SaberFireTiger I am really hoping that Lexana will make it. I believe that even the evilest person in the world can be compassionate and loving towards someone. Lexana was my proof! I still believe in them. Well, then you are Ignorant(no offense). Lana's goal is to use power and money for good lol....Lex is using is money to experiment people...Thier interests are completly not compadable...

He's evil, corrupt and a liar... xp muhaha twisted yes he is and that is why lexana must die...... burning_eyes @zach> you've gotten to the root of the problems but lana can still believe in them if she wants too whee everyone has a right to have their own beliefs.....i'm saying this because i went throught this whole ordeal with clana sweatdrop but clana is different from lexana stare ..................... the future is bright for clana (hopefully), and i'm not saying anything for lexana....my views about them have already been made clear xd

I don't think I'm ignorant for thinking everyone is entitled someone to love in life. Some might not deserve it but they are entitled to have love.
And actually, Lana is okay with the experiment thing. She said that if 33.1 did exist, she would understand why because they were dangerous and have hurt the people she cared about. Lana isn't exactly the persona of pure-hearted good either. No one is. Everyone has an dark side and every now and then they are let out.
Why is Lex experimenting on people? He wants to ultimately help others by finding out their abnomalities. Sure that isn't what it truly is and it is terribly wrong but he doesn't think so. He thinks he is doing what is necessary for the future.

No I see what you are saying. You think I'm ignorant for thinking even evil people are entitled to have love. You think that they don't deserve it cause they have been bad people. But, if they have found someone that means that that person has accepted that part of them and isn't it up to the person who is in love with them's choice whether they should be loved or not. When it comes to this sort of issue, no one cares about third party perpective, that it is wrong or right. Everyone one is entitled to love and a second chance just like I am entitled to my opinion. I don't think I should be called ignorant of that and I could care less of what you think of me cause there are a lot of different views on things and calling people ignorant because they might not have the same point of view is in my eyes, ignorant.
Now that I am practically initiated war with this post, I am very sorry and apologize for wasting space like this to defend myself.
A lot of people are saying this episode was very boring and pointless. I not sure it was that but it isn't all that rememberable compared to other episodes in this season.

The fact that Lana is slowly succumbing to the darker side of her nature—“I realized that having money means having power”—startled me slightly, but makes sense: becoming a part of Lex’s life means having to deal with all the additional aspects of a billionaire’s lifestyle.
It’s also ironic because Lana set out to save Lex from his own demons but is instead losing to her own inner devil. Me likey. mrgreen
But as for the point raised earlier about Lex experimenting on the meteor freaks (MFs) to learn more about them, which would lead to the defense of humanity against this new “super-race”—although it’s quite a small super-race, confined to Smallville really—being a good thing… It isn’t.
In this case, the end does not justify the means.
Lex and Lana are aware that on Black Thursday/Tuesday (can’t remember the exact day ^^) something extraordinary, something of apocalyptic proportions, took place on earth. An event that nearly succeeded in engulfing the world in darkness and reverting it to an age of instinctual survivors, where money has no meaning and where brute strength and cunning is law.
They (Lex and Lana) understand that something foreign was the cause of this, concluding that it was aliens (the black ship, anyone?).
But to experiment on the MFs, to mercilessly expose them to radical treatments, to dehumanize them… How do these actions separate Lex from that of the invaders? Cold hearted, merciless, looking for their own respective agendas to come to fruit. Two sides of the same coin.
I’m not complaining mind you; I loved evil Lex. I’m just wondering if Lex realizes that he isn’t mankind’s saviour but could be the one who sends it on another trip through hell. One that humanity might not recover from…

Lana, step into Lex’s world, a place where right and wrong are synonymous but have no meaning when compared with getting what you want at all costs.

We know how rough of a childhood Lex has had, what with having a father who is legendary in the world in business, a ruthless man who knows nothing of mercy and has brutally and willfully battered his son, all in order to “make him stronger. To become a real Luthor”.
Lex has grown up in a world where he has had to fight for what he needs—not in the sense that he has had to go out on streets as a homeless man/women must, but as a young man who has had to face the legacy of a cold father and the cruel tactics of enemies.
But there is this thing called free will, a wonderful little gift that grants humans the power to turn away from evil acts, from any lifestyle that shackles us down in hatred and bitterness. Lex is no exception.
One could argue that his childhood and upbringing were so radical—the death of a mother and brother; affected by meteor showers; constantly being pushed and prodded by his father, forced to stay on guard in order to counter any of his opponent’s moves—has left Lex no choice but to become the villain of this sad little story (and Smallville is a sad story. And I don’t mean that as a good thing either. stare Although this eppy was an exception. ^^ )
But if Lex is as strong as he has been made to appear, then he should have been able to rebel against that dark destiny. And he has. He’s been a “good guy” from time to time, but those brief periods of sanity have always ended with Lex being forced to drink of the cup of his hard life. Every swallow, and the young business man has been steadily filled with a twisted nature.
What if those times of sanity, of when Lex was good, were in fact, insanity?
What I mean is that no matter what, Lex has returned as an evil person. He has accepted his role in life not because of his childhood—although that plays an important part—but because he wants it.
He wants the strife, the battles, the thrill of being on top. He enjoys the power that comes from being the sole rock that stands against the flow of ordinary, average life.
That is what I think makes Lex a threat. Not the money, not any powers he may have gained, or the veneer that we see.
Lex is evil because he chose it, willingly.
And it makes you wonder: what kind of a human being does it take for them to usher on the arrival of darkness? What essential part was left out when Lex was being made?
