Taka chirped along and soon he took off and flew around with Asriel. "This is amazing! You know.... You are like the older brother I never had." He said as he did a flip and a few somersaults in mid-air. The wind flowing through his feathers felt great. He couldn't help but be happy.
Kaju also turned her attention to Taka and Asriel. "I wonder what happened to them. I know they were willed but why? Who or what killed them?" She said sadly. "I think we should tell them they are related, don't you think?" She said and looked back at Rain. A big pang of remembrance hit her heart. She had defiantly know this girl, but where and when? She doesn't remember. "I keep getting this feeling I know you from somewhere." She said without thinking.

Asriel looped and spiraled in the air, loving the feeling of the sun on his back. He let out a happy chirp, only to have it returned with a dark cloud passing over the sun. It was ominous and scary looking. In minutes, rain had begun to fall. Asriel dropped down to the ground, landing. "TAKA! Land! Storm!" he yelled up to Taka. When he turned around to look for Rain and Kaju, he saw something else. In a pit, below the cliff he stood on, was a creature. It lay on its side, with an enourmas blue wing beating the air. It was thrashing about in the mud, screeching a pained and fearful sound, swishing its tial in distress. Asriel dived down swiftly to her aid.
"Oh goodness! Its raining!" exclaimed Rain, flipping up the hood on her jacket to get her head dry. She saw Asriel go over the cliff, but he didn't come up. She watched that spot for a minute, but he didn't come back up. "I think Asriel's in trouble," she guess, running toward the cliff.

Taka screeched as a lightning bolt struck not to far from him. "WAHHH!" He said and spiraled down to hit the floor hard, the static from the shock ran through his body. Even though he never was directly struck he still got hit by extras. "OOOOooaaaaahhhh!" He screeched as his body started to twitch and he couldn't move. He eyed the blue Gryphon but he couldn't do anything.
Kaju heard Taka's screech. "OH MY GOODNESS! TAAAKKKKAAA!" She said and got up and ran over to Taka and started to sob. "Taka! Taka!" She said and tried to pick him up but he was too heavy. "Rain! Taka is hurt!" She said and sobbed, she looked around and saw Asriel with a blue Gryphon, not to far away. "Asriel is over there." She said between sobs as she pointed over to them.

Asriel too, had been hit by the lightning's discharge. His usually well preened feathers were ruffled and out of place. He was shaking violently, but was trying, desperatly, to stand. To help this new gryphon. "Oh My Asriel. Its ok, I got you," said Rain, picking him up in her arms. He was heavy, but she didn't care. Her Asriel was hurt. "There's a cave, over their in the cliff, if we can get Taka and Asriel warmed up by a fire, then we can worry about this one...." yelled Rain over the roaring storm. Pressing Asriel's limp body against herself, Rain hurried toward the cave. She made sure there were no bears or cougars in it before putting Asriel down on the dry ground. Quickly, she struck a flame, dragging branches to help it grow. Asriel moaned as he stretched out infront of the flame. "Now, you just stay here, and I'll be right back!" murmured Rain to Asriel, scratching him behind the ear before rushing out again.

Kaju huffed as she tryed to pick up Taka again. "Taka!" She said but couldnt do it. He was very heavy and Kaju wasnt very strong. "Hey, could I have help?" She yelled over the clash's of thunder and lightning and the hard pounding rain. She shivered and was getting cold but she didnt care.
Taka continued to twitch and have convulsions, his eyes were closed and his body was soaked with rain and sweat. Soon he emptied his stomach but that didnt help, he continued to have mini-seizures. He moaned in pain very loudly.

Rain rushed over to Taka. "Asriel got off lucky with a couple of scorch marks...Poor Taka looks really bad..." said Rain softly, helping Kaju to pick him up. She made sure that Kaju had his head in her arms, so she could stroke his head as Rain had with Asriel. The walk was hard, for the ground was muddy. Finally, they were in the cave, with Taka under a heavy blanket. "You watch Taka, I'll go see to the female-Hang on, where's Asriel?" muttered Rain, looking around wildly. Asriel was no where to be found. "ASRIEL!" yelled Rain, running outside. There he was, nudging the female, out in the rain. His feathers were burnt and scorched, but he didn't care. He was out with the female. "ASRIEL!" cried Rain, hurriny up. Asriel wouldn't budge. He extended one claw, pointing at a thick metal trap that was clamped around the females leg. "Kaju! I think we need to get this female in fast!"

Once Taka was put down Kaju stroked his head sobbing. "Taka, you will be okay. You will be okay." She repeated as she continued to stroke his head. She looked at Rain wattery eyed. "B-but Taka... Oh no." She saw the trap. She put Taka's head down, "Stay there." SHe said and ran over to the others. "Poor girl!" She said and started to remove the trap away from the girls leg.
Taka started to fall into a deep sleep. His back and side feathers were pure black, there was little bits of smoke comming from his fur, but it was okay. He continued to shudder and twitch. He wanted to help, but he couldnt move! His legs felt like Cement attached to the floor and already dryed. He opened his eyes and whined loudly, he wanted the female to be okay. But mostly he wanted Asriel back to him, he fle tlike there was a connection there, but he only just met him.

Asriel knew that the female would be safe. He was worried about Taka, really worried. He was torn between staying with the female or going to Taka...He chose Taka. Running back into the cave as he shook the rain off his feathers, he came to curl up right next to Taka. "You alright?" he asked, putting his wing over Taka and pulling up the blanket higher to keep him warm.
Rain worked with Kaju to get the trap off. It had a very complicated lock, but eventually they broke it. The injury was worse than they had thought. The leg was bent in a funny way, and blood was everywhere. Rain had to look away to keep from retching. "Ugh....I can't stand blood...." muttered Rain as she got underneath the gryphon to lift her up. "Kaju, you get on the otherside and we'll bring her in!" Rain yelled over the storm.

Taka shivered and he saw Asriel come over to him, he chirped happily but stopped to moan in pain. The electricity was not going well for him. "H-i..." He said quietly once he felt Asriel's large wing over his body.
Kaju took off her jacket and ripped it in half. "Wait Rain." She said and without looking away she grabbed the bloody leg and snapped it into place, it should be very painful for the animal but the Gryphon didn't even respond. "This injury is bad, the Gryphon cant even feel it when I reset her bone." She said and she started to wrap up the big girls leg really really tight. "This should help for a bit, but she needs medicine and some stuff to keep her foot from getting infected." She said and she helped Rain pick her up and they started to head back to the cave. Kaju was not a vet, but she had always wanted to be one. She can stand blood because her little brother (passed away in the story) used to hurt himself and so she had to help him. It was something she was used to seeing, so it didn't bother her as much as it should.

They settled the big gryphon next to the fire, using many many blankets and towels to clean her up. "I think I have some salve in my backpack. I kept it with my incase Asriel ever hurt himself. Here it is, Taka should use some too," said Rain, pulling out a container full of thick oozy salve. She dipped her hand in, then spread the salve on the gryphon's wounds. "Put some on Taka's burns...." she said to Kaju, then to Asriel,"Ace! Come over here, I need to put some stuff on that burn on your wing...." Asriel sidled over, yawning loudly. His wing feathers were scorched, and some where falling off. With one hand putting the salve on the female, and one putting some one Asriel, Rain worked. The cave was getting nice and warm from the fire, but the rain outside wasn't stopping anytime soon. After 20 minutes of fixing up the female, she looked nice. Rain had given her a bath with some hot water and her feathers were looking gorgeous. Her would was all cleaned up, wrapped tightly with thick bandages. A thick branch that had been cut down was beind used as splint to keep it in line.
"There, you look better already!" said Rain, stepping back.

Kaju took some of the sticky goop and rubbed it all over Taka. "Thanks Rain." She said and continued to rub away gently. She looked at the blue female. "She is beautifle, I wonder why she is out around here." She said as she looked at the brace then back at Taka.
Taka closed his eyes and started to fall alseep.

Asriel stayed near Taka the whole time, never leaving his side. He was worried about the female, but her wound would heal. Without all the mud, her case looked better. She was sleeping soundly, her beautiful wings folded neatly on her back, and he magnificent head rested on the ground. Her broken leg was tucked underneat her breast, and her tail was curled around her. To Rain, she looked like a very large cat. "Well Kaju, it's getting pretty late. I'm gonna turn in," said Rain, pulling out her sleeping bag. She sunk into the thick folds, feeling very tired. As she closed her eyes, she felt a head place itself on her chest. Rain cracked an eye open, to see Asriel, already asleep, curling up inside her sleeping bag with her. Rain grinned, stroked his head, then fell asleep.

Kaju nodded, "Goodnight Rain..." She said, that night was the first night she didn't sleep a wink. She was so worried about Taka she just couldn't sleep.
~~~Next Morning~~~
Taka groaned and opened his eyes. His feathers was singed and his head and his chest hurt. Like something stabbed right through him. It was the after affects of the side bolt of lightning. Although it was not a direct hit he still got hit with one of the little zaps that flow out of the lightning when it strikes. He moaned in pain.
Kaju's eye lids closed and opened, trying to keep herself awake. When Taka woke up she smiled and stroked his head. "Hey Taka, how are ya feeling?" She said with a deep and tired voice. Her voice was slurred and hard to understand.

Rain awoke to find a beak prodding her back. "Asriel, stop it..." she moaned into her pillow, not bothing to move. Asriel have a little cluck, his head moving infront of her own. His beak wasn't touching her, yet the prodding continued. "WAH?" she exclaimed, rolling over. Asriel chuckled, swishing his tail in a amused fashion. The hufe female loomed over Rain, her intelligent eyes looking her over carefully. Rain cringed back, clutching Asriel to her chest. She looked very scary when she stood up. She really was an enourmas animal, and as Rain thought about it, capable of ripping a little human to shreds in a second. Rain trembled. The female bent her neck, her beak an inch from Rain's face. Her eyes stared intently, searching for something in Rain's eyes. The female jerked her head, which made Rain think it was the end, and nuzzled her cheek. The purred loudly, rubbing her feathery face against Rain's. She was thanking her, thanking Rain. Rain grinned. "Looks like we got ourselves another member for our squad," giggled Rain, stroking the enourmas gryphon.

Kaju looked wearily over to them. "Really? She is beautiful. You should name her, unless she has a name. I think we should tell Taka and Asriel they are brothers..." She said and yawned loudly. And without warning she fell backwards into the dirt and instantly fell into a deep sleep.
Taka looked confused as he poked Kaju with his beak. "Kaju?" He said with a squeaky voice, now he looked sad like she was hurt. Instantly what she said clicked in his brain, he looked at Asriel curiously. "Brother?" He sounded confused at those words that escaped his beak.
