Watching Ayatas lift the basket he looked at the little back and yellow foal that peeked out. She was a lovely little girl and hopefully she'd be as well mannered as the green one who came by.
Bright blue eyes looked up at the woman who lifted the basket lid before she scrambled out of the basket. Her legs weren't completely stable under her but she managed to stumble until she bumped into the other twolegger.

She chuckled softly as the first filly stumbled towards Tsisqua. That she was able to walk was a good sign. "Now... To check on the other one." She turned, carefully lifting the darker of the two lids. Her hand was met by a pale muzzle that nosed her flesh, nuzzling curiously as she too stood on wobbly legs.
"Look, Tsisqua. Two beautifully healthy fillies. Perhaps winter will not be so long or harsh... The Great Spirits have already seen fit to gift us with life." She nodded slowly, flashing a smile at her friend.

He reached down and patted the small black foal on the nose. It was surprising that they'd been born in winter and when it was so cold but at least them being alive was a good sign.
"That is a good sign. Perhaps the Great Spirits do have something in mind with this cold"
Great Spirit? Cold? Twisting around until she was leaned up against Tsisqua she looked back toward her sister. Nickering she leaned her head out to the other.

So that was what her sister looked like. Did her own legs look that funny too? She looked down, sticking her head between her knees and nearly tumbling over as she did so. Yes... Yes her legs did look just as funny as her sisters right down to the knobby, wobbly knees.
"We will have to watch them closely over the days to come. The Great Spirit will guide us to thei names." She nodded slowly and then, realizing what she had implied in saying 'we', she felt her cheeks flushing. "You will have to watch them closely."

"I would welcome your help in raising them" He smiled at her as he pulled his hand back just in time for the little black one to miss nipping his fingers. "Two would be a handful for any man."
She whinnied as her sister almost fell over. Standing wasn't easy yet and so trying to look at standing couldn't be a good idea. She wiggled around slightly and wobbled up so she could stand on her own without leaning on Tsisqua.

"I bet they are hungry. Legend speaks of these baskets holding enough food to last them until they are strong enough to emerge on their own." She nodded slowly as she reached out to carefully steady the checkered filly. "... Perhaps I should return to my teepee to gather my things. It is not so cold this morning that I can not take everything down and bring it here."
Her hindquarters gave a little waggle before she took a step forward, instantly falling to her knees. Her eyes went wide and she look around. Walking... It was definately going to take some getting used to.

"I have enough dried apples to feed them for the moment." He watched the two foals. "Be careful. The cold will have brought out hunters looking for a quick meal." He knew there were probably coyotes around looking for creatures that hadn't survived the night.
She tripped forward enough that she could nudge her sister with her nose. Maybe if they tried together they'd get the hang of it.

"I have grains back at my teepee that will make a good mash for them." She nodded slowly as she stood, carefully running her fingertips over the checkered filly's ear. "Gata'utana will keep me safe." A soft smile was flashed to Tsisqua and she slipped away. Outside she could be heard talking to the fiery stallion, letting him know that she would give him a good brushing later as long as he was willing to help her bring her things back to Tsisqua's. He didn't seem to understand her but whatever she said had sounded nice enough, so he followed.
Once nudged she tumbled to the ground again and, while there, she realized something. She was... Tired. All of that fussing with the basket and now, all of this trying to walk? It was hard stuff. She whickered softly, remaining where she was on the teepee floor.

As the black filly dropped down beside her sister he reached over them and pulled a soft blanket over their backs. They must have been tired after all the excitement and the cold.
She shuffled around under the blanket until only her nose was sticking out. That was better.

She took in as deep a breath as her tiny lungs could, letting it out in a soft huff before leaning her head against her sister's shoulder. She wasn't moving from this spot ever... Alright, so she'd probably move once she woke up... But that would be quite some time from now... After... Sleeeeeeeep.
