Donny's wings curved and extended out, pushing the snow that had begun to bury the two outward, before flinging the remaining fluffs in Frey's direction. The pegasi bucked at the onslaught, and Donny sat up, shaking furiously. He could feel the cold begin to seep in; it was getting too cold!
"Ha ha ha, you've had your fun, that's enough!" Donny hollered at the beast, which reared slightly and snickered, before bending his neck and grooming snow off his fur with his teeth. Donny helped Chai up, practically scooping her out before brushing her free of excessive snow. "Let's go inside Chai, we're all wet now, and I hate getting sick." He took her hand and led her back to the shops, intent on finding the warmest, coziest one and settling down somewhere in it to warm and dry.

Chailyn followed Donny, the cold finding it's way into her coat. She shivered, moving to walk closer and looking back at Frey. "Will he be ok out here in the cold?" she motioned at the pegasi, almost asking him if he'd follow. She doubted most shops allowed them to come inside but it was too cold to leave him out here even if he was an animal.
"Do you know where we can go?" Chai asked. She knew the shop her mother was in was far too crowded. Not that Donny couldn't catch their attention but she was sure she'd end up lost in the shuffle of some many people gazing at him.

"No, but any store will do." Donny started walking towards the nearest one, which happened to be a rather unpopulated coffee shop, and led Chai inside. Frey hovered outside of the shop, whose glass wall offered him a clear view of the view as they tried to scamper onto the stools.
Donny reached over to pick Chailyn up, giving her a hug before setting her down on a stool facing the window-wall. He then proceeded to attempt to climb up onto his own stool, with much difficulty. He finally slid onto it, and gave Frey a quick look. He felt a little sorry for his steed, but he was warm now, so it was hard to care.
"How long did your mom say she was going to shop for?" Donny asked quietly, eyeing the sugar packets on the counter. Mmmmm, sugar.

Donny helped Chailyn up onto a stool and she looked towards the window. She pondered for a moment, "She was trying to get the last few gifts. I think she said it'd only take us an hour hopefully. It's hard to tell with all the people though," she shrugged. She didn't really like the crowds of people in shops, it made it so hard to find something she felt was good enough for her friends.
"How's Vidya, your mommy, and your daddy?" Chai asked. She blushed feeling silly for not asking sooner.

"They're okay. Viddy's been acting a little funny lately, but she's always a little funny I guess." His eye caught movement and he stopped there, turning to face a woman who had come towards them. She had a pencil in her ear, which she pulled out and placed on a pad.
"What'll it be, short stuffs?"
He hadn't realized that someone would expect them to buy something in the shop, but he had some money, he was sure. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out three crumpled dollars, some change, and a bunch of feathers.
"Uhm.. want something to drink Chai? I think I have enough for that!"

Did she want something to drink? She tilted her head thinking. It would be nice to have hot chocolate, wouldn't it? It was cold out after all. She thought silently for a moment before looking at Donny. "We could share some hot chocolate?" she asked. It almost seemed like she was asking him if she was good enough to share with.
She gave a smile looking up at the woman. She felt like she should say something more but had no clue what. Her mother always asked how much things were, but she didn't really know what that meant.

Chai was so good at not only picking out just the perfect thing to have on a day such as this, but also managing to make it seem like sharing a drink was something one did with close friends, and not something one did when one was broke. This soothed Donny's fragile ego for not having enough money to buy her a whole row of hot chocolates if she had wanted them; a mistake he would never make again. He smiled affectionately and nodded.
"One hot chocolate please, with lots and lots of whipped cream. If that's okay with you, Chaichai. Do you like whipped cream?" He adored the stuff, so rich and sinful and fluffy and sinful. Did he mention sinful? He once went at a can of the stuff like a tiger in heat, spraying directly into his mouth until there was a large pointed tuft within his view. Over and over, and soon the can had been finished, and what a stomachache he had had that day. But no matter! No one here would be foolish enough to give him an entire can. Right?
He looked at how much hot chocolate cost on the little paper menu that sat on the desk, and thought for a second. "We have enough for a cookie too. Want to split one?"

Chailyn felt confidence that Donny agreed with sharing a hot chocolate. She beamed and then nodded. "Whipped cream is delicious!" she giggled. She'd only had it once or twice on ice cream or a piece of pie but who didn't like it? It was like eating fluffly clouds.
"What kind of cookies do you like Donny?" she asked. A cookie would be nice but since she had chosen the drink, she thought he should choose the type of cookie. It was only fair on her part.

Leaving the choice up to him? A wise decision. "Oh, if it were up to me I would choose peanut butter. That's my favorite. Are you okay with peanut butter? We can have chocolate chip instead if you want."
The waitress, having left the two after they had decided on whipped cream slathered hot chocolate, was already done making the hot chocolate while they were still debating on a cookie. She wasn't about to fuss over an order this tiny, so she plopped a bunch of whipped cream on the top, and brought the can over. Placing the cup, can, and two straws in front of them, she smiled a tight smile. "Did I hear something about a cookie? They're fresh, baked just now, piping hot."

She couldn't remember ever having a peanut butter cookie. She'd had a lot of peanut butter sandwiches though and if she liked those, she was sure she'd like a peanut butter cookie. She nodded her head, determined that Donny got to choose the cookie. If she hadn't been so young she might've made a great diplomat.
"Peanut butter sounds good, Donny." She smiled taking one of the straws and dipping it in the hot chocolate, trying hard not to take the first lick of whipped cream.

Donny grinned brightly. "Yes, I'd like a peanut butter cookie too please." He responded to the waitress. She tried not to laugh at the 'big spender', and nodded. It took her only a minute to walk over, open the holder and pull out a warm cookie. She placed it on a napkin, and then on a plate, and brought it over to the two. Placing it in front of them both, she gave them a sweet smile.
"You guys enjoy." With that she let them be, moving to help other customers.
Donny took the cookie, enjoying the warmth of it as it warmed his cold fingers. He broke it in half roughly, and pushed the bigger half near Chai's side. "I love peanut butter anything." He admitted, picking off a piece of his side and putting it in his mouth with a giggle.

Chailyn picked up her half of the cookie, tearing off a small piece and putting it in her mouth. She chewed on it carefully, trying to decide if she liked it. She let out a laugh, it was good! Then again of course it would be, Donny was smart and would only pick the best cookie.
"It's delicious!" she grinned. She probably could've inhaled the cookie if she'd wanted to, but instead she nibbled at it. Her mind returning to realize that she should go find her mother soon. She might be getting worried- if she wasn't still stuck inside a shop.

Donny was only too happy to be informed that he had made a fine choice in snack. He took a big bite of his piece, then another, and when he went to take a third he came to the realization that he had finished it. So he brushed the crumbs off his fingers and took a sip of the hot chocolate to wash it down. It felt so good as it went down, warming him right to the core. He took another sip and put the cup down, to let Chai have some. He was not aware that he now had a big whipped cream mustache, so he smiled obliviously.
"I'm glad you like it! My sister makes the best peanut butter cookies ever, if she ever makes some I'll have to make sure you get some." He nodded fervently; sharing is caring after all.

Chailyn finished her cookie not too long after Donny had. She smiled, drink some hot cocoa before turning to him. A giggle escaped and she clapped her hand over her mouth. Her purple eyes even seemed to laugh as she looked at him.
"Donny, you've got whipped cream on your lip!" she blurted out, though somewhat softly. She tried not to giggle but couldn't help it. It looked so silly on him, like he was trying to be Santa Claus but had forgotten a beard.

Donny's smile dropped instantly when she started laughing, and he cocked a brow. What joke had he missed? He blinked when she told him, and his tongue stuck out as he tried to lick it off, but he got the feeling that it wouldn't help the situation. Instead, he got a napkin instead and wiped his mouth thoroughly. After the initial embarassment wore off, he giggled nervously.
"Sorry. It's just so good." He admitted, feigning shyness. "Have some more," He urged her, nudging the cup her way. He knew that he'd feel awful if he ended up taking a big sip and left none for her, which was likely to happen the way he drank, so he wanted to make sure she got as much as she wanted first.
