Kaleb paled a bit, and gave the glass in his hands an almost frightened look. He hastily channeled a bit of magical energy, weaving it into an invisible shield to test his ability before sighing with relief. He knew alcohol messed with his ability to control his magic, and he wouldn't be able to get home on his own if he couldn't use his magic.
"I-I really sh-shouldn't drink this..." He stuttered quietly.

"Aww it's not that bad. Nothing that will kill you." He nudged Kaleb's cheek with his muzzle. "Just got a little bite to it"

Kaleb shook his head quickly, and blushed brightly at Reno's touch. He could only imagine what the women thought of him now. "N-no, I-I really shouldn't, it will make it difficult for me to use my magic," he said really quietly, fidgeting more than a little.

"It will wear off before you have to go. Just drink it." He wiggled his own half empty glass. "It's tasty"

Kaleb nodded a bit, although he still wasn't sure he should drink any more of it. He fidgeted until another glittering decoration caught his eye. Once distracted he took another sip of his drink, and then looked down at it with an almost startled expression once he realized what he just did.

He patted Kaleb on the shoulder. "See, you want to drink it." Looking around he spotted Rude though the crowd. "Don't let Tseng talk you into anything bad." Ruffling Kaleb's hair he headed toward his partner.
He shook his head and looked back at Kaleb. "One of these days Rufus is going to ban him from these parties"

Kaleb blushed and ineffectually tried to fix his hair a bit as Reno left. "H-he really confuses me," the mage admitted to Tseng as he looked back down at his drink. "I-I never know what he means."

"There are days when none of us know what he means." He looked toward the others. Reno was leaning on Rufus, who was looking rather displeased with Reno on him, and waving his glass around as he spoke to someone.
"That's why we don't generally ask"

Kaleb huffed a bit. "It's irritating sometimes, I feel like I'm missing something." He took another sip of his drink, just a small one, and sighed deeply.

"Don't worry about it." He smiled at Kaleb slightly. "I doubt anything you are missing is important"

Kaleb smiled up at him in return, feeling a bit better. "I-I'll try not to worry about it." He glanced through the crowd again, not really liking the way it made him feel so small. "Do all these people work here?" He asked hesitantly.

"Most of them. They are allowed to bring spouses or a guest so some people here don't nessicarly work here." Then again anyone without a badge into the building got a through check before being allowed in.

Kaleb was amazed but he wasn't really surprised, it was a large company. "I've never been to a Christmas party with this many people," he said with another smile.

Kaleb blinked and looked over at the crowd again, wondering how full the place would be if everyone showed up. He decided he was better off not knowing. "I-I am thankful," he said, eyeing the crowd as it was and taking an unknowing step closer to Tseng.
