People who tease you about being a virgin are probably only teasing you about that because it's something they feel they can tease you about. If you went off and had sex, these people would just find something else to tease you about.

Think about it...

Good point. Then they would probably make fun of you for only sleeping with one person instead of two, or not sleeping with someone with pretty enough, or whatever.

Or with having slept with someone.

Though... I suppose that's what we girls get more than boys. I remember in school, there was an awful double standard. Girls who didn't sleep around were called "cold fishes" and treated very badly for it. Girls who did sleep around were called "sluts" and "whores."

I didn't lose my virginity until I was 17. And to be honest, sex isn't that everyone makes it out to be. Sure, me and my girlfriend have fun with it. But we could also live without it. With the amount of priorities people have in life, sex shouldn't be a major one.

True, that's what I sometimes think too =/

DON'T have sex because people are pressuring to. If it's against your religious beleifes to have sex before marriage, then save it for that special someone, or don't. But do it because you want to (and because he/she wants to as well) Not because you think you should to get accepted.

I'm 16 turning 17 this February & i'm atill a virgin. My best friend is turning 21 in February & he's still a virgin. He wants to wait for that special someone which I respect. Sure I tease him for it but he knows that i'm joking around with it. 3nodding

He & I are actually in love & we want to have sex but I made an oath to myself to stay a virgin until I turn 18 & he really respects me for that.

I'm a virgin at age 15.....and everyone keeps pushing me and making fun of me because i'm a virgin. I also don't want to do it because it's something special and sort of against my religion....
I don't know what to do sad

Hey, I'm 21 and still a virgin. I know what it's like to be pressured into having sex, it gets worse as you get older because it's made into a bigger deal then what it is when you're younger (well in my experience it is)

It's up to you when and how you loose your virginity. But don't fall for their peer presure, you won't be ready for the consequences and you will feel horrible afterwards. You are best to wait for someone you love or at least trust and care about
yay! someone on gaia over 20 has morals!

My opinion is- male virginity doesnt mean much*

Nothing against priding yourself on it. I'm not, I lost mine at 17 but it was with someone very special I don't regret one bit! I'm still dating her and we still love each other very much.

But come on guys, girls have a physical virginity which can be broken, guys dont. Guys are the same before and after, just without 1 load of happy go lucky submersible baby makers!

No offense to anyone but thats the realistic logical thought:
Please feel free to believe in the religious and moral reasons cause they are you're beliefs =D

I'm just stating the fact dudes dont change much other then "Can you hit the hole in the dark backwards? - Yes Ma'am I can!"

Whoa, what? "A physcial virginity which can be broken"? You are sadly mistaken. I assume you are referring to the hymen. Many people seem to think the female body created this flap of skin to prove or disprove the female's virginity, bleed, and cause pain. None of that is true, however. Most girls break their hymen when they are still children, before they even hit puberty. It usually does not hurt or bleed, and most girls have no idea what it even happened. Most girls use a tampon or have a finger inside their v****a before they ever have sex, so even if their hymen did not break during childhood, it would break then. So there are not physical changes for either the male or the female after sex.

For more information on the hymen, feel free to read: http://www.coolnurse.com/hymen.htm

Dont listen to those people, if you dont want to do it dont do it, those people wont be there once you get a girl pregnant or what if you get aids. Just dont listen to those people!~

Many girls are the same before and after because many girls break their hymens long before they lose their virginity. For example, I broke mine when I was about seven by being kicked in the stomach. Others break them riding bikes, falling, and doing general physical activity.

Not to mention that you are only taking into account the physical aspect and, does the physical aspect really matter in this day and age? Having a broken hymen will not destroy a woman's "honor" or "marriageability" in today's society (or, at least, it bloody well shouldn't).

What truly changes is the emotional aspect, the knowledge of the act and either regretting or not regretting it. This is equal between the sexes.

my mom had sex with a guy when she was in college because her friends were pressuring her. and she bloody well regrets it. i am still a virgin, and i don't regret it at all. it is possible to have fun without losing your virginity.

Don't worry about it. There's nothing wrong with being a virgin at 15. Don't go out and just have random sex, so that you loose your virginity. Anyways, most of the people making fun of you are probably still virgins.

It is always your decision, when you feel like you are ready then go for it

15 is so young. You've got plenty of time. I was seventeen and my boyfriend was eighteen - that's the average age for people to lose their virginity. Older or younger, there's nothing wrong with either, as long as YOU feel ready when you do it.

I was ready for my first time, and my boyfriend wasn't ready for his actual first time - but he was ready for mine. And we have a LOT of fun. I love sex with him and he loves it with me (not that I know what it's like with anyone else, but I don't want to : P).
