Shenzi gave a snort of derision, tallying up those who'd been here for so long. Chana, Awen, Chubbs, and now Stewart. "Not much worth mentioning, to me at least. What d'you wanna know?" She asked, crossing her arms across her chest, balanced with more of her weight on one foot and one hip upraised slightly, a bemused look on her face.

"Stuff," He mumbeled, he couldn't tell her what he really wanted to know: whether or not people still remembered what he did. He had already the dirty details of his past slip once, and he didn't plan on letting it happen again. This girl seemed nice, and he didn't want her to think of him like the people back home did. Trying to quickly come up with another reason he quickly said "I was wondering if any more drastic events had occured. You know, like what happened on 9/11" It was the best thing he could come up with, and he could only hope that she believed him.

Shenzi frowned, thinking back. "Well, they caught the guy that planned it, he's dead now I think. They were talking about hanging him or some s**t, and I think he kicked the bucket recently. Some bombings in London, and Bush sent guys over to Iraq. Can't remember anything really important in the past year that happened in the States." She finished with an apologetic look.

"Oh really?" Stewart said nodding "That's good to hear, er- I didn't mean that the violence was good. What I ment was that 'm just glad that there wern't any more attacks on the States. and don't worry that you can't remember anything else. I'm just lucky to be getting any news at all" Thank God, he though she believed him, it was a horrible thought. But he coudn't help himself, he was entitled to his secerts too...right?

Shenzi actually had noticed a brief moment of awkwardness from the priest, but figured it was probably the goat fur up his a**. So, she deigned not to comment.
"So where're you from, Tatka Stewart?" She asked. That was something she hadn't asked anyone yet... Well, that Gallen fellow had said something, she couldn't remember where though. Piffle on her for her shitty memory in anything but music.

"Well, it's not too exciting. But I'm from Boston. Boston, Massachusetts." He said hoping she was from the States, she didn't have an accent now. Was she an immigrant? Not that it really mattered to him, but he was horrible with geography and didn't want to have to explain where Massachusetts was. "Are you from anywhere interesting?" He then added curious as to where she was from.

"New York, New York." She said proudly, a broad grin on her face. "City kid since I was born, but my mom's from the Czech Republic." Massachusetts, huh? Was he a Kerry for president supporter, then? Not that she particularly cared about politics or anything.

"Really? I would of never guessed that you were a New Yorker." Stewart started, slightly amused that he had finally found another New Englander on the Island. "I've been to New York a couple of times myself, and got lost evertime too. Guess I'm just too used to how Boston is, every other city now seems to complicated." He chuckeled at the irony of what he just said before adding "So you're Czech? I don't think I've ever met someone from that country before."

She grinned, giving a courtly bow, laughing under her breath. "Uh-huh. Born and raised." Shenzi stood up again, a gleam of laughter still in her eyes. "Boston, hm? I went there once a little while back for a concert, but havn't been there since."
"Yup. Half Czech, half American. And Fatka means Father." She added with a grin.

"Oh, so that's what it means. Are you fluent in Czech?" He asked, sure he wouldn't understand a thing she said in Czech. But curiosity was getting the better of him and he had to know.

She nodded, a smile of pride taking over her face. "Mm-hm. Bilingual in Czech and English." Shenzi grinned again. "Comes in handy when I want to insult an English speaker."

"I bet it's great to use with those horrible drivers in New York City!" He said chuckling "I wish I was bilingual sometimes, but I have enough trouble with English sometimes that there's no chance of me ever learning a second language."
