Jett nodded slowly, considering things as he finished what he'd been making. The little dove was still paying attention to them, even though she was trying to pretend she wasn't. Altessa was considering. "I see," he finally remarked, "and thank you," he added to the last.
Glancing at Altessa, the boy offered her the web necklace-- it wasn't sticky any longer, instead resembling delicate, lacy skulls. "For you," he smiled slightly.

Slightly shocked, Altessa bowed her head slightly, closing her eyes as she replied in a rather soft voice. "I appreciate the gesture." She'd allow the other to put it on, if he so wished.
It was rare for Altessa to trust another, but it seemed that Jett was one of the few that had earned her trust.

That was nice of the boy, Alora remarked to herself, admiring the details he had put in the web necklace, and wondering how he could do that. To produce the stuff and to weave it in that manner. Hmmm...perhaps he was just good with his hands. Perhaps she had to research up on the animal he was and how they did that.
And he seemed to have subdued the scaly girl with his gesture. A smile came over her face. It was always nice when people could be friends, instead of fighting with each other. It sickened the girl to watch the news and see reports of murders of some people. Why couldn't all people get along?

Smiling slightly, Jett moved to fasten the necklace around Altessa's neck. The skulls suited her-- skulls were seen as dangerous or symbols of such or something, which reminded Jett of the girl.
It could be misinterpreted that Jett was showing affection-- but it was simply... a gesture, really? He had met Altessa three times now-- though that visit to see the eggs didn't necessarily count-- and being that he'd met her so many times and each time she'd presented an interesting characteristic (more often than not more than one), Jett felt the need to recognize that individuality.
Had Jett thought of the possible misinterpretations, he might have been more careful about giving the gift in front of the dove, but... the spider boy was straightforward for the most part, if a bit off. "...it suits you."

Altessa had to admit that it was rather pleasant to be treated this way; like her, Jett was unique, and Altessa wished that she could give him some sort of gift in return for... for what, exactly? Altessa didn't really know, but brought the book up again and thumbed through it, finally spotting the skull candies that were pink and white, and looked rather delectable, really.
"Hmmmm." She breathed, eyes keen on the page. It took a lot of ingredients, but was it really worth making?

Alora was just a toddler, it wasn't as if she would misintepret it as both of them were well, a pair. And besides her mother was single. But in her own way, she approved.

Considering the page Altessa seemed to be looking at, Jett nodded slightly to himself. They would be something he would think of Altessa with, those candies. "Are those the ones you plan to make?" Jett asked quietly after a moment. It would fit. That would make sense.
But a long list usually meant complications, and complications arising meant difficulties... but that was all right. Altessa was resourceful. She'd work through it.

"Yes." Altessa murmured brightly, finger raising to chew on. "Though it's going to be hard to get the ingredients..." She spoke around her thumb, thinking out loud to herself. "One of the things it calls for isn't sold around here... hnn. Difficult. But not impossible." Raising her head and closing the book with a snap, Altessa put it back on the shelf and glanced over to the bird girl, blinking curiously. She was still there...?

"Alora?"
Upon hearing her name called, the girl turned away from the other two and headed towards her mother. "I'm...done." She replied, holding the books out to Melody who smiled and took it to the cashier.
The dove took a brief glance backwards before exiting the bookstore, wondering if she would meet them again.
