I think those dresses are a bit old for a little girl. Maybe something plainer would be better? I'd have a plain apron and a plain dress with a petticoat and puff sleeves. I think that's enough, because it doesn't stand out LOADS.. but it's still Lolita.
Would you be worried about what other people would think about the clothes? The associations they might make wouldn't be great.

If I had a son, I would definitely dress him kodona <3 Why does your fiancé say no?

NOT AT ALL!
my mom used to dress me in dresses like that all the time
cause my mom loves making clothes for kids =3
I think it's pretty normal ... and its cute too...
aren't there boutiques that sell stuff like that?
my parents used to go to this one in the U.S. to buy dresses like that for me when i was younger...
but last time i went [2 years ago -ish] the prices were quite high...
but it was VERY good quality, and it was very cute =)
the sizes fit around baby - 8 yrs

My fiancé is a hyper masculine sort of guy. He's just like that.
I definately understand what all of you mean though. I plan to start out plain and unassuming as first, until she gets comfortable with it, and then as she gets older and more accustomed and able to keep herself clean, then I'll start to introduce her to more elaborate creations.

My mother allowed my aunts to dress me, so half the time I looked like Lolli, and the other half, I looked like those slutty psuedo-Lolli's. Trauma.

I think it would be darling as long as she's not complaining about things like, "Mommy, this dress is itchy." or, "These shoes hurt, mommy!" and things like that and is enjoying herself.

Plus, it would require less fabric and less sewing because it's for someone smaller. A little more convenient, no?

Yes. I think that is a most wonderful idea. >w< Perhaps something light pink or grey at first. White would most likely become ruined quickly and black would look a little bit odd for a small child.

[] Well, most of the time, one Aunt would dress me in "sunday best" and tea-time attire,
and the other would get a hold of me and make me look like, well, you know..

I was the first grandchild,
so I was like a living baby-doll for them to torment.

As for those of you asking for pictures of my baby girl-
She hasn't been born yet! rofl []

Children in loli are always cute! whee

Right now some friends and I are planning on making a couple of sweet Lolita dresses for my friends little sister, who is 10 but looks about 8. The girl dosn't mind it, and is enjoying all of the attention. She's even going to help us make it! heart

So long as a child dosn't object to it, I see nothing wrong with dressinga child in loli. 3nodding

I enjoy the EGL style a lot,
but I'm too tall to pull it off cutely,
so it has kind of become my mission to learn how to sew
so that I can sew up pretty dresses for my daughter.
My fiance and I argue about it a bit,
but overall,
as long as I don't dress our son in kadona
(I think thats the right term, correct me if I'm wrong),
he's okay with it too.

I don't know.
Am I strange for wanting to dress my daughter like this?

( These are some of the dresses I'm learning to sew now: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 )

sounds cute i talked my husband into letting me dress up our son when we have kids. in my head i was like ha ha i win. whee
