Perhaps a little too subtle, decided Lucrezia. Still, she didn't want to sound overeager or rude. "I've heard some of the other carnies who joined around the same time as myself," she established, "Talking about how they were working on figuring out costuming and equipment for when they start performing. I don't know where to start with that, and the only Silks ribbon I've found is pretty beaten up."

"Ahhh. Yes. Well. I'm not quite sure how much I'll be able to help you with all that. But, I'll do what I can. You can also try to do each other's make-up and things with who you are rooming with. If that made sense,' Aiden paused, inhaled, and kept going.
"So, what all do you need? What are your ideas? Do you need any props, or anything? Now, you will have to wait for a little bit before you can really start performing, but I figure that thinking about it ahead of time is good. Right."

The part about makeup and Wing Ting made sense. Lucrezia nodded. "Well, I guess I should bring up that the silks ribbon I've been practicing with in the training area isn't long enough or in good enough condition to use in the big tent," she explained. "And I know they can be hard to get in some places."
She sighed, wondering why she hadn't brought the one she had used in Rome.
Oh yeah, it was too big and too heavy to fit in a rucksack.

Aiden pondered what she had said. Silk ribbon, silk ribbon, silk ribbon...
"Well," He started, "Can you buy another one? Or will you have to make one? How could we fix that issue?"

"Well, I haven't really gotten to go through all the storage trailers yet. Since there's a small one for practice, there's probably a full size one packed away somewhere. Like, something used in a retired act?"
She didn't want to go into the difficulties of finding a long length of fabric the right texture and durability for performance. It might just ruin her chances of being able to do silks as part of a performance.
"Do you know where I might start looking, or know who might know?"

Hmm. Tough question. Aiden paused to think about it.
"Scarlett or Dahli, perhaps?" He hated to always refer people back to the two of them, but he really wasn't familiar with the props or storage, or what-have-you.
"And if not them. Well, maybe we should go digging through them! Or would you like to do that now?"

Digging through props was always exciting. Lucrezia nodded. "That sounds like a great idea! I have plenty of time." She cracked her knuckles enthusiastically, smiling all the while. "Where do we get started?"
There had to be some good stories in the props trailers. She just knew it.

Aiden nodded cheerfully, and gestured in a 'follow me!' manner. He walked slowly through all the trailers. Once he made it to a particularly large trailer, he stopped and pulled the door open. It stuck a bit, but, eventually, he got it opened.
"Here we go," He said as he walked inside.
"There's some props in here which are currently being used. So, just ask me before you decide to take anything, all right?"
He looked around at the disorderly mess that was the props trailer. Most of it were in nice cardboard boxes, but some of it was simply scattered about the floor.
"So... where would you like to start?"

Lucrezia bit her lip thoughtfully and looked around. "If I was a silks ribbon, where would I be?" she murmured, pacing in a slow circle around the trailer, looking at the boxes. She saw some brightly colored fabric poking out of one and decided it was a lead, but after digging through it, it turned out to be what looked to be the makings of a quick-change act. A little upset but not discouraged, she picked her way towards another stack of cloth filled boxes, but it produced nothing but a hot pink leotard, a jar of sequins, and a bolt of muslin cloth.
Holding up the leotard and the sequins, Lucrezia called over to Aiden, "I know it's not a silks ribbon, but can I have these?"

"Sure. Those are now yours," Aiden replied, as he nearly fell into one of the boxes. He had found several bright things - none of which were ribbons, however.
He pulled out something that looked like it could work. Sadly, it just turned out to be from a mask. Maybe the mask bit could be pulled off? He kept that in the back of his mind, and placed it in a 'maybe' pile.
"All right, so, give me a very detailed description of what you're looking for," He told her, while he pulled out a small unicycle from one of the boxes.

"It's going to be long," Lucrezia sighed, frowning at the accumulating pile. "Long enough to hang from the rigging by its midsection and touch the ground. Like the name implies, it's some sort of silk or silk-like material. And probably brightly colored."
She tugged out a few more boxes that looked to be likely candidates. "It's probably folded or rolled up," she mused, pulling a top layer of junk out. The rest of the box was taken up by what looked to be a roll of broad, thick silk dyed bright orange. She grinned.
"I think this might be it," she announced, pushing the box towards the clear area in the center of the room. "I don't think I can unfold it here, but I'm pretty sure this is it."

Aiden looked at her a bit confused. Lucrezia had found it herself, though. He felt a bit useless, but he'd get over it.
"So, uh," He stammered a bit, "Can I help in any way? That seemed to be much easier than I thought it would be."
He peered slowly into the box. He wasn't able to tell what it was, but if she was so sure...

"This box is kind of heavy," Lucrezia acknowledged, nudging it with her foot. "And I'd really like to get this outside for a better look at it."
She frowned down at the folded fabric. "That felt too easy. I bet there's something more complicated that's going to jump at us."
She nudged the box again with her foot. A small spider crawled out. She shivered.
"I hope there's not a nest of those in there," she stated, bending down to try to lift the box. "Help me with this?"

Aiden frowned at the spider. He hoped that Lucrezia wasn't afraid of them. Who could know what else was living in the storage trailer?
"Sure," He said, as he picked up the box, and began to carry it to the exit. Noticing the door was closed, he kicked it slightly with his foot.
It wouldn't open.
"Could you get the door? Please?" He asked, as he held the box. It was a lot heavier than it looked. How big could this ribbon-thing be, anyway?

Lucrezia, one hand still supporting the box, reached back and pushed the door open. She carefully walked backwards down the stairs of the trailer and helped set the box down. She then darted back inside to retrieve the leotard and sequins she had found.
Returning with them, she turned her attention to the bigger prize of the hour. Tugging the roll of fabric out of the box, she inspected it, counting how many times it had been wrapped around itself.
"This was probably used in the big tent a few years ago. Judging from the dust and how far it was in the stacks, it probably hasn't been used since."
She tugged at the fabric between her fingers. "Nice stretch. I don't think it's real silk, though. Do you know anything about whether there was another Silks performer a few years ago?"
