The blue-haired man had winced again at her reaction, silently thankful that he hadn't gotten smashed in the face for doing that. It had to hurt. He was surprised that she hadn't made a sound, however--he probably would have been yelping all over the place. "Viveka," Ven repeated thoughtfully, doing his best to memorize it so he wouldn't forget. "You sure...? I can help pay for some of the repairs--I really didn't mean to do that much damage..."
He glanced towards fallen Rev Raptor, doing his best to assess the damage. "No, the core should be all right..." Granted, he didn't know about the mechanics of this particular zoid, but the core should have been unharmed despite the serious damage. Blinking quietly, Ven rose to his feet as well, looking apprehensive as Viveka rose. "Feeling all right? A bit dizzy, maybe...?" She'd lost a fair amount of blood, after all. "The nearest town is too far for you to walk back on your own." He said firmly, sweeping some sand off his jacket. "Let me help you back until you can get the Raptor in a shed, at least.

Help pay? Why sure. Viveka was all for a plan that saved her money. But for now, at least, she tried to be polite. "Well, let's just see what the cost is first." Carefully taking the short trip to her Zoid's side, she placed a gentle hand on the machine's surface. In recognition, it let out a soft hiss. It was upset, too, she could tell. Sighing, she stroked the weathered metal a bit longer before returning her attention to the human matter at hand.
"Feeling well enough," she answered simply, shrugging lightly and hoping she at least looked so to stand on her own. Of course, were she truly well, or at least in better condition, she would've cast him an angry glare for telling her what she couldn't do. But as she was, she was more inclined to the kinder side that lay dormant beneath the years of hardened exterior. He was a lucky one to see such a thing.
Shaking her head lightly, she tried to chuckle, but found her throat too dry for the effort. "All right, fine." Pride lost is pride gained? She hoped so. Well, as long as she wouldn't have to fly in that Rainbow Jerk... Moving back to his side, she hesitated a foot or so off, mis-matched eyes searching for something to focus on. "Ven... Thank you," she muttered, the unfamiliar words nearly catching in her throat.

Ven laughed slightly at that, grinning. "I've gotten the Jerk in worse situations before--it should be okay." Annnd, if not, he'd just bum money out of Ryo again! Always a good plan. When the Rev Raptor hissed softly, Ven's grin faded slightly, replaced with a more thoughtful look. They had bonded strongly, it seemed. Had he not accidently CFS'd them right off the bat...Well, they would have made a powerful opponent.
"Good." Viveka looked pale to him, but...she wasn't wobbling. That was a good sign, right? With some rest, she should be fine. Her wound hadn't looked too bad. Still, he was no doctor, and Ven was still wary about her condition. Ah, well.
Grinning slightly, the blue-haired man simply shook his head. "Nah, don't worry about it! It's the least I could do." Pausing for a moment, he frowned. "Well, we could try to walk, but I'm not sure how far away we are...Taking the Jerk would probably be the best bet, even if it means we'd be a little cramped." They probably wouldn't go fast at all--Ven was still worried about her lightheadedness.

As unusual as it was for her, Viveka felt a little smile on her lips. Nodding, she stuffed her hands in her pockets. And she was beginning to relax. Relaxing, relaxing, until... She froze. Once idle hands gripped menacingly at the insides of her pockets. Stay calm, stay calm she told herself over and over. Still, she couldn't keep her eyes from darting nervously to the Jerk. "I..." she started. Yet, she didn't want to look foolish.
And so she shook her head, summoning a bit of a dizzy spell that she tried to ignore. "That's... fine." Sure it was. Perfectly. Everything would be okay, right? Though he didn't quite know just yet that she hated flying Zoids, there was no way she'd be telling him she was just a little scared of flying. Trying to get her mind off the flight ahead, she pushed to plan for the future. "But how will we get my Raptor there? Have someone come out for it?" She was wary about leaving her Zoid alone.

Ven seemed all but oblivious to her reaction, noting how she kept looking towards the Jerk, but really not thinking anything of it. "Yeah, it's a little small," He apologized, thinking that was the problem. "It's a good zoid though, we'll be fine." The Hydra had skittered over to snatch the medical kit and was now tugging it furiously towards the Jerk, disappearing inside the cockpit without so much as a peep. Eh, he'd probably have to ride on Ven instead of lounging like usual.
"All right." Ven seemed pleased, stepping towards the Jerk. "Eh? Oh, don't worry. The Jerk can carry it--it can also be used as a transport zoid. I mean, it can only carry one at a time, but..." That'd be another reason to go slow. "Stay right there, okay?" Ven quickly jogged over to his zoid, heaving himself in the cockpit. The Jerk lifted its head with a croon and, looking somewhat awkward, strode towards Viveka and the downed Raptor. Once there, it lowered its head again, and Ven held out one hand. "Shouldn't be too far, I hope."

"All right then. That works." So, at least they wouldn't have to come back for the Raptor and she wouldn't have to worry. Yet, as she was left alone, Viveka let out a harsh sigh. "This is going to be great," she muttered under her breath, watching with a scowl as the bird ambled towards her. Perhaps it was her underlying fear of flight that had her angry at flight-type Zoids. Or perhaps it was the other way around. Whatever the case, she had to look away as the other's Zoid haulted in front of her.
The ground seemed most interesting as she reached up to take his hand. Except she found herself missing the first time and being forced to look after all. Stepping up into the unfamiliar cockpit, she took the time to glance around warily. "You're sure you can haul the Raptor, too?" She just had to make sure. Her trust in birds was very little, after all.

Wisely, he didn't say a word when she missed his hand the first time. He'd learned from Devi that sometimes, it was better just to stay quiet and pretend like nothing had happened at all. "Pretty sure." Ven nodded. "It's maybe weighs a little less than the Jerk--shouldn't be any problem, seeing as I didn't take any damage..." Ugh, he was still kicking himself for that. The Hydra VS had poked its heads out curiously at the newcomer--no one besides itself usually rode in the cockpit.
"This'll be the awkward part." Ven seemed perfectly cheerful, folding his arms over his chest as he studied the Raptor in front of them. "Either you can sit, and I can sorta pilot over you, or I'll sit, and you can stand behind me and sorta use me as something to hold onto. We won't be going fast at all, so, either or." It depended if she was feeling okay, really.

"Mm..." In truth, Viveka was only half paying attention as she continued to scan the small, but still unfamiliar territory that was the Jerk's cockpit. In her inspection, she noted the Hydra VS in whole for the first time, though she'd spotted it skittering around before. Back then she'd been too distracted to really take into account the beautiful dragon-like heads that reminded her of the dino Zoids she loved so much.
Shaking off the slight stupor of admiration, she looked back to Ven. And the words that came out of his mouth next put a debative look on her face. Well, preferably the one that had less chance of physical contact, but neither seemed so, and thusly she took the one that saved her the most pride. "I'll stand." In her current state, still dizzied by the injury, it was likely that this and her fear of flight would make it difficult to stand. Yet, she wasn't one to admit it.

The Hydra VS seemed to realize it was getting attention and flexed its necks powerfully, preening itself even though it was already glossy. Arrogant little thing, wasn't it? Without hesitation, it swiftly moved towards the female pilot, little claws digging into her pants (or legs) as it scuttled up her body to perch on her shoulder, a contented thrum purring from the trio. Ven snorted slightly, shaking his head. Fickle little beast.
"All right." He didn't protest, but once she fell over, they were gonna switch. Taking a seat, Ven didn't bother to strap himself in--they wouldn't go that fast, and it'd feel strange, having the safety of the restraints while Viveka had nothing. "Here we go!" The Jerk gave itself a shake, stretching its wings almost lazily before launching itself up. One, two, three beats of those powerful wings and they were airborne, hovering over the Raptor. Lowering itself gently, both talons closed around the slightly decimated zoid, gripping it tightly before soaring aloft. Ven shifted slightly, glancing back over his shoulder to A, see if Viveka was all right, and B, see if that damn Hydra was behaving itself...

Readying to move behind the seat, Viveka was a little surprised, to say the least, at feeling the sharp pinch of the mini-Zoid as it began its assent. And in her surprise she nearly lashed out, but held her hand when she saw what the cause had been. Letting out a releaved breath, she waited until the Hydra VS chose its perch and settled. Raising a hand then, she gave each head its due attention in turn. It calmed her a little, to have the presence of a not so flight-type Zoid with her while she took flight again for the first time in seven years.
When the Jerk began its journey upwards, she did her best not to shiver with each beat of the powerful wings. A gloved hand stroked eagerly at the Hydra on her shoulder, trying to regain the calm she'd had before they took off. If merely the start was bothering her this much, she couldn't think to see once they'd truly gotten going. The other hand remained gripped at her pocket, not willing to use Ven as a balance just yet. And so, when he looked back, she tried to look normal. "I'm fine," she muttered, but her eyes were shut tightly as soon as his gaze was no longer on her. "I'm fine..." her voice got smaller. It was only meant for herself this time.

Chittering softly, the metallic beast's three heads fought for attention, the middle one, being the biggest, managing to shove the other two aside so it would get petted first. It seemed unaware of the pain it had caused--but certainly hadn't meant to do so on purpose. Orange eyes gleamed for a moment, then dimmed in turn as each head was stroked, thrumming with pleasure at the attention. Really, from the way it was acting, it was like Ven beat the poor thing. Which he didn't.
Ahh, well, the start was always the worst part, wasn't it? That initial lurch--but everything was smooth sailing afterwards. The Jerk was a reliable zoid, and had built for both speed and comfort. Well, for the most part. The pilot had managed to pick up on some of her discomfort at this point, but was forced to return his attention to outside the cockpit. "It shouldn't take very long," Ven attempted to soothe, reinforced by the Hydra affectionately nuzzling at the woman's shoulder, "We're a lot closer than I thought we were."

Everything seemed to be going rather well so far. The attention of the Hydra and the other pilot's assurances kept her mind occupied enough that the outside world was a back-burner thought. Well, it was until she foolishly looked to see just how close they were to the town. It was still a spot in the distance, and just enough to have her mind click together the pieces. She was flying, above the ground. Up. Above the ground. A sudden illness his her and the hand at her pocket flew to her forehead, trying in vain to ease the headache it brought. Trying to stay balanced, she continued to pet the Hydra. 'Stay calm, stay calm...' her mind muttered, but it was to no avail.
Letting out a soft moan, the pilot finally set both hands on the back of the seat for support. However, removing the support of her head caused the cockpit to spin. Shutting her eyes, she merely saw the same spinning, yet this time in blackness. Leaning forward, she wrapped her arms around the seat and likewise about Ven's shoulders. "I don't feel so good..." She let it be known. They'd better get there soon.

Ven had heard the moan, and had glanced concernedly over one shoulder--practically leaping out of his skin as arms wrapped around his shoulders. "Ahh, okay, okay, don't worry!" Right, like he wasn't. Ven bit his lip, increasing the speed of the Jerk a bit, wondering faintly if she was going to be sick. Oh please no. The Hydra had hissed with surprise at the movement, scrabbling for a hold so it wouldn't go tumbling off its chosen perch. Rudely, but still rather affectionate for the ruffled zoid, it bumped its non-horned head against her cheek, its tail gently lashing around her neck. Silly human, why was she upset? There was nothing to be upset over, as far as it knew!
Ven decided that even if they weren't quite in town, landing just outside of it would work too. Pushing the Jerk down, he lowered it gently until he felt a slight bump, signaling that the Raptor had been brought down. A single flick of a switch had those talons release the decimated zoid, and, lurching upward once more, the Jerk moved away to settle placidly on the ground. "See? Nothing to it." Ven rose to his feet, unsure if Viveka would need assistance or not. "Are you all right? Is it your head again?"

The quick landing was a good thing. Much longer and Viveka felt the worst would've happened. Even she would feel horrible... getting sick all over someone else's cockpit. Not such a great thing to do. Moving back from the other pilot, she held her stomach a moment. It seemed to be calming now. Taking in a deep breath, she pulled gently at the Hydra's tail. It wasn't choking her, yet she still willed it to release its grip. Though, it seemed she'd be sated either way as she went back to stroking the little mini-Zoid.
"More like my head and my stomach this time," she mumbled, trying a bit of wit, but failing miserably. "I just... need to get on the ground." First step to recovery: Move away from what was bothing you in the first place. That was her priority. But shifting in the small space behind the seat presented an extra problem. A pain shot through her head, weakening her legs and nearly causing her knees to buckle. Looks like she'd need Ven's help again. And... maybe even a doctor, despite her earlier protests. "Sorry, but could you help me a little?" She questioned, feeling rather worthless by now. Never had she needed to much assistance in her life. And the feeling was obvious in her hollow tone.
