, but generally okay. biggrin
