Thanks for telling me that, beach.
Recently finished: Peter and the Shadow Thieves Currently reading: Child X
Peter and the Shadow Thieves was just as awesome as I had expected, and even more so, in a way. I think I like it equally as much as the first one, and I feel that the authors have left room for a third book, concerning a few matters, so I hope that they plan to come out with another book.
Child X...I can't remember if I've read this before, but if I have, it was so long ago that I can't remember anything in the book. I'm not that far into it, but it's pretty good so far.
Edit (12/17/06; 1:43 a.m.) Currently reading: Child X, by Lee Weatherly; Running Out of Time, by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Picked this up for no particular reason (today, at least; I took it out from the library after reading someone's comments about it in this guild), and I'm halfway through it already. It's an awesome book.
Double edit: Recently finished: Running Out of Time, by Margaret Peterson Haddix Currently reading: Child X, by Lee Weatherly; Phantom of the Opera, by Gaston Leroux; Among the Free, by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Finished Running Out of Time a few hours after saying that I was in the middle of it. It was a great book, but I didn't really like the ending.
As for the two new books added to my 'currently reading' list, I haven't really started them yet, but they're in my bag and I have no doubt I'll start reading them in the car today. I expect good things from both of them.
Triple edit(!)(12/18/06): Recently finished: Child X, by Lee Weatherly Currently reading: Among the Free, by Margaret Peterson Haddix
I really liked Child X, all the way through. It's a neat book.
Haven't gotten all that far in Among the Free (been too busy playing my Gameboy~)

Recently Finished: The Stranger Recently Finished: Metamorphoses Recently Finished: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance Reading: The Plague Up and Coming: The Oedipus Cycle - Sophocles, Crime and Punishment - F. Doestoevsky (sp?)
The Stranger was an amazing read, and a fairly short and easy read, too. Albert Camus' style is very attention-capturing. Once I started reading it I didn't stop until I finished, less of eating dinner.
Metamorphoses is probably on my top 10 list of books. I love episodic writing, plus, I have an avid interest in mythology, so, it fits both. Now that I've finished Metamorphoses I plan on picking up Hesiod's Theogony so I can see where the Roman mythology really comes from...
Zen is a very interesting book. I probably didn't get the full power of the book because of a major pause in reading it that followed with forgetting several major things. However, I feel I still gained something out of the book. It's very insightful, though somewhat challenging to several established school's of though. Then again, that's essentially the point of the book.

Im reading the seeker right now. Im probaly going to kill myself though if I finish it before the holidays end because the third book is in the school library. I guess I'll have to read my own books.
Before the seeker I read the watcher, first book of the series, and before that I don't know.

Recently finished: Among the Free, by Margaret Peterson Haddix Currently reading: Winds of Fate, by Mercedes Lackey
Among the Free was a great book, and a great ending to a neat little series to read.
I've already read the series that Winds of Fate is in (it's the first book), but I like the series and haven't read them in awhile, so I picked them back up. I'm thinking about looking around for books on the same subject that are older, since I think there may be other books that follow a similar storyline.
I kind of gave up on Phantom of the Opera...I dunno...I just got bored with it, really fast.

I have started to read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It's one of the titles that I have heard so much about that I must now read it for myself. I have the movie on standby to view after I complete the novel. whee
Also I am still reading Unleashed by C.J. Barry. It's like it makes fun of multiple cliches in one book, but I am amused.

Currently reading: Winds of Fate, by Mercedes Lackey; The Series of Unfortunate Events: The End, by Lemony Snicket; Sweet Valley High: Beware the Wolfman, by Francine Pascal; Who Knew?: Things You Didn't Know About Things You Know Well, by David Hoffman (awesome little book that I got for Christmas!)
Nothing new on Winds of Fate.
Finally got around to the last book in Series of Unfortunate Events! I like it so far, though it's definitely not my favorite.
I can't remember reading the Sweet Valley book before, and I do like the series, especially the thrillers. It should be good.
As for the last book, I got it as a Christmas gift. 3nodding It's awesome! Did you know that the average Twinkie takes 45 seconds to explode in the microwave?

I just finished reading Twilight and its sequel, New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. It's going to have a few more books coming, which makes me extremly happy. I am oficially addicted. I had just started reading it when I went to Books-A-Million to find a Christmas present for my cousin. I saw the next book and decided I would what until it was in paperback. Like I said, I had just started reading it, so I didn't really understand peopl when they started raving about how good it was. And it's nearly two inches thick so I figured I wouldn't be done with it until the sequel was in paperback. Boy, was I wrong. I stayed up til 2:30 reading
The next day (Saturday), I was half way through the book and decided I didn't want to stop reading it. We went to Walmart, where, by chance, I saw New Moon. There was no question that I was going to get it, no matter how much it cost. So, that night, I stayed up til 12:30 reading and finished it on Christmas eve. I am now rereading them.
If you like vampires, suspese, and romance, you will LOVE these books. I was shocked to find a vampire book that wasn't cheesy at all.
P. S. The next book is called Eclipse.

I just finished Stone of Tears by Terry Goodkind. His Sword of Truth series is amazing. The way he writes .. oh, man, it's the first epic fantasy series I actually got addicted to! I just started Blood of the Fold; the third book. I love the fact that all his novels are huge (last one was 960+pages), and there are nine or so in the series. He's the kind of author that takes you in his grip and steals your soul! Gah! xD Stone of Tears put me through fear, hate, disgust, pain, admiration, jealousy, love, pure unadulterated feelings of torture ( .. that was more in the first book) and everything inbetween. When I was through with each book, part of me wants to dive into the next, another part of me needs to rest because it feels as if all my emotions have been wrung out of my body by hand. XD His novels also make me think. Make me wonder, and make me curious. I like that in my reading.

I'm reading The Count Of Mounte Christo and 1984 by George Orwell.
Big Brother Is Watching You.
Hehe I am in love with both and hate having to put them down. After 1984 I'm going to read The Catcher In The Rye.

I have recently finished reading Fahrenheit 451. Wow, this was an incredible book! I'm sorry that I waited so long to read it. It makes me wonder how much longer it is until the world truly becomes devoid of books like in that story... Also, what book could I possibly choose to commit to memory?
After reading this novel, I will look forward to reading more works by Ray Bradbury.

Still reading all of the books that I mentioned last time, though I'm very close to finishing The Series of Unfortunate Events .
I really just wanted to comment on Fahrenheit 451. Did you know that there are about three errors in the book? Two of them had to do with quotation marks (one error was missing a quotation mark, and the other had an extra in there, I believe), and I'm almost positive that the third was 'a' instead of 'an', or something of the sort.
*stops her comments on book errors before she gets into all the others she's noticed and quietly walks away*
