And at this he bursts into laughter. "Sorry, sorry, it's not you, I swear..." After regaining control of himself... "I have six. Two sisters, four brothers." He snuggles in close to her.

"Wow..." Thana whispered, her eyes wide. She murred softly as Marmaduke snuggled closer, then sighed happily, continuing the conversation.
"I've only got two brothers, though Lenta wants another girl, and then she'd be happy."

He smiles as she murrs. He loves it when she does that. "Yeah...you get used to it. I think Mom's done with little ones for a while...I think she's gonna wait until all of us are grown up and moved away or something."

"I don't blame her!" Thana laughed, wrapping her tail around Marmaduke's. "Lenta's got her hands full with Linnith, Ksani and I... Nine... Wow."

"Jenny and Benny don't really count. They stay here with Dalia and Tippin. But really, I don't know how she does it." He twines his tail with hers.

"Maybe she's used to it, or maybe she enjoys having so many that it's worth the effort." Thana shrugged. "I know Lenta's got a lot of pets, but she's also got a lot of help from people like Jek and Mauli and Moo..." This was the first normal conversation she had been in for weeks, and she was thoroughly enjoying it.

He softly sets his head on top of hers and murmurs instead of talks now, his deep voice resonating in his chest. "I think she's fine. Durin and Olga help out with the smaller Floppis now." He hums for a while.

Thana closes her eyes, listening to Marmaduke hum. Her breathing slows, until it is almost nonexistent, though not by her own doing. His humming, and the deep murmur of his voice... Those things seemed to almost rock her to sleep, and she relished every moment of it. This was all she had ever wanted, really. Someone who would sit quietly with her, and wouldn't worry if she stopped talking. Someone who would return the soft love she gave and not bother to be haughty about it. Someone who knew how her mind worked, since his worked the same way. Marmaduke fit all these things, and she was glad - no, estatic - that they had found each other.

His breathing slows to match hers. Their hearts seemed to beat as one. Wow...she's completely amazing. One of the only people who understands my lack of speech. I can really talk to Thana, which is a big deal for me...

Thana sighed softly, then nuzzled Marmaduke's chin, settling down once more to enjoy the soft thump of his heartbeat against her side.
"I love you, Marmaduke..." She whispered, squeezing his tail lightly with hers.

Alright, new day. This sort of died, which is sad because they're so cute together...
Marmaduke wanders into the centre, away from his smaller siblings who had been gorging themselves on Halloween goodies all day.
