Whatever compelled him to do what he was doing, he had no idea, but he found himself knocking the apple tree's trunk, causing apples to fall for Zahariah as well as himself as he took one and nibbled at it, standing on the other side of the tree so that Zahariah didn't see him eating one of the apples.
