I've seen plenty of brands in the bibles using caucasian models for their clothing, not to mention that Lolita fashion is heavily inspired by European fashion of the 18th and 19th centuries.

If you wanna get techinical, Lolita is basically ripped-off 18th(ish) century European style clothinng, so you could (although I wouldn't) say that Asian people dressing Loli are just wanna-be Europeans, and therefor, there is no "real" loli, because it's a wanna-be of another fashion. The reason I wouldn't say this is because nobody has claims to any particular style of clothing or whatever, and therefor other people (as in other ethnicities) who wear these things can't be considered not really whatever the style is.
So basically what the last two posts said. xd Plus, I don't see how you could really "be" a fashion... confused

Nezumi Kakashi Rorita.Manba Considering Lolita was inspired by Rococo/Victorian fashion, and that Japanese Lolita's tend to make themselves as white as possible, I've always found that view incredibly funny. ._.' Just tell her youre great-great-great(etc) grandwhatever was Japanese, anyone dim enough to think your race can dictacte whether or not you can properly take part in a fashion should be dim enough to believe that. =P *cracks up* I use that alllllll the time. XD People ask me why I'm into Japanese stuff and I've just taken to telling them my grandma's grandma was Japanese and I'm trying to reconnect with my long lost heritage. My peers think it's quite noble. I think they're quite dim. 3nodding *German/Polish* But people are dumb with that "you can't do that cause you're not Asian" crappu. *shakes head* If I dressed in Wa-Loli everyday, I could see someone getting that impression. But WHAT in Buddha's sock is so Asian about frills and lace?! It's a billion percent European!!!!!! gonk I suppose this would give me a broader range of clothing styles to choose from, my being Irish/French/Swiss/English/African American/Native American. And hey, since it's believed the Native Americans originally came from Asia, I guess it's then okay for me to dress partly Lolita? xd

Can you imagine lolita moccasons? XD I'm such a huge mixture of ethnicities, but I mostly only mention the most recent, and prominent ones, which are Swedish/Norwegian, and Scottish. Apparently, Scandinavian people have some asian in them, perhaps from people coming from the far reaches of Russia, or all the travelling they did, so therefore, I must be a true lolita. >.>

...she got me angry again to day, wearing heavy eyeliner all around her eye, red eyeliner smeared on the bottom, chain pants and her hair dyed black wtih random roots, tips and spotches red. But today really got me mad, my little sister who is into...uhm... confused Japanese styled punk is coming to the Dir En Grey Concert with me and my friend Ami [the evil one] started getting mad at her and saying she doesn't deserve to go. Isn't that ignorant?

you should deffinitly not continue such a friendship with that girl.. she doesnt seem to understand the qualities of a friend very well.

Well, I hope things start looking up for you!
I went through a similar situation a couple months ago and now I feel a bazillion times better than I did before when I THOUGHT I was happy.
I left that 'friend' way behind, along with every other friend I had made at my new school (they all followed her). But in leaving them, I ventured outside my dorm room (I hardly ever left it before then, except for class and food) and found David, who I have fallen head over heels for and looks exceptionally fine in aristocrat clothing, and Alex, the only other Mana-loving lolita I have ever met in real life.
If things haven't gotten better yet, I swear they will soon. I hope it's sooner than later, though! I don't like hearing about sad lolita. It makes me sad.
