Narayan paused, peering forewords. Scratching at the side of his lip with his nose, he looked over at Arith again. Well, the boy was covered in fur... so maybe it was a biased thing. "I know. She bit different from you, yeah? I think she really pretty but she not beautiful."

She was missing the nose, for one. No woman could be the epitome of beauty without a nose like his.

"Sn't your ma or aunt like that, though? Well, kinda like. My aunt not as skinny... none of them are." it was a bit sad. It would have been nice to have one of these women as an aunt...

"Da don't like me showing people these photos. Says its not good and rude and stuff." actually. He said a lot more stuff... except Narayan was having trouble remembering half the words.

Arith nodded."Yeah, she pretty, but not beautiful."He thought she woulda looked better with fur, to him the lady looked 'naked', like a dog shaved of fur.

His ears twitched adn he glanced over at Narayan."My mom, she gots fur, but she not like that."His ear flicked torwards the picture. He blinked and looked back at the magazine."Rude? How it rude?"He was a bit cnofused again. How could showing someone a picture be rude?

Narayan grinned. They had something in common, then! The typical magazine models weren't enough for either of them to consider the woman to be beautiful. "Your Ma has fur?"

None of his aunts did. COOOL! So did she look like him? Curious now to see what someone with fur would look like (he'd seen some. But not someone's MA. That made things entirely different), he continued to study the photo.

Fur. Huh. He wondered if furry women would wear bikinis like this too. In fact, wouldn't it be funny if it was patterned, in such a way to complement their fur? Oooh. Like Arith would wear black and white swimming trunks!

"I dunno." his ears drooped slightly as he answered. "My Da can be strange at times." he said, sadly.

Adults. pah!

Arith nodded."Yup, my mom, she got fur like me, and a tail, and ears kind alike mine too."His ears twtiched at the past part, and again as Narayan's ears drooped."Sounds like it, gettin in trouble for showing pictures to people.Thats just silly."He snorted, adults could be so weird.

Narayan was about to let out a happy little trumpet, because he had found someone who thought like him! But he remembered just in time that they were in the library and thus, maybe it wasn't such a good idea.

"You're smart." he said, informing the little boy that since they worked on similar brain lengths, they both must be very smart. Staring at the ear twitching, Narayan twitched his own.

"Lucky. All my family look like this." he pointed to the picture. "Kinda. They don't got fur, or tails or ears or anything cool." especially not a nose. Frowning at the oddity of this, he shrugged.

"But they okay. 'cept when they wierd."

Arith looked up and blinked at the compliment, ears twitcihng slightly. He was?Yeah, maybe he was, and if he was this kid must be too.I mean, they were thinkin the same, no?"Thanks, you are too."He grinned, chuckling slightly as Nawayan twitched him ears.

He turned back to the picture."Really?"He glanced at Narayan then back at the picture, wondering if his mom would be different if she didn't have fur.

Narayan nodded, and he was about to get more into the conversation too.(how come no one had told him that the library was an okay cool place after all? There were boys in here who thought the same way as him! Boys!)

"Narayan?"

The voice was quiet. Modulated, and came from far away, enough so that Narayan was half tempted to ignore it.

"Narayan."

There it was again. Dammit.

His nose twitched in irritation as he stared at Arith. "Tha my da'." he said, a sulky note creeping into his voice.

That man interrupted all the good things. He stared at the magazine, knowing he'd get in trouble if he was caught with it again- especially with it being so soon after his last trouble making incident.

"I have to go yeah, soon. You know."

Arith's ears gave a light switch at the voice and he looked up at Narayan."Gotta go?So soon?"He was a bit dissapointed, he had just met a cool new friend at the boy was having to leave soon.Parents always seemed to know the worst times to butt in, it was like weird 6th sense.

He stood up, making sure not to forget the book Narayan had given him."Should we put the magazine away?"He glanced over at the shelf, now kinda wondering why it was s high, it seemed silly.
