Lor nodded and stoo erect at the desk.
For a few minutes she found her mind enjoying the silence and the complete and unaltering standstill she was in. Lor was too used to the upbeat life of running around to please politicians, Senators and council members all the same.
The Senator's eyes soon beagn to flicker around the room, the still unsettling. Brushing back long strands of black hair that seemed to free themselves from the confines of the braid trailing down her back, Lor paced ever so slowly.

"I am sorry." The young woman at the desk spoke up a moment though her expression made it look like she wished she had not.
"The Chancellor is otherwise, detained for the evening."

Lor rolled her eyes and exhaled ever so slowly.
"My business with him is anything but crucial, but can you at least 'un-detain' him for the Jedi here?" Her words were filled with scorn.
"If the situation is as serious as he says, then your position will surely be on the line for not allowing him to speak with the Chancellor. And believe me, I have ways of finding him. Make this easy."
Syone stepped forward and leaned over the desk.
"Contact him again and tell him it's a favor. For Lor."

The woman hesitated but picked up the receiever.

"Thank you." Lor said with a kind smirk before turning to the Jedi.
"Don't know what that will do really. Just makes it sound more important. Anything else I might be able to help you with?"

"I think I can handle the rest myself, but thanks for the help. Senators always have more influence on politicians then jedi anyway... most think we're too straight-minded... And I doubt that, even though they let us back on Coruscant, they completely trust us after what happened 3 years ago... I could always bash the door and seek the chancellor, but I doubt that will gain me more trust.."
Alron smiled, but started to become impatient. It was unbelievable for a jedi that someone would take this long while something important was up, but from history he learned this was something common in politics.

(( Vanair, I'm just going to assume our characters know each other. Also, I wasn't too sure if she spoke 'wookie' or not, so the droid is translating everything here. ))

Just then a long stream of senators poured into the building, including the wookie Lakkra, and her droid. Most of the senators were just back from the Jedi Temple celebrations, as their presence was not needed anymore. Lakkra was planning on heading back to her quarters to change into a more casual sash when she spotted Delegate Syone over by the main desk next to, yes, it appeared to be a jedi. Intrigued, she scuttled over.

she said in greeting, her droid dutifully giving more formal translations. The two of them had worked together on this before, as Lor's sectors of interest were often plagued by nasty criminals, and bounty hunters were often a good solution to those problems. Lakkra's involvment was mainly because she was one of the few senators who could actually deal with bounty hunters without doing something stupid.

"Though now that the Jedi are back in service, maybe we won't need to worry about hiring Bounty Hunters so much..." she thought.

she said, turning her attention to Lor's companion. The wookie gave a short bow, noting that the Jedi's clothes were torn and bloodied. She gave him a curious look.

She glanced back at Lor, now utterly curious to what was going on.

((Maniac, I have sorta RP'd the chancellor, to finish his speech in the Jedi Temple thread. I think he's more of an NPC type character than anything else, so once you go to see him, I think you can roleplay out his reaction as long as you don't do anything too drastic. I think. >.> ))

"senator... The talus capital has been attacked by an unknown force, under the lead of a jedi that has been missing for 3 years... from the previous wars.. I am afraid Talus won't be the only one, therefor I want to meet toe chancellor to discuss what further actions need to be taken... Is he available at the moment?"

Alron hoped he was, and hoped that the chancellor could act quickly.. before the whole mess escalated. It happened before that the chancellor couldn't act quick enough, and because of that a war started... but those were other people, perhaps this one is more capable

Lakkra murmured after hearing the Jedi's story.

Almost as if on cue, the secretary that Lor had spoken with earlier piped up.

"Excuse me- I have just gotten in word that the Chancellor will allow a special meeting with the Jedi. He is waiting in Chamber C3, and wishes for Senator Syone and whoever else you bothered to join you."

Lakkra said to the secretary. She turned back to the Jedi and Lor. she chuckled. Yes, her first year in the Senate was indeed a confusing one.

Lor smiled kindly at the sight of her Friend and ally. But at the mentioning of bounty hunters Lor seemed to seize.
She'd never liked them, afterall they had been the ones that killed her father-but there was another place and time to deal with such personal problems.

Now was not it.

Nodding she followed the Jedi and Lakkra, though she didn't need the droid for interpretation.
"Don't you ever get tired of hearing yourself being echoed?" There was a slight delay in the translator, always had been and even though it was mere miliseconds Lor had never gotten used to ignoring it.

"...in front of them," finished the droid. "I do take offense to that, Master Yalikk. It is against my programming to-"

Lakkra grinned.

Their party turned a corner and started walking down an insanely long hallway.

not to have any method of accelerated travel. Very bothersome.>

The two senators had now pulled ahead of the Jedi, and Lakkra switched the subject back again to the meeting with the bounty hunters.

She shook her head.

Lor nodded her face growing stern.
"And once again they'll be no worries for me. I can handle them fine." Just talking about the hunters seemed to bring back that hate Lor trained herself to hide.

Calm. Remain Calm.

"How many this time? And will they be distributed evenly, or will the bulk be going where they're needed? Last time we had few when we needed more. There were complications and problems as it was. But I'm sure you're doing better." Lor smiled at Lakkra.
"You have a worthy and intelligent head on your shoulders."

Yes, the trio had finally arrived at Chamber C3, or rather the doors to said Chamber. Lakkra pushed a button and a second later the doors opened with a small whoosh. The three of them entered.

"Senator Syone, and Senator Yalikk! What a pleasant suprise," the Chancellor said in greeting, not sounding suprised at all. A few guards, other senators, scribes, and other political figures were around him, all staring at the newcomers. "And Master Jedi... you have something important to discuss with me, you said. Please make it quick. I only have a few spare minutes."

He looked expectantly at the ragged looking Jedi, wanting an explaination quickly.

((Yes, I get to roleplay the chancellor. Go NPCs! Woot. ))

"Thank you chancellor. the time is good, because I wasn't hoping to spend more time on it anyway.
The Talus capital is gone, and probably over 90% of the people in it. I was going to visit a sick friend there, but at the moment I jumped from hyperspace, I saw 3 unknown cruisers. When I moved in to identify them, they opened fire at me and the city... I had to flee, heavily damaged, and chrashed into the jedi temple upon arrival, you might have heard it.
My droid took pictures of the ships, R2, project them when I'm ready, 'kay?

The most disturbing thing, at least for me, was that the missing jedi Maniac led the armada... I recognized his voice over the radio... I'm afraid he'd fallen, and didn't die... there might be a lot more up then those 3 ships, he was talking about the jedi being too power-seeking and republican before he dissapeared... perhaps he wants to end that now... in a non-jedi way. We have to inform the public, and be more aware..."

Alron stepped back and made room for R2 to project the pictures of the 3 ships. He showed the large cruiser and 2 smaller ones as holograms on the chamber floor, while Alron waited for a reaction

Unfortunately for Alron, the chancellor was an expert at showing no emotions whatsoever. After the slew of information was presented, he sat there for a moment, and then held a short whispered council with one of the people near him.

"Are you sure that much of the capital has been destroyed, Jedi? Perhaps in your haste to leave the battle you had miscalculated the damage done... At any rate, three known ships is hardly a large enough threat to inform the public at this stage, even if this... former jedi is as dangerous as you make him to be. There are many other threats in this galaxy that concern the public more."

He raised his hand to stop any protest and continued to speak. "However, I do realize this is a threat, and some action must be taken against it. The republic can supply you with a ship comparable to these cruisers, if you would like, to investigate this further. You may also seek out another jedi to help you investigate, if you'd like. We will also increase patrols in that area. Any more drastic attempts made by this Maniac may be raised to the public' eye. In the meantime, a more subtle approach may be neccisary... And I'm afraid that's all the time that I have. Authorization for your use of republic troops will be cleared this afternoon, I dare say. Now please excuse me..."

And the chancellor and his entire enturoge left the chamber, just leave the senators and the jedi alone again.

((Sorry to rush through that, but I'm going out of town the next few days and didn't want to leave you hanging. ^^;; ))

"Did you expect me to stay and watch if it would be destroyed completely chancellor? From my previous experiences with Turbolasers and massive flames that could be seen from space, I think I can be sure it is destroyed, yes.
Of course you don't want the public to know Talus is gone... Imagine they hear about it and see it as a governmental mistake, they might rise...
Of course, if they hear about it in another way, and find out the republic tried to keep it 'secret', the people won't complain... perfectly natural someone tries to hide thousands of deaths... But I didn't expect otherwise from the republic.

I will investigate, even though I do not know where, or when, or how... that ship, is it around 10 kilometres in lenght? or would it be matching the 2 smaller ones?... Hn, leave the ship, I prefer small craft...

Oh, and patrol around Talus all you want, but I doubt he will attack a destroyed city twice... it is better to put more patrols on key planets of the republic...

Good day chancellor"

Alron turned around, and walked out of the office. Although he expected the reaction, it did upset him. It seemed politicians never change. Maybe Maniac was right, maybe they should cease serving the republic. However, his ways of assault were not correct. Diplomacy could have done it... No, we can't quit the republic. Even though the politicians aren't right, the citizens should not loose protection because of that... we do it for them. Alron left the senate building and headed back to the jedi temple to report.

Lakkra watched the Chancellor and then the Jedi leave the room. She then turned to Lor.

"Yes, Master Lakkra?"

Her droid made a miffed sounding noise, and then turned to face away from the two senators. Lakkra smirked.

she said dryly. She started walking to the door, her silent droid trailing behind her.

Lor nodded and followed Lakkra to the door.
"I agree, this is hardly acceptable. I'm surprised the situation has gone unattended to, relations between the Jedi and Republic have always been sketchy at best but now..." She sighed deeply, a hand smoothing her already well kempt hair.

"I would love lunch." The words were filed with relief as Lor smiled, forgetting her many problems and issues still left unsolved.

She led her companion and droid out of The Republic's chambers, and into the city. Not too far into the city, of course. Respectable people such as themselves didn't go too far into the city; at least, without getting held up, beaten, robbed, mugged, killed, maimed, or otherwise injured by the hands of quoteunquote ruffians. A short jaunt led them to a nice looking place, offering foods to please most species.

"Mmm, may I help you, madams?" asked the waiter, who was waiting at the little stand that read 'Please wait to be seated' in at least 15 different languages.

The man gave her a quizical stare. Lakkra sighed, and then tapped her droid sharply, who took that as a cue to translate what she said.

"Ah yes. Right this way, please." He led them to a table near a window, where they sat down. Two ordering pads were placed in front of them.

"Just place your order on those. Your food will be brought to you after you have ordered it, of course." He bowed, and then walked back to the entrance.

Lakkra mumbled. She started scanning through the menu.
